OMG. So not ready for GRE, but must give it a go anyway.
I think fates are conspiring to hassle me... Severe weather warning for all of south-eastern Ontario.
A NEAR-CRIPPLING SNOW STORM WITH HEAVY SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW AS WELL AS SOME ICE PELLETS TONIGHT AND SUNDAY. THIS IS A WARNING THAT DANGEROUS WINTER WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE IMMINENT OR OCCURRING IN THESE REGIONS. A MASSIVE WINTER STORM IS ABOUT TO STRIKE MUCH OF SOUTHERN AND EASTERN ONTARIO WITH NEAR RECORD SNOWFALL AMOUNTS.
Yes, I will be careful. I've driven in bad weather before. It's the other people on the road that I worry about. *sigh* I'm wondering if it's really this bad, or if the weather network is just hyping things. Anyone further west have any news? It's not even snowing here yet (knock on wood). Wind is going to be a b*tch, though.
In other news, word is in on the car's issues. Sum up, cobalt_00, you were right - a tire's missing a bearing, and that's what's causing the squealing and the weird rubbing/vibrating noise. Also have issues with the blower resistor, some sort of steering rod, and something else that I don't remember at the moment. Total, should we get everything repaired - $850-900. *sigh* So we're going to try and get only the necessary things fixed, and deal with the rest later. I think it's time to start looking at newer cars since this one is a money trap.
Heading out to spend the night at The Meadows with Oselle tomorrow, around noon. Hoping to make it there before dinner (allowing myself 4-6 hours to get there). Wanting to stop at the Bulk Barn in the morning and get some treats (those white hersey's kisses shaped things that are chocolate-minty with sprinkles on the bottom), and maybe some waterproofing spray for my boots, as they're new and I don't have a real pair for mucking about in 40cm of snow, should it fall.
Computer = sucks ass. Won't read the CDs I've got for study materials. Will bring them to Oselle's house anyway to see if I can study off of them. Exam is scaring me. Must tell myself to relax, as it's really not that big of a deal as going to US schools isn't my main goal. I'll do what I can, and that's about it.
Happy Turkey (or Tofurkey?) Day to my American Friends!
At work I've been pretending this is my holiday too for the past two weeks I'm a bit disappointed I don't get to eat turkey and everything. LOL It'll be a slow day at work, or so I've heard. Sucks that they've made it "paper free", which means we can't even read books between taking calls. All we can do is read our policy manuals online (can't surf to other pages at all; well, technically can, but can get in huge trouble for it). Whee! I was hoping to study. Maybe I can do it sneakily somehow, or get voluntary time off and come home early. I should be thankful that I have a job that pays me more than the other one at Inspiration World, even if it's not as fun.
First snowfall as well today. If it stays cloudy and coldish, it might stay instead of melting away. Need to put snow tires on the car and buy me some winter boots that are waterproof, but that has to wait until Sunday or Monday, when I actually have the car and time during the day. *sigh* The list of things to do grows.
