Date Night Cut Short

Well it's been a very dreary week here in South Dakota with a gray sky hanging over our heads, so tonight Steven and I decided to go out to a movie. We were about 45 minutes into the new Indiana Jones movie when all of a sudden it shuts off and the screen goes black. Everyone just kind of sat there waiting for an explanation or for the movie to come back on, but then nothing happened. After sitting there for a minute we could hear the tornado sirens going off outside. One by one people began to head outside to investigate. When we got there we saw the clouds that are below in the slideshow. The theater gave us vouchers to come back, because they are not allowed to run a movie while there is a tornado warning. So we ran home and got the camera to capture the unrolling action. We have never seen clouds like these ones, nor have we ever seen them move so fast. It was our first true brush with a tornado storm. Below are a couple short clips of what was happening.

Almost Homeowners

Yesterday we heard the exciting news that our 2nd offer was accepted by the sellers!! So as long as I get a job offer within the next 4 weeks we will be homeowners!! No pressure, right? It has been a very nerve racking process filled with lots of anxiety and sleepless nights, and it's not over yet. We are very excited and are just praying that everything continues to go as planned.

Three Amazing Years Together!!

On May 21st Steven and I celebrated our 3rd year wedding anniversary!! It's hard to believe we have been married for 3 years already, it feels like only yesterday we were newlyweds. However, when I look back I realize how many things we have done and accomplished together in our 3 short years.

I also want to share how awesome and amazing my husband Steven is. Not only was he brave enough to marry me, but he has actually stayed and put up with me for the last 3 years. He is truly my best friend, and he always puts me first no matter what it might cost him. He brings out the best in me and always makes me want to be a better person. He has the biggest heart and is one of the most caring people I know. He is always volunteering himself to help others and despite the fact that he goes to school full time and works part time he is always finding little side jobs that he can do to bring us in extra money. He is such a hard worker no matter what he is doing and I always know that I can count on him. He is also the most thoughtful and romantic guy I've ever known. He is full of surprises whether it's giving me flowers, doing the dishes when it is my turn, filling my car up with gas, sending me to get a pedicure, or arranging for my mom and sister to come visit on my birthday! I have no idea how I got so lucky, but I know I could not have been blessed with a better companion for eternity. I'm excited and looking forward to what the future holds for us! I love you Steven and I am so grateful to be your wife! Happy Anniversary!!

On a side note, we made a big step on our anniversary.....we made an offer on a house in Bloomington, IN. We haven't heard yet if they have

accepted our offer, but they have until Saturday at noon. So for now we are just praying and crossing our fingers that everything goes as planned.

We also splurged on nice new sheets! They are 800 thread count, 100% egyptian cotton, and we absolutely love them!!

USD Graduation 2008

Steven graduated magna cum laude with his Bachelors of Fine Arts on May 10th, 2008 from the University of South Dakota.

He has worked very hard the last couple of years and we are all very proud of him and what he has accomplished! Congratulations Steven!!

We were also lucky enough to have some of his family come out from Utah to celebrate his special day with us. Above is Steven walking/recieving his diploma on the stage, and with his parents after the graduation.

We can not express how thankful we are to all of our family and friends that have supported us along our journey. It has not been easy to be away from the ones we love, but we have had an amazing experience here and we could not have done it without all of your support and encouragement. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
