Stockshow 2012

We went to the stock show this week, it was a beautiful day and we had lots of fun.

The kids love riding in the wagon, Lily especially likes riding in the wagon, Andrew takes care of her making sure she has her snack cup and water cup at all times.  Drew liked holding the map.

 They had these cute cow ears for the kids, so I tried to get a picture of the kids and this was the best I got.  Lily did not like the ears on her head and Andrew kept trying to force them on her.

 We were in a room full of hands on exhibits of cotton and other agricultural stuff and Andrew was drawn to the tv’s.

 There was a little petting zoo, here is Andrew meeting a Llama.  I liked the Llamas because they look like they are always smiling with the teeth.

 Andrew did not stop smiling, he loved all of the attention he got from the goats.

 I love that smile.  When we got home I told Bobby I really want to get a goat and some chickens for Andrew to play with in the backyard, because he loved them so much.  Then I remembered that  we have a dog that I can barely feed and take care of, so adding more animals is probably not the smartest thing for us.

 Andrew waited so patiently, but he was ready to ride the pony.

 Andrew rode Pocahontas and loved every minute of it.

He held on tight and really enjoyed riding the horse.  Bobby and I were happy we waited in line for Andrew to ride the pony.  When it was over he wanted to ride the pony again.  I guess he needs a pony! haha

We had a lot of fun.  Andrew got to eat a corny dog and Lily got to eat funnel cake for the first time.  She loved it along with breading from the corny dog.

Sleepy Head

 Lily took advantage of the rainy day and let me persuade her into taking a morning nap.  It would be so nice to be a baby and be able to sleep whenever you want and eat as much as you want.

 Bed head.  I keep Lily’s passi’s in her crib, she has around 7 of them that I keep in her crib since I am trying to only offer them to her when she is sleeping and I like her having extras to find so she can go back to sleep on her own in the early morning hours.  She has a game that she plays every time she is in her crib.  She throws the passi’s out of them bed in the corner of the wall.  When she wakes up I give her the one’s that didn’t find and she loves showing me her game.  I remember Andrew doing something similar when he was her age.

 I took the passi out of her mouth to try to get a picture without, she didn’t like that idea.

 She got the passi back and then heard a knock on the door, well really she heard a excited toddler bust into the room shouting “Lily’s awake!!!!"

Then I let Andrew get in the crib with Lily and he used her as a pillow, Lily didn’t like that idea much, but she put up with it.

We stayed home for the day and had fun playing with all of our toys.  I think Andrew really enjoyed being at home today and he played with almost every toy in his room.  We focused on potty training today, I wish I could say it went great but, it was a lot of work.  It will be interesting to see when Andrew decides to focus on it too.

Both kids took afternoon naps at the same time, so I had a lovely afternoon and Bobby was home for the evening.  It was a good rainy day, but we want the sunshine to come out soon.

100% Boy

 Lately Andrew’s behavior has been reminding me that he is 100% boy and I am not.  I read the book Raising Boys by Dobson when Andrew was 1 years old and I couldn’t imagine the wild, sports and outdoor loving boy that Andrew is now.  I love watching him play happily outside and the way his face lights up when Bobby wrestles with him and I now will wrestle with him on days Dad works to help Andrew get energy out and then he won’t make Lily wrestle with him as much.

Andrew loves to eat in the back doorway, he calls it his “step”.  Lily and I ofter eat outside on a blanket and Andrew watches us while eating on his “step.”  On Sunday after church Andrew wanted to eat on his “step” it was a beautiful day and he happily ate his cheese stick, lunch meet and bread for lunch.  That is his favorite lunch to eat.

 The way he is sitting in this picture reminds me of Bobby and makes Andrew look so grown up.

Tonight, Tuesday it was cold and raining and Drew was outside playing t-ball in the rain having a blast.  

 I cannot get this boy to wear a coat, I guess he is just refusing to get cold.

Lily can’t wait to go out and play with Andrew, I have a feeling as soon as she starts walking they will be backyard buddies.  For now she loves watching him from the back door and I have to keep a eye on her because she will try to army crawl out the door if Andrew leaves it open.

I cannot stop taking pictures of that smile, Lily really does smile all day long.  I love that I have so many pictures of her beautiful smile.

Family Fun Days

 We had a nice laid back weekend with Bobby at home with us.  It was Bobby’s last weekend off before school starts this upcoming week.

It was so warm on Friday Lily got to wear her sparkarly gladiator sandals that never fit this summer.

 Saturday was a fun day, the kids slept in, and I made pancakes for breakfast.  We got to have friends over for lunch and we spent the evening playing with the kids.
