If you consider having 15 unpacked boxes and a few pieces of unassembled furniture "unpacked" then let's begin our story with: Back in July, after we "unpacked" and got all settled into our new home (this is where you laugh), we decided a road trip was in order to go visit my parents and introduce Amelie to her Great Grandmother for the first time. So alas, we packed up the car and headed west for an 8 hour road trip.
Once we got there, there was plenty of adventures for us to enjoy. (Pictures are out of order, as always)
Visiting the park anywhere in the world, is considered a must in Amelie's book. And so we did.
My mother has a huge garden. Imagine your entire back yard to be one huge non stop garden. Yep, that's their backyard. Alas, Amelie was playing with a few birdhouse looking decorations my mom had in the garden and discovered a wasps nest. They weren't too thrilled with Amelie's decision to play with their home and immediately attacked. 2 stings later (and a randomly placed band-aid from her cousin) and she was feeling better. Though to this day, she's afraid of bees, flys and any other small flying insect.
Side story: Just last week, a fly was in the car with us. Amelie was hysterical and crying because the fly kept ATTACKING her. YEP ATTACKING. HE wanted her snack and wouldn't leave her alone. And despite my best efforts of driving AND fly swatting, it took a good 12 minutes before I hit him and stunned him (thank you red light). That only lasted for 5 more minutes before he recovered himself. I have never seen a fly so interested in a human and a human so scared of a fly. I felt terrible for her. But I digress...

Swimming - Amelie's other favorite activity. She was sooo brave and had ZERO fear sliding down this yellow slide all by herself into 4.5 feet of water. I was so proud of her (and scared for my future) all at the same time!
Amelie's cousin Bella has grown out of her Barbie Jeep and alas, Amelie is the lucky new owner of her very first car. She started off the drive with only one had. The other lazily out to the side (clearly all the pictures looked the same and i thought I uploaded the lazy one, but clearly not.)
On our way home (again, totally out of order) we saw a double rainbow. And not just a double rainbow but the ENTIRE rainbow from end to end. When was the last time you saw a single rainbow end to end, let alone TWO! Very very cool.

Another hand-me-down, this awesome dress. How lucky are we to have my sister and her daughter so close!!
Amelie got to see her uncle Kent again. He lived with us for the first 18 months of her life and it's been a few months since she's seen him. But after a few shy moments, she fell back in love with him and they were inseparable.
While visiting my parents, my cousin Suzi got married! I love weddings. Since there was a pretty good size group of us cousins around (from my mom's side) we decided to get a photo done. Tallest to shortest. As you can see, I did NOT get the height gene my mother passed onto the rest of my siblings. Heights range from 6' 4.5 to I'm assuming 5'5"
