Our baby girl is 5 months old, and I can't even believe it!
The poor girl battled a bad cold for the first few weeks of the year and finally started to feel better about a week and a half ago. Steven and our home teacher gave her a blessing on the 7th, and all week after that I was closely monitoring her and always on the fence about taking her to the doctor. Thankfully she started to turn the corner and is back to being healthy now!
Now that she is healthy and not all congested we've started transitioning her from the rock'n play that she's been sleeping in to her crib and pack'n play in our room. She's been doing great with her naps in her crib, but the first couple of nights in the pack'n play were really rough and we didn't get much sleep. However, the last couple of nights she has started to do a lot better and is back to only waking up 2-3 times for feedings. She is a particular sleeper though like Emma was and likes to sleep on her side, with her binky, and a blanket to cuddle up by her face. I also just stopped swaddling her this week while she sleeps, cause she always broke out of it anyways.
A typical day for her is to nurse at 8-12-4-8, with naps around 8:30-11, 12:30-2:30/3, and a late nap in the evening about 5-6/6:30. During the day she is up roughly 2-3 hours at a time before getting tired and fussy. She also gets pretty fussy between 7-8 in the evening and rarely makes it to 8 o'clock to eat. However, most nights it seems like she gets a second wind after eating and then stays up awhile instead of going to sleep. She's then been getting up at midnight and 4 to eat, and then usually wakes up pooping at 6 am!
She started rice cereal last week, although I only feed her it once a day, usually at bedtime in hopes that it will keep her fuller longer (hasn't worked so far). She seems to enjoy it though, and is always reaching for our food, drinks, and utensils now.
She still loves to be where the action is and as long as she can see people she's usually pretty happy. She enjoys sitting in the bumbo chair to play with toys or laying on her play mat.
She's tried out the jumperoo a couple times now and doesn't seem to know quite what to think of that yet.
She is very ticklish in the ribs, and laughs when you kiss her on the neck or feet.
She loves her baths and loves to splash.
I often catch her sucking on her thumb, or if she's laying down her toes!
She's wearing 6 month clothes, and even some smaller 9 month things. We also just moved her to size 3 diapers this week.
She continues to be a pretty happy, smiley baby and does great going to others so far.
