Tips For Moms

I hear that toddlers can find all sorts of fun things to get into. I read ways to help fix the damage that can be done in Parents Magazine.

Crayons on the walls: Baby wipes, bread, or Mr Clean Magic Eraser.

Pencil on the walls: Baking soda, non-gel toothpaste, or art gum eraser.

Pen on the walls: Dish washing liquid, rubbing alcohol, or Simple Green

Permanent Marker on a Hard Surface or Fabric: Amodex Ink or Stain Remover (Duh!)

Pen on clothing: Milk

Let me know if you have tried any of these. If they work or don't work it would be nice to know, before Madden starts doing it. :)

Beautiful Temple Square

For Family Home Evening, we went to visit Temple Square in Salt Lake with Max and Shayla. The lights were absolutely amazing. If you have the opportunity to go it is well worth your time. The weather was nice while we were there, as well.

Grandpa Gilbert Turns 80

Bryan, Madden and I headed to Utah for Thanksgiving. (This is the first holiday Bryan and I have spent out west, since we have known each other. LUCKY FOR ME!!!) My Grandpa Gilbert turned 80 during November, so the whole Gilbert family decided it would be a great time to celebrate. These pictures were all taken from the "family reunion."Notice the beautiful mountains in the background. We only have hills here in Kentucky.

Aunt Jewls and Aunt Margaret

This is what you call, "Hell on wheels!" These four boys are within 18 months of each other. They will have a ring leader. She is not pictured as she currently resides in China, cousin Tally.

Aunt Shayla with Mad Max. The mad part comes from when he is eating. If his mouth is not as full as he thinks it should be he gets mad.

A Random Thought

Before I commence, let me first say that I love my wife and miss her dearly. Life has been quite boring around the house without her and Madden. I have gotten lots of peaceful uninterrupted sleep. That being said, I made a poignant observation this evening. This is not a reflection on my wife , but rather most women in general.

As I walked around the house collecting the garbage, I noticed something striking. It was such an oddity. I was truly baffled. Not one or two, but all three toilet seats were in their full and upright position. As I reflected on this momentous occurrence a rash thought entered my mind.

Not once since I have been home have I dunked myself in the open toilet. Didn't even come close. In fact, I had no problem with the seat at all this week. Come to think of it, never in my life have I ever accidentally submerged my rumpus in the drink. Why is it that every time I leave it up, someone may have a bad day at my expense. Does that ever really happen? Come on, Really?

Believe me, I have made many quick trips to the bathroom in dire need. Never once did I fail to get the seat down in time or forget to lower it in the first place.

Continuing. If I put up the seat, aren't I being gracious?
Would you rather I tinkle on it? I think not.
Is it so hard to put it down? After all, I lift it.
Why should the throne room be in a constant readiness for you when don't I pee too?

Therefore be glad I made the effort to raise it in the first place! If I forget to put it down, the world will not stop.

We as men do not deliberately leave the seat up, that would be wrong. Quite frankly the thought of lowering the seat rarely crosses our minds.
