Dan was in the Special Needs Mutual Road Show with his buddy, Lamar, and was fabulous! They were in 'The Lion King." Just wanted to put this little invitation in the book so Dan could remember his year of service!

Baby, Baby!

Last weekend we had a baby shower for Debbie and Tiffany.  I divided up the day and had people from the ward come in the morning and then family come in the afternoon.

Charlie and the boys went down to St George, so it worked out perfect!  I had the house to myself.  I ended up with the flu, which began on Wednesday.  The boys left town on Thursday.  I felt a ton better on Friday, so I got up and tried to get the house ready.  I needed to go to Zurchers to get the paper products and while I was there it hit me again.  I got so sick in the store I could hardly walk out to the car.  I managed to get home and back into bed.  Grandma and Marilyn ended up doing all the food for me and I spent most of the day in bed.  I was exhausted after getting up and showering and getting ready.  I can't remember the last time I had been so sick!  It was awful!!!  The shower was a success, though and the girls got tons of stuff!!!!  The funniest thing about the whole day was that somehow Cameron and Hailey went into Tom's room and found the stash of packing peanuts that he had in there.  They ended up all over the room!  Anne was mortified!!!  She was so embarrassed and upset!  Looks to me like Hailey may have had a partner in crime!????  Here are some pics!  

What a fun three days!!!

We've had three family weddings the last three days and it was so fun being together and seeing everyone each day, especially the nieces and nephews that we never get to see!

Happy Birthday Cade!!!!

Cade is getting closer to the big 3 0!!! He is 29 today! Cade is such a great son-in-law and a lot of fun to have around. Just ask him anything you want to know about the Jazz, including how bad they have been the last couple months, and he'll tell you!!! He and Tiff have been thrown into parenthood the hard way, but he is a cute dad; very protective already!!! We love you Cade! Thanks for being "really, really great!!!"

Last Bishop's Wives Luncheon :(

Today I had all of the Bishop's wives over for a luncheon. It will be the last one that I have, because Charlie will be released at Stake Conference on April 10th. Even though I only have done this for three years, it has been a great thing...one of those things I wish I'd have started nine years ago! We had a great time, just talking and being together. The conversation seemed to center around me, though, which I hate! Everyone was so nice in asking about the twins and about how it was going to be having Charlie around. I felt kinda dumb, but we still had a good time! They are such great women and I will really miss being involved with them! Even though we didn't really do alot together, we have just had a bond of our husbands serving together and I will really miss that. We had Laurie Egbert, Marie Monson, Alison Newitt, Teri Jensen, Janet Pearson, Jane Anne Woodhead, Sherry Hancock, Lisa Farrington, Debbie Morgan and Lisa Williams. Kendra Davis was the only one who couldn't come and we missed her! We had Susie's chicken salad (lettuce, chicken, green onions, cashews, grapes; yum!) rolls, carrots, olives and cherry tomato, and for dessert we had Heath bar cake, which totally fell apart!!! Tasted really good, but didn't look so great! The blessings of service in the church far outweigh anything some might call sacrifice!

Tom movin' on...:(

Yesterday Tom said to me, "Well, tomorrow's the day." "Day for what?" I asked, not expecting the answer I got. "I'm movin' out, " he said. I was shocked! I had known that he has wanted to move out for a long time, but I figured that I would have a little more time to prepare psychologically for it. So we packed him up and moved him to his new (new to him) apartment. It was sad for me, but he was so excited to be on his own. I'm sure gonna miss him, though!

Cliff passed away

Last Wednesday Cliff passed away about 7:30 a.m. He has been struggling for a while, so it was a blessing, but it was still not really expected. The miracle in all of it was that Milt was there. He had spent the night, which he does once a week because he's doing some kind of an internship us at the University Hospital. What a blessing that it happened to be the morning that he was there! Bev is doing pretty well, but I'm sure that when all the hubub from the funeral dies down she will be pretty lonely. The funeral was very nice. . .over in an hour and five minutes!

Cliff was the uncle I saw the most because he and Bev were right next door to Grandma. He was pretty quiet and didn't say much, but was very nice. My Dad is now the only man left in the family. All my mom's sister's husbands have died and her only brother has passed away as well.

Clifton Wesley Johnson 1919 ~ 2011 Clifton Wesley Johnson died peacefully at home in Sandy, Utah on February 23, 2011 from natural causes due to aging. He was born December 31, 1919 to Frederick Hans and Viola Grace Brown Johnson in Crescent, Utah. He was the fourth of eight children. He attended Crescent Elementary, Draper Junior High, and graduated from Jordan High School. He married Beverly Jaynes in Crescent, Utah on May 21, 1941. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. They would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this coming May. He was employed at Utah Fireclay and later at Kennecott Copper in the Ore Haulage Department where he retired in 1983 after 41 years of service. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Among his many positions of service were: secretary of the High Priests group, stake missionary, branch clerk for the Crosslands Branch, he served in the Jordan River Temple for 19 years. He loved playing baseball and softball, coached, and played 3rd base for many seasons. He loved music and singing. He was a member of a quartet singing a variety of music from sacred to barbershop. Served in the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the destroyer tender, U.S.S Whitney. He is survived by his wife, Beverly of Sandy, Utah; sons, C. Ronald (Glenda) Johnson of Wellsville, Utah; Stephen W. Johnson of Canada; Jaynes Milton Johnson (Christine) of Hyde Park, Utah; two sisters, Vernice Carroll and Marva Smith; daughter-in-law, Carol Johnson of Island Falls, Maine; 21 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 28, 2011, in the Crescent 30th Ward Chapel, 89 East 11000 South, Sandy, Utah at 11:00 a.m., with a viewing one hour prior to the service. There will be a separate viewing Sunday evening, February 27, 2011, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State St., Midvale. Interment in the Crescent Cemetery. In lieu of flowers we request that donations be made to the LDS Missionary Fund. The family would like to express appreciation for all kindnesses and condolences shown.
