Year Two Week Thirty-Nine

I am Iron Man! Na,na,na,na,na, Na-na, Na-na! Daddy and I love to play with my race cars. It's fun to see which ones will go the farthest across the kitchen floor.
For reasons known only to me, I wanted to play in the dark with only my flashlight to guide us. Unfortunately, Mom had work to do so the house wasn't completely dark. I still tried to turn off her laptop but she showed me some fun things instead.

Sometimes the day is so much fun that I cannot go to sleep when I'm supposed to. Instead, I pass out in the middle of my afternoon snack with my hand still in the bowl!

Cheese! And noodles, blueberries, strawberries, and mango juice!

Grandma and Uncle Danny came by to visit us this weekend to celebrate Vincent's 2nd birthday. But who would have guessed that Uncle Danny would be the one to receive the biggest present?! My Dad helped them shop for cars Saturday and Danny found a sweet deal on a 2007 Saturn Ion that he fell in love with. Yay Uncle Danny!

We had an awesome game of baseball Sunday afternoon. I was the pitcher, Shayla was the exuberant cheerleader/fielder, and Vincent was the home-run king!

We also had fun playing Pictureka! for the first time and Aunt Missy won.

I started my potty training on Thursday and improved a little bit each day. I still have a few accidents but I'm getting better every day! I also woke up with dry undies!

Year Two Week Thirty-Eight

Peek-a-boo! I love to hide and scare my unsuspecting parents with a T-Rex sized roar! Here I am in a locker that I fit into quite well. I had so much fun hiding in it that I did not want to get out. But I'm glad that I did because I went swimming! Dad took me to the pool a few times and I had so much fun. I can't wait to go again.
Thursday night I got to play with Shayla and Vincent while their parents saw Avatar. Mom and Dad are planning to see it in a few weeks too. We kids had a ball playing Shayla-says together.

Friday night was our church social and we kids entertained ourselves with board games and tag.

enjoyed Carmen's bridal shower.The Science Center held its annual train expo and I could not contain my excitement as you can see in the video below.

Next to the trains and dinosaurs, the butterflies were a huge hit.

Even though it was fast approaching nap times, we convinced our parents to check out the huge fountain on the way back to the car. We also received free milk from vendors and caught the tail end of a dragon dance!

Mom had her company's holiday party (seriously) Saturday night. A lot of fun times were had like dancing, casino games, good food, and great friends like Stephanie and Chuck Speece.

Let's go through a quick milestone checklist. Sleeping in a big boy bed? Check! Pacifier free? Check! Potty trained? Check back next week!

Year Two Week Thirty-Seven

Foreman Dallin Montoya runs the show and makes sure everything runs smoothly. Coincidentally, I'm learning my full name by singing the Bob the Builder theme with my name instead of the lyrics. "Dallin Ezra, Mon-Toy-A!" I can run while laying down, can you? My Dad found it to be a good workout.
I really want to build a snowman so I'm practicing. Where's the snow that we had last year?

The first Thursday of the month so you know what that entails... The Museum of Flight!

I was so happy to show Vincent and Shayla all of the awesome wonders. "C'mon Vincent! Look at the SR-71 Blackbird! It's my Dad's favorite plane!"

We started our spring cleaning a little early this year but I convinced Mom and Dad to take a break and go for a bike ride.

Our good friend Hillary was in town with her boyfriend Dillon so they played an abridged game of Vegas Showdown and had a fun visit.
Next week is packed with fun adventures like trains, showers, and parties!

Year Two Week Thirty-Six

Dad was trying to teach me how to speed skate but I ended up teaching him how to fly instead. The Winter Olympics are almost here! Grandma had a ton of tumble weeds that invaded her yard so we got to the root of the matter and fired them up in a massive bonfire.
I helped Dad and Uncle Danny take on Mom in an epic Planeschase Magic game that turned out to be one of the best games that we've ever played. But even with our combined might, we were no match for Mom's superior skills.

We traveled back home across the snowy mountain pass in time for a grand new year's celebration with the Kellys. Happy new year!!

While Shawn ran back to put more money in the meter, we lingered outside to enjoy the view. It was a beautiful day!

Year Two Week Thirty-Five

The week before Christmas spent at Grandma Sheila's house truly made it the most wonderful time of the year.

Dad, Aunt Shannon, and Uncle Danny wanted to play tennis so Mom and I joined them at the courts. They found a court that was nearly dry and played while Mom and I played in the piles of snow that had been cleared off to the sides. I played a few rallies on Uncle Danny's team! But I was too good, so I went back to playing in the snow.

We were playing the game Curses. Aunt Missy had to swat away pretend mosquitos if she wanted to talk and Aunt Shannon had to copy everything Aunt Missy did.

In the same game, Mom had to pretend her wrists were glued to her head while at the same time try taking any card that Uncle Danny tried to draw. Uncle Danny was caught off guard when a head of hands and hair frantically came after his card. This was the aftermath. This is a hilarious game.

Everyone ventured to the tennis courts another day. Since the real hoop was out of reach, Shayla was being the "hoop" and I'm trying to make the basket. This was a MUCH colder day, so this outing didn't last as long even though my Dad played very well. Christmas Eve a little four-square and dodge-ball were played. Meanwhile, Mom, Shayla, Vincent, Uncle Shawn, and I went on a walk trying to find frozen puddles to break.

Grandma did this fun activity Christmas Eve that required the parents to hold their kids back until their turn.

Christmas Eve we opened our pajamas and the gift from our cousin. I loved both of my gifts.

In fact, we all got matching Spider-man pj shirts.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

After all the present opening, I, Spider-man, gave Princess Shayla a ride in her new carriage.

I had fun playing with all the new toys...including this new Lego set for all the grand kids from my Great Uncle Randy.

The adults played Acquire as tradition dictated...Mom won.

The day after Christmas we got a sprinkling of snow. We still attempted snow angels.
