About six weeks ago I was ready for Christmas and waiting for Julie's family to come from Texas for the holidays. This was an exciting time because this year would be the first year Julie and her family had been here for Christmas in nine years. 2020 was a rough year, not only because of Covid, but because Charlie had not felt well and had lots of health problems. Because of Covid, I had done a lot of jigsaw puzzles, passing the homebound, boring days. I decided to pull out my Christmas puzzles and work on those before Julie came. This snowman puzzle is one of my favorites; unfortunately, when I got to the end of it, there was a piece missing. I hate that!!!
Because it is one of my favorite puzzles, I decided to look on line and see if I could find another one just like it. This one is 500 pieces, and the only duplicate I could find was a 1000 piece puzzle. I decided to order it. It came and after all the Christmas commotion died down, I opened up the new one and decided to do it. All the pieces were there and I was happy.
Last week was President's Day. Most years, around that holiday, we pull out one of our patriotic puzzles and Charlie and I work on it together. This year was no exception. As we worked on the puzzle and were coming close to the end with only a few pieces left, I noticed that there was an extra piece. You guessed it!!! It was the missing piece from the snowman puzzle! The piece was red and white and blended right in with the shapes and sizes of this puzzle, so that's why I didn't discover it until we only had a few pieces left. So bizarre!!! How in the world did it get into that box? When I had done the snowman puzzle, I searched the entire house and particularly the rug under the table where I had done the puzzle. It was nowhere! Also, the presidents puzzle had not been out of the closet upstairs since the year before in February, and I'm not positive we even did this puzzle last year. Luckily, I did not get rid of the 500 piece snowman puzzle; I pulled it out once again, put it together and YES, the missing piece had indeed been found!!!
