Grateful 5

Well, I feel like sharing an I did list, as part of my Grateful 5. I'm just really happy because I feel productive, and that's something to be grateful for.

1. Nice enough weather to walk home in from the bus. I got some exercise, so while not like running on a treadmill or something, I did walk fast and that's good for now.
2. Having a plan. I always feel better with a plan. Now I just need to make sure I have follow through, cuz that's sometimes harder than having a plan.
3. Bus being on time making me on time for the GO bus home. That extra half-hour really helps.
4. Paid my credit card bills. Yay. Had enough in the account. Have to make sure to save some to pay mom back.
5. The productive feeling cuz it's awesome!

Since 5 o'clock, I:
  • finished a book on the GO bus
  • walked home from the station, and listened to an audio book
  • Ad Astra hotel stuff for the convention
  • AN emails, cultural track stuff
  • paid my credit card bill
  • snuggled with the cat a little
  • baked banana bread
  • did dishes
  • IG moderator duties stuff

    Goals for tomorrow:
  • start tracking my spending again
  • start tracking my foods again
(both are on my phone so they should be doable)
  • call the hospital again about volunteering (earlier in the day)
  • call the local gym for more information
  • Weekly goals:
  • stick to devised schedule 3/5 days
  • ask for a raise (Tuesday, I've decided) - plan this out, make notes, references, etc. Edit: Emailed supervisor to arrange time to talk about it. *little nervous - but really, they're not going to fire me, I won't go down in wage, I'm one of the least paid in the grand scheme of things, and I have NOTHING TO LOSE. nod nod*/peptalk
  • gym 2x - assessment Tues, workout Wed AM and Thurs PM
  • rework budget
  • draft email for finding relevant shadowing/volunteering experience
  • list of places to contact

    Remaining Monthly Goals:
  • start volunteering
  • find some way to get experience (this may mean taking a day off every week to shadow or volunteer at a clinic, etc)

Last night since I was having trouble getting sleepy (who knows why, I'd been up since 9am and it was 11pm), Sunny and I planned the week's dinners and are going to go to the grocery store after work today (along with other places, like Sephora for my birthday gift, and the gym for our memberships). I'm hoping this plan-the-dinners-in-advance thing will work for us and free up some time, especially since right now we're on a crockpot kick. The crockpot cookbook is coming in handy. :D

    Back to Work!

Well, as it's the start of the new year and I'm back at work, I'm trying to be productive.

I was supposed to move to the reception desk today, but it wasn't set up yet, so they're working on that now.

( Instead, here's what I did today (obvs updated through the day as it's only 10am):Collapse )

And since I feel like it (and need to see things written out a lot):

    Weekly goals:
  • like many others, join a gym (there's one right near work)
  • book Costa Rica stuff (and by stuff I mean flights & hotel for wedding)
  • make hair appointment
  • research prep courses for certification exam (I don't know if there are any. Will google a bit more and then possibly give up on this and work to make my own schedule.)

    January Goals: Career!
  • rework GC resume and associated materials
  • start volunteering
  • find some way to get experience (this may mean taking a day off every week to shadow or volunteer at a clinic, etc)
  • professional-looking LinkedIn headshot
