Halloween Night

Tonight we decided to get out of the apartment complex and head to a real neighborhood.  So our first stop was dinner at Wendy's.  Chicken Nuggets, Fries and a yummy chocolate frosty.  It's Halloween, Amelie had already consumed more candy than she normally does in a month so a frosty wasn't going to make a dent on her sugar intake for the day.  Why not right?  It's just one day a year!

The neighborhood we hit loved our costumes.  We had so much fun and Amelie got more than enough candy for all of us!  At one point her basket was so full that it kept falling out - so Ben had to stuff his pockets full so it would quit falling out of the bucket!

We had a great time as a family and Amelie loved that everyone kept giving her candy!  Lucky girl!

Tiny Tot Halloween in Old Town

Fort Collins sure knows how to do Halloween for kids!  Today they had trick or treating around old town business'.  It was great!  We trick or treated for about an hour or so and Amelie loved it.  She learned to say Trick or Treat and Thank you.  She also learned how to wait her turn for a treat.  After a while she was done though.  She had more than enough candy and so as we were going to the car, we passed a dance party.  The big end for all trick or treaters.  There was a huge dance party with snacks.  Amelie LOVED it.  It was her favorite part.  She and I got out on the dance floor and danced and danced and danced some more!  She was so sad when I told her we had to leave.  Poor thing!  We will be doing this EVERY year as our new tradition!

Ward Halloween Party

Wanna know how exciting our ward halloween party was?  2 1/2 hours of playing with this balloon, coloring a picture and getting 12 pieces of candy.  Yep - it was that good.

Friday Snow

Thursday night we got 5 or 6 inches of snow.  With that much snow, we HAVE to play in it, and build a snow man!  So we tried to build a halloween snowman with the few items we had on hand.  :)

I wasn't feeling too great Thursday but couldn't pass up the opportunity to play in the snow with Amelie - I mean what kind of horrible mother would I be to not let her outside when there is fresh snow on the ground?!  So mustered up a little strength and headed out the door.  We had a snowball fight and I even made a snow angel.

(I do feel super lucky though that ALL of her winter clothes from last year still fit (even though they are  12 - 18 month sizes)  This means we don't have to cut off our right leg this year to pay for a new winter wardrobe.  How very very lucky we are!!

First Snow

Wednesday, October 24 it snowed for the first time.  We all snuck out for a quick peek while the flakes were falling.  After our quick peek we sat by the window and watched the flakes fall for about a half hour.  They are soo mesmerizing to watch.  Amelie loved it.  And of course we sang Christmas songs - you know, because it's impossible not to when it's snowing.

Chocolate Ice Cream, Life is Complete

Why yes, we do eat ice cream on the couch, with our bib and no shirt while watching cartoons.  Doesn't everyone?  

Dora Band-Aids = BAD

So Monday, after our painting, we took a tub.  Amelie SCREAMED at me that her ribs hurt but wouldn't let me see them (she kept her arm closely clamped down on them)  So we took a bath to wash off the sticky "paint" and she SCREAMED the entire time - bloody murder.  I've never seen her like that.  So we got out as quickly as we got in and that's when we pulled her old Dora band-aid off and I discovered THIS!  As you can see, the red spots are where the GLUE from the band-aid touched her skin.  We think it's a reaction to the glue.  I wrestled her to the ground, pinned her down while forcing her arm up (again, SUPER protective of her ribs) and slathered neosporine all over them (which hurt).  Then we wrapped her like a mummy - putting two dora band-aids on the outside of our bandage.  By this point she started to calm down.

Luckily the FedEx guy came right then and delivered a package for Amelie.  :)  This made her day.
-->  So back story on the FedEx box real quick.  I was at Target last week and they had a ton of toys 70% off - TONS of crayola stuff (bubbles, chalk etc.) and tons of other toys.  I found these magnetic dress up disney princess at 70% and thought they might be nice for church.  So I picked up two sets.  One for us and one for someone else.  When we got home, one package was completely ruined.  The printing was off from the cutting and thus made the outfits unusable.  So I emailed the company to let the know in a very nice way that I ended up with a bum product and others might complain too because it was a printing issue.

Well lucky us they told us they no longer made that item but wanted to send us a replacement item.  What they sent was 10x better than what I bought Amelie and she LOVES it.  It's her "story book" and the timing of it's arrival was PERFECT.  It cheered Amelie up for the rest of the day.

If you have little girls, it's a really great gift to give.  It's only $10 at Walmart and worth the price.
