Diggers

This is what we do while CG is at preschool.

The End

The stomach bug! Every stinking year we get the stomach bug! I thought that since it was March we were safe. But oh no! A big round of it came to our city and we all picked it up....AT.THE.SAME.TIME!! I thought it was going to be the end of us. CG, Jon and I literally shared a toilet at one point. Oh my gosh that's disgusting. Thankfully, HW never threw up and both kids slept a lot.

We did wake them up to see how crackers would go while snuggling and watching Frozen.

And then it gets worse. At least on my heart. HW got a cold after the stomach bug, which led to his first ear infection, which led to his first prescription. Even though he was taking the medicine, he just wasn't himself. I had that mommy feeling that something wasn't right, but I pushed it aside. WELL a week into the meds, HW woke with a small rash. That rash turned into head to toe red spots and then swelling of the face, lips, fingers! And itching, oh the itching. This momma was scared. We went to the doctor. They gave him a steroid shot. And we think it was an allergic reaction to the meds.

This picture was taken after some of the swelling had gone down. My poor baby!

Then it was 2 weeks of crying and not sleeping through the night. Knock on wood, I think we are all better now!

Random

Some random things.

Repainted the main bathroom and Jon put in new light switches and plugs. So kind of him! Next step is to paint the cabinets...yuck!

My parents came to visit, so we left...ha. We went on a much needed night away to Kansas City.

I do love that my kids can clean with Norwex and it's safe. HW doing his part!

CG LOVES preschool! We are so thankful. This past week her class put together a circus. Here she is being an elephant!

HW eating some blueberries and checking out his face on my phone.

Bowling

Free bowling happens everyday for kids around here so we finally took advantage of it. The kids did great. But one game was plenty!

These Two

CG and HW are buddies. I LOVE when they play together. My heart skips a beat when they talk to each other, laugh, imagine! It's not all fun and games but when it is, it's wonderful.

We went to eat lunch at Freddie's. They had one hotdog and fries. We were their an HOUR! They are such slow eaters. We had a great time!

One day they were so quite so I went to check on them. CG was in bed and HW was working on the computer.

Snacks together!

CG had a chocolate mustache so we were taking pictures...enter HW!

Adventures

This particular day was a great day. The weather was cool but sunny. Jon called me and told me they were tearing down an old apartment complex right across from the stadium. So with CG at preschool, HW and I went to find it.
It was really cool. HW loved it and we found a parking spot right in front of it! Unheard of on campus.

Then later in the day the kids and I were at the store and a hot air balloon when flying right over us. It was the kids first experience with a real balloon! I noticed that it looked pretty low like it was landing, so we jumped in the car and chased it down!! Along with a dozen others.

Dance

CG had her first dance class on Thursday. She did great. We had lots of whining leading up to it for various things so I was a little worried. But as soon as she saw the room with mirrors she was ready to go. She did great!

Glasses

We got glasses! A while back we noticed CG crossing her eye inward when trying to focus. So off to the dr we went. Turns out she is very far-sighted. After a long search and making awkward conversation with a stranger about his child's glasses, we found the perfect place and the perfect pair.

Frozen

I finally gave in and let my kids watch a movie. Yes, my daughter is 3 and has never sat down to watch a full movie. Personally, I'm just not a fan of screen time. But today it was literally freezing outside, so I thought Frozen was only appropriate.

It was an interesting experience. CG has such a tender heart that she cries when people get hurt. She even cries when Curious George gets into trouble. So there were times when I just had to stop it to try and explain what was happening and that it was only pretend.

HW asked me to turn it off at one point. I think it was because he was bored and wanted me to play with him. He did however, perk up at the songs.

In the end, CG wanted to watch it again and has requested Elsa outfits and shoes.

Handy

Jon's been rather handy around here and into projects. This is a beautiful toy box he built with the help from a friend.

Big Girl

Shortly after getting back in town, we switched CG to a big, big girl bed (previously she had her crib converted into a bed). This bed has been in my family for like 30 years. It's been to college twice and it was mine as a little girl. Jon sanded it down and painted it white for our sweet girl. She loves it.

Christmas

Christmas was an adventure this year. We went to Oklahoma, had a great couple of days, and then BOOM! the adventure started. My dad got sick and was stuck in his room for 2 days with fever (border line flu but not flu). The toilet was a mess...yuck. Got the toilet fixed the day after Christmas. Then my mom, brother and I got the 2 day fever. It was terrible, I felt like death. At one point I even broke down crying, I'm no good sick. In the middle of my 2-3 day fever we drove to Texas. Because if we are all going to get sick, we might as well have help instead of being all alone. Then the kids got the fever. We came home via Oklahoma. HW got a second wave of sick. And now two weeks after Christmas, we are getting back to normal. Like I said, adventure.

The before picture :)

Christmas Eve service. CG was adorable. She sat there all cute and attentive. HW was the complete opposite of that. He walked back and forth between us all, got mad about his candle, didn't understand being quite. It was great!

This girl loves dress up. Matching outfits. The dress I am wearing was my moms and the dress CG is wearing was mine. Cute huh.

My boys all cute and matching

The few moments of quite in the car.

This was my sweet girl taking care of me when I was sick. She would check on me and love on me. (I wonder why she got sick)

Starting Christmas

We are on the road for Christmas most of the time, but we want to start our own family traditions. So Monday before we left for Christmas we had our Christmas. We opened our gifts from each other. This year...scooters.

Snow

First snow of the season.

HW had to wear a girl hat because it was all we had. Poor kid. He has since acquired a man hat.

CG in Jon's coat and overalls from when he was a kid.

Horse

This is a horse at one of our local grocery stores. For the longest time I thought you had to pay money to ride it. So I was that mom who never let my kids ride it. Soon enough CG figured out that you just push a button so she has been riding it ever since. HW, on the other hand, wants nothing to do with it. So it's a big deal that he rode it on this particular day. I thought he was having fun, but he hasn't been back on in since.

Program

CG had her first school program. They were adorable, especially our little girl. She stood up there and sang her heart out. Steal my heart.

 Her new friend!
 Her fabulous teachers!

Parade

Yet another parade in our little city. My parents came into town and we set out to be cold for the Old Fashioned Christmas Parade. Every entry was horse related. HW's favorite part was the end when the poop trucks rolled out and picked up all the smelly leftovers.

Tree Decorating

Right after Thanksgiving we set up our Christmas Tree. Jon and I have had this cute little tree since our first Christmas together! It's not much but it gets the job done. As soon as the kids saw what we were doing, there was no hope for evenly distributing ornaments. I truly did not mind, it was perfect.
