Our church has purchased a new system for checking in children and volunteers on Sundays. I'm totally excited about it, it is even touch screen. So after church today the registration team had a meeting to go over the changes.

I love getting together with our running group on Saturdays for several reasons. One of which is this water cooler. We fill it with ice cold water and take it out to the park. What is awesome about it is that we get to take the left over water home and drink it all day long. Since we are addicted to ice cold water, this is pretty sweet for us.

We had a wonderful, fajita filled evening with the Burch family. Kylie, their daughter, showed us a film she is working on that mocks the Jonas Brothers...hilarious. She is really funny and very good at playing several parts. The best part was when Carla made a cameo and played a character called Barbara. Good times!

To my good friend Ashleigh, Happy Belated Birthday! (I won't tell everyone how old you are.) It has been a privilege and honor to call you friend for so many years. We have been through so much together as we have grown up. From playing soda shop in the kitchen and synchronized swimming in the pool to marriage and family. It is pretty awesome watching you become a mom and now expecting your third. You are a creative and talented woman and your girls are so lucky to have you as their mom.

I love to bake. I would even say that baking is my hobby. My ultimate dream would be to open a cookie coffee shop and maybe even have a Food Network special...ha. Jon took this great picture of a chocolate chip pecan cookie that I made tonight. He is way better at taking pictures than me.

It Happened

If finally happened. I fell while running. Well, while warming up at least. I was doing a dynamic stretch where you run backwards. I ALWAYS look behind me even though I know there is nothing in the way because it is a sidewalk right outside our apartment. Well today I decided NOT to look and I fell over backwards. My ankle hit first which caused me to trip landing on my butt and then my right elbow and palms. It doesn't look too bad, but it sure does hurt.

Today I got to hear my brother preach at his church. It has been a long time since I have had the privilege to hear him. I'm so glad that we got to spend the weekend with him and Tiffany. We started the day with a run. Then it was off to breakfast at Ol' South for a tasty Dutch Baby.
Cameron and Jon really enjoyed playing Mario Cart on Wii. Cameron is really good on Wii, but Jon is really good on Nintendo 64. So when they come to our house next time, look out Cameron.
We all took a dip in the pool, including Annie. I don't personally want to publish myself in a swimsuit, so you get a picture of our suits drying.
For dinner we headed to Babe's for some fried chicken. What a smart concept for a restaurant. Everything is served family style and you either get fried chicken or chicken fried steak.

Tonight we are traveling to Fort Worth to hang out with my brother and sister-in-law. Annie had to eat on the go. She was so excited she didn't even get all the way out of her bed to eat. She loves her food!

This was Annie's first encounter with a small, crying baby. She didn't really know what to do, but she desperately wanted to help take care of little Timmy. She was worried about the swing all night, even after Timmy was our of it.

Usually after our long runs we get breakfast tacos, but because of SHIFT today time was an issue so Jon made me breakfast tacos. He even wrapped them up to go. So cute!

Annie knows several words: sit, up, belly, look, ball, bye-bye, Jon, April, etc. She also has a couple of favorite words: food and car. This was her response when I asked her if she would be interested in going on a car ride to pick up Jon. Can you see how fast her tail is moving?!

National S'mores Day

Did you know that today is National S'mores Day? We didn't either until the Fergusons had us over to celebrate. Barie had this open flame contraption so we roasted marshmallows like it was fondue. We had such a great time hanging out, making pizza, and watching the boys fight over Mr. Jon's attention.

We started our day with a nice six mile run with our churches running group. If you aren't involved and want to be, anyone can join us any time. After that a nap. Then we went to see Dinner for Schmucks at the Drafthouse. I'm not really a fan of these types of movies so I wouldn't recommend it, however, if you like bad things happening to good people over a course of 2 hours, go for it.
This evening we Grouponed it with the Kedroskis at Max's Wine Dive. Great food, fun atmosphere, tasty wine, amazing fried chicken.

Today was my last Friday off. To celebrate Jon and I decided to make some decisions. Fun huh?! We would really like to move so I could be closer to the new job, so we looked at our current lease to see what it would take to get outta here. Unfortunately, it would take WAY to much money, but we found out we could transfer our lease to a different complex owned by our current owners. So we went to look at the place. Very nice place, very nice people, but ultimately we decided to stick it out here until our lease is up in February. So keep us in mind early February if you have a condo or house for rent :) and if you want to help us move...

We forgot to get chips at the store for dinner tonight, so we made our own with corn tortillas. Jon's turned out great, mine turned out a bit brown.

We haven't run outside at night since the Trail of Lights in 2006. We usually run in the EARLY morning. It was like opposite day. (this is my interpretation of running at night)

Recently, Jon and I put together this sandwich idea with the help of a recipe, the deli at HEB, and our minds. I love this sandwich. I really do not enjoy the thought of coming home and having to fix a sandwich or opening my lunch box at work and it being a sandwich. But this sandwich is awesome!
Things you need:
Spicy Brown Mustard
Mayo
Horseradish Cheese (Boar's Head is the best)
Roast Beef
Whole Green Chiles
Then grill it like a grilled cheese sandwich. Even if you don't like horseradish or mustard (which I do not) you will LOVE this sandwich.
