Well I just got home from my first visit to the Louisville, KY temple. I'm sad to say it has been awhile since I've gone to the temple and I forgot how amazing it is to go. Steven wasn't able to go because he was learning first aid and CPR, so I went with another couple in our ward. It was great to get to be able to get to know them, but the best part was just getting back to the temple. I love that it doesn't matter where you are or which temple you're in the spirit is always there. It truly is a piece of heaven on earth. Once inside I feel like I'm in a completely different world and all my worldly worries fade away. While sitting in the Celestial room I felt an overwhelming sense of love that the Savior has for me, and I was filled with so much inner peace. I felt completely reassured that the struggles we go through in life whether big or small are for our own benefit to help us grow and strengthen our testimonies. I also was reminded that even though sometimes it feels like no-one else has ever experienced the things we go through, that indeed our Savior has felt and experienced all of our afflictions, pains, sorrows, and heartaches, so that he may be able to best know how to help us through our struggles and trials in this life. I am so grateful to know that I am never alone and that I always have somebody to turn to. It was hard for me today to leave the temple and return to reality where Satan lurks in every corner waiting for us to let down our guard. However, I take comfort in that knowledge that I'm never alone and I know the Lord will have my back as long as I am striving to do his will.
On a side note: while talking with this other couple that I went with I was informed that the LDS church now has an official You Tube channel. So when I got home and before writing this I looked it up and it had a clip of a talk that I loved given by Elder Joseph B. Worthlin entitled, Come What May and Love It. Louisville, KY Temple
