On my way to running!

I hate running. There is absolutely nothing I enjoy about it. I have been wanting to become a runner and I had excuse after excuse why I couldn't. I have a treadmill and I can walk really fast for a long period of time, I would try to run and I thought wow this is stupid I am not a runner. I hated how my whole body would just jiggle when I ran. My boobs were almost hitting my face and my butt would hit the back of my feet. I'm sure they really didn't, but to me it sure felt like it.

Let's fast forward.

I have lost a total of 60 pounds. I made a goal for myself to run/walk a mile a day on my treadmill for a year. I have done really good at this goal of mine and have actually done more than a mile everyday that I have been on it. I have also realized that my body needs a rest day, a rest day isn't an excuse, but rather needed. I decided to do Couch to 5k to get me running. I'm not training to do a marathon, I just want to be a runner. I would love to do a marathon and I WILL!

I finished week 1 of my C25k on Monday and yesterday I was going to do just one more day of it. When it was time to run, I didn't want to stop at that minute mark so I continued to run and dangit, I found myself finishing Day 1 of Week 2. I almost puked 2 times during my workout. The negative voices were trying to tell me that it was ok to stop my workout because it was my workout and nobody else would know if I quit or if I lied. The positive voices (which I barely ever listen to), told me to suck it up and power through it. It was my workout and I only I could finish it. So that's what I did. I powered through the workout, gave it my all and didn't quit. When I was done I was so proud of myself, proud that I could look back and know that I didn't give up and that I did it.

The 60th pound

What do you do to support our troops?

Everyone has their own way of showing their love and support to our troops. Some deck out their cars, some put a yellow ribbon around a tree, some put together goodie bags, and some grow out their beards? Yes, folks it's true. My dad started growing out his beard when my brother left on his deployment and won't shave until he gets home. Why he chose this I have no idea? But, with it being the Christmas season he is able to get away with it. Now Nathan thinks every Santa we see is Papa. I know that my mom is super excited for my brother to come home so my dad has to shave his furry face.

Hailey also likes to show her support courtesy of a pie-in-the-face on Thanksgiving!

Ever have those days?

I have been in such a funk lately and I just don't know why. Being a stay at home mom can be very challenging. About 4 years I passed up on a good job to become a stay at home mom. I thought it would really benefit my childrens lives, but I just feel like everyday is a struggle. The constant bickering, the constant battles of who hit who first, the constant battles of always feeling alone. I know I am not alone, there are people all around me, but I don't feel like I connect with anyone. I think this is because I moved so many times when I was growing up. I made friends with people and before I knew it it was time to move again and I lost that connection. Then it just became useless to me and I just don't try because it sucks getting close to people and then having it ripped away from you. I am jealous of the bonds that people have with their inner circle. I have always been the one looking in on those circles from the outside. I just want to be a better mom, a better wife, and just be happy. I don't think it's too much to ask for!

200th post!

200th post and what a better way to celebrate than sending the kiddos off for their first day of school! Wahoo! To say I am excited is an understatement. It was a long summer and they were definitely ready to go back (or at least I was heehee). Hailey is now in 5th grade, how did this happen so fast? Taylin is now in 2nd and Nathan will be 17 months tomorrow!

I definitely give this day 2 thumbs up!

*please forgive the red eyes*
