Farewell

I don't know where the time went, but my time at St. Luke's is officially over. For me it was a very bitter sweet good-bye. On the one hand I'm excited to start somewhere new, but it's also hard to leave what has become my comfort zone. I'm very grateful for the time that I've been able to work there, for the experience and knowledge that I've gained, and for the friendships that I've made. Thanks St. Luke's and to the wonderful staff on Pediatrics, it's been fun and you will be missed!! Adios!

My Sweet Handyman

I just have to post about my husband and show off what a catch I have. He is such a handyman and even though he went to school full time the last 2 years he has been doing oddball handyman jobs on the side to bring in extra money. Since school got out he has been working on this wood entertainment center for The Coffee Loft (which is a fundraising house/community outreach for the Methodist church). Anyhow, yesterday he finished installing it and below is the final outcome. I think he did an awesome job and I am so grateful for all of his skills.

Now for the "Sweet" part....while my husband slaved away on this entertainment center he sent me away to get a spa pedicure. This is the second time he's sent me to do this and I love it!! Although at first it is kind of weird for a stranger to be massaging your feet and painting your toenails it is still the most relaxing experience ever!! I encourage everyone to try this, even if you don't have a sweet husband to give you the gift certificate and send you there. :)

My Parents

Okay, I know I'm way behind on this, but better late than never right? I know Mother's Day was a couple months ago, but I missed my chance to brag about my mom then so I've decided to brag about both my parents now since Father's Day was just last week.

I just wanted to express my love and gratitude for my awesome parents. They are my heroes and truly the greatest people I know. I can not think of better Christ-like examples. They teach me so much just by their actions and always make me want to be a better person. I look up to them so much and I know that they will always be there for me, regardless the situation. They have been such strong supporters throughout my life, sitting through countless dance recitals, drill team competitions, helping me through college and encouraging me to accomplish my goals. I don't know what I did before I came here to deserve such wonderful parents, but I count myself as one of the lucky ones. Thank you mom and dad for all that you have and continually do for me. I love you!

The Packing has Begun...

The title really says it all, the packing has offically begun, and I am reminded just how much I dislike doing it!! It so much easier when you are just moving across town versus moving to another state 12 hours away!! It is also amazing to see how much stuff two people can acquire in 3 years of marriage, and we don't even have kids! Anyhow, I just thought I would vent about that for a second, because it lets me procrastinate actually doing it for a little longer.

On the upside, all this packing means that we are getting that much closer to our new adventures in Indiana, our month long vacation home in Utah, and our week in Hawaii! I can not even describe how excited we are to be able to spend so much time home with family and friends. The only sad thing is I know that the time is going to go by so fast and before you know it we will be back at work and school.

Breaking Dawn Coming Soon!

Recently I started reading the Twilight series again and incredibly they are just as gripping the second time around as the first. I also found out that the 4th book in the series, Breaking Dawn will be coming out on AUGUST 2, 2008!! I think this is the first time I've ever been excited about a new book coming out. Twilight the MOVIE will also be coming out this December, and I'm very interested to see how it will compare to the book. We are so Blessed!

This morning I was officially offered a job on the Pediatric unit at the Bloomington Hospital. I don't know how we have been so blessed, but everything is falling into place for us. We are so excited that we are finally out of the limbo not knowing phase and that we can actually go ahead with buying our house. We are really looking forward to our new adventures ahead of us!!

This Church will fill the World

I was just reading over my lesson for Sunday out of the Joseph Smith Manuel, chapter 11, and there were some quotes from Joseph Smith that really stood out to me. The lesson is on 'The Organization and Destiny of the True & Living Church' These quotes just remind me of how far our church as come from the day it was organized, and the truthfulness of what Joseph Smith prophesied that the gospel would spread to fill the world. However, it also shows that there is still much work to do, and that we should each take an active part in spreading the gospel.

"Since the organization of the Church of Christ...on the 6th of April, 1830, we have had the satisfaction of witnessing the spread of the truth into various parts of our land, notwithstanding its enemies have exerted their unceasing diligence to stop its course and prevent its progress; though evil and designing men have combined to destroy the innocent,...yet the glorious Gospel in its fullness is spreading and daily gaining converts; and our prayer to God is, that it may continue, and numbers be added of such as shall be eternally saved."
