As per custom Santa came and left the kids big present and stockings filled out in the family room where they would be seen first thing in the morning.
Emma's stocking with her new kitchen.
Mason's stocking and camera that he has been asking for.
All the presents waiting under the tree to be unwrapped.
Mom and Dad's stockings with new socks for mom

The only problem with this was that Santa did not plan on Mason not getting his parents up before sneaking downstairs. Almost every morning Mason will come into our room and need to go potty, but of course this is the morning he decides to go straight downstairs without coming to our room first. It wasn't until we heard the TV that we knew he was awake. I of course was sad because I didn't get to see the look on his face when he saw his camera waiting for him. He did still seem excited about it though by the time we got downstairs and was excited to show us what he got and the kitchen that Emma got. I was surprised to find that he hadn't dug through his stocking yet and was patiently waiting on the couch for us. He was immediately ready to dive into opening presents, but since it was only 6 in the morning we made him wait till Emma woke up on her own. While we waited daddy made us cinnamon french toast and chocolate milk. Since we have been gone so much this past week we never made it to the store to get our traditional cinnamon rolls, so the cinnamon french toast was Steven's sweet attempt at giving us the next best thing and we loved it.

Emma was still sleeping by the time Mason finished his breakfast and it was approaching 7 o'clock and he was growing more and more impatient. I finally decided to go get Emma up, but she wasn't to thrilled about the idea.
She was even less thrilled when I put her down to go see what Santa brought her.
This is me trying to show her the kitchen, you can tell how thrilled she was about it.
Since we were getting no where with Emma Steven decided to let Rosco have the giant bone he got from Santa, although he wasn't so sure about that either.
Finally Mason was allowed to go through his stocking which included silly putty, bath paints, toothpaste, an orange.
Emma finally checking out her kitchen set.
Opening their first presents. They got Mr. and Mrs. Potato Heads.
Mason got a new race car, which sadly broke within minutes of having it out of the box, so it will have to be returned. Talk about a total bummer because it was one of the toys he was most excited about.
Helping Emma open a present.
She got a new touch toy that plays music, sounds, and letters.
Emma excited about opening more presents.
Steven opening his first present.
I surprised him with some new work out clothes.

The kids having some kitchen play time in between opening presents.
Steven and Mason opening up our family gift, a Wii! Mason was super excited about this!
Steven going through his stocking.
Steven sent me on a scavenger hunt for my gifts and it started with a sweet card in my stocking.
Following the clues to find my hidden presents.
Mason playing with his race car for a few minutes before we boxed it back up. The car worked, but where you put the batteries in the controller broke apart. Such a disappointment.
All the cute gifts and sayings that led me to find them. I have the sweetest husband. We had agreed to go small on each other this year, but he still wanted to make it special for me so this was his cute idea to do that. I loved it and it was fun to figure out the clues.
For keeping it small I think we still made out very well, especially the kids.
Steven got his work out clothes, some new hunting shirts, and some cereal.
Mason got: a couple Wii games, a couple new movies, cocoa puffs, the potato head, the Break the Ice game, the remote control car, a new little people rhino, Mr. Potato Head, some new clothes, and his new camera.
Emma got: her new movie, Mrs. Potato Head, her touch toy, a little people prince and princess, plastic food for her kitchen, the kitchen, some new clothes, Trix cereal, and a couple new books.
Overall we had a wonderful Christmas and had so much fun seeing the kids get excited about each thing they unwrapped. They are definitely both at fun ages right now. It was also fun to be able to have Christmas with just the four of us. We love being with extended family, but there is something special about having it with our own little family.
One more picture of Emma playing with Mr. Potato Head.
Merry Christmas!
