While Jon was waiting for the bus yesterday, he was interviewed and it was on the news. You have to watch the first segment then wait until about 1/2 way through the second segment.

Train

Today was Jon's first day to ride the new Austin Train. It was quite an event. He missed the train by about a minute this morning, so he had to wait about 40 minutes for the next one. During his wait one of the local news stations came by and asked him for an interview. Of course, it was on this mornings news so we didn't get to see it. Then this afternoon, he missed the two shuttle buses that take him from UT to the train stop and end up riding a silly bus home, so old school. This is a picture of him coming home today. Mr. Cool!

Getting Ready

Jon and I are going to Chicago on Wednesday. Jon will be conferencing and I will be chilin' with my brother. Well, sweet little Annie has to have a place to say while we are gone so the Murphys have graciously agreed to take her for the long weekend. So, tonight we went over there to get Annie used to the place and used to Josh and Kristen. I think she has settled in quite nicely, what do you think?

Busy Day

Today was a crazy busy day. We got up, ran, showered, then I went to a pampered chef brunch party, came home for a bit, did some Europe stuff, got Jon and Annie to show me their bellies, went to watch the K-State game with friends, then went to have ribs with our Realife Group. Busy, but wonderful day!

We got our carpets cleaned today, but they were still wet when I got home. So...I had to improvise. Who knew that my shoe size was the same as a gallon bag.

Tonight we had the most fun time at the Hunts. We made our own pizzas, caught up on each others lives and enjoyed some of Jon's no bake cookies. Thank you Michelle and Andrew for having us over!

In Oklahoma Annie got a bit spoiled. She loved going outside and relaxing on her chair. We kept the back door cracked open and she just came and went as she pleased. (top picture) Unfortunately, back home, we don't have that luxury so she just sits by the door thinking about the beautiful outdoors. (bottom picture) Poor girl!

We had to come home a day early because of snow in OKC. We left at 7:00 this morning to try and beat the really bad stuff. This is what our car looked like about an hour and a half outside of the snow. If only this had happened at the beginning of spring break, we could have enjoyed the 5-10 inches of snow.

Today I got to see my old and good friends Jessica and Ashleigh. Ashleigh and I met in preschool while Jessica and I met at our old church PCBC. It was so great to see them and catch up. To add to the greatness, my mom and Ashleigh's mom came over to take care of the kids, so we could have a fun girl time. Us girls got to sit and talk while the kids played with bubbles, sidewalk chalk, and painted the fences.

After a really long drive we made it to OKC today. As you can see Annie has quickly made herself at home. She joined us in the empty chair for dinner. Then as we were trying to go to bed, we found her all comfy on the couch, which she is NOT suppose to be on. The little white thing next to her is her new toy, a lamb. Upon receiving the lamb, she promptly made it hers by licking and destroying it.

Jon has been trying contacts for the past couple of weeks. His doctor is totally not communicating with him and it has become a big mess. Jon will say that it is blurry and his doctor will insist that it is not. WHAT! How does she know. So here is Jon talking to the office manager. I don't think he is getting very far, he's now completely bent out of shape about it.

Jon finally made it home today. Annie and are were very excited to see him! It ended up being quite the adventure to get home last night. His flight from Denver was delayed which meant that he would miss the last flight from DFW to Austin so he would have to stay the night in Dallas! NOOO! So after a few talks with the American Airlines peps, he was able to get a direct flight from Denver to Austin with Frontier and was home earlier than expect.

What a great day today was. The only thing missing was my sweet man! Oh how I miss him. This evening we had a picnic at the park with friends. The Loopers cooked hot dogs and hamburgers for us. Then we went back to the Loopers house once it got dark and cold.

Jon is off today to his Man Retreat in Colorado. I dropped him off at the airport at 6:30 am. A wonderful friend used his frequent flyer miles to purchase Jon's ticket and apparently when you do that you get to fly first class! I am so jealous of his amazing adventure, he got a cob salad and a warm (yes warm) chocolate chunk cookie! And of course I forgot my camera...again.

As I get over some nose thing, Jon picks it up. I think you can really see it in his eyes here. He felt so bad today that I had to leave school to pick him up, a glimpse into the future with kids I suppose. I must say he is a trooper, even though he feels terrible he emptied the dishwasher and worked on the laundry. Gotta love him!

We started at church, went to Mighty Fine for lunch with the Magees, came home for long enough to start laundry and make the weekly call to Mom and Dad, went back to church for Believe Lab to become members of our church (finally), then went to Chuy's with the Robisons for a night-cap, then straight home and to bed for us. Crazy busy Sunday! Didn't even get a chance to take a picture. So here is a picture of my mom and dad for your viewing pleasure.

Today took me back to my first year of teaching. I had to pretend that I was an English teacher and I knew what I was talking about when it came to writing. It went pretty well, I suppose living with an English professor helps. Do I even need to capitalize English/english?! Anyways, here are a few samples of leading sentences my students wrote today.

Today is Donna Looper's birthday. She is 21 again. So young ;) We celebrated by going to Benihana Steakhouse. That place is crazy! They throw food at you, make it crawl, and set it on fire! It was a great place to celebrate Donna's day.
