Saturday night, we headed to Coney Island to enjoy in the 1st Annual International Fireworks Competition between Mexico, Canada and USA. We were lucky to be able to have Aunt Pam and Grandma come along. The pictures don't show how cold and windy it was. The wind did die down quite a bit before the start of the fireworks.
We were able to sit in the swimming pool, since they had it emptied out for the Winter. You can see the slide in the background of some of the pictures. London and Rustin loved being able to run. Rustin was content to run circles around the area we had staked out. London preferred to take off running from whoever was trying to chase her.
Rustin nearly finished one of the bags of kettle corn all by himself. He would pretend like he was going to share a piece with Pam and at the last second put it in his mouth. It was nice to hold the bag, as you could feel the heat coming from it.
Words can't describe the beauty of the fireworks we saw. It was truly breathtaking. All of the little ones enjoyed them and were amazed. London kept saying, "la la la la and boom boom boom." Madden and Rustin both picked out favorites throughout the night.
On a side note: I saw one of my neighbors outside the other day. She said, "Does your last name happen to be Rozzi?" (The Rozzi's sponsor all of the major fireworks shows in the Cincinnati area.) I started to giggle because Pam LOVES fireworks, so we have been setting them off on Sunday nights. The neighbor continued to say, "about the time I hear them go off and come outside you are done." Thanks Pam for the wonderful Sunday night fireworks shows.
