Visiting Granny and Pop

Andrew had a fun visit with Granny and Pop this week.

Every visit requires a snack at the kitchen table, today it was crackers.

The remote is the first toy that he goes to at their house.

A new favorite thing to do is play guitars with Pop. Here Pop is tuning Andrew's guitar.

Guitar/ stroom

Andrew loves guitars right now. When we were in labor Andrew got to go to the Guild life group, and played with a toy guitar with some other kids. He came home saying "stroom" we think he is saying "strum." He turned his stick horse into a guitar and turns on music toys and plays his guitar to the music saying "stroom." He even closes his eyes when he plays, like a little worship leader.

Bobby got his guitar out, and Andrew has so much fun playing with dad. We made sure Andrew doesn't know where the guitar came from in the house so that he won't go get it or whine for it.
At Nana's house he has a little toy guitar, he played it while I played the piano.

The first thing he says when he walks in the door at Nana's is "stroom" and runs to the room where it is kept.
Hopefully one day he will be able to lead our family in worship songs on the guitar.

Bobby made a beautiful display shelf for Lily's room. It came together quite quickly and looks great in her room.

Sunday

This past Sunday was Lily's first Sunday to go to church. She got all dressed up.

She slept through the whole service.

We tried so hard to get a picture of Andrew, he and Lily had coordinating outfits on that would make a beautiful picture. This is the best one we got. I love our active little man.

Flower Power

Our little Lily bug got squeaky clean on Saturday night for church in the morning.

Spring is Here

Andrew is transitioning into spring. It has been pretty hot here and Andrew takes after his dad. Bobby and Andrew are still wearing boots, and Andrew has no problem wearing them without socks and with shorts. Andrew has really enjoyed shoes lately, most mornings he changes shoes about 4 times (that is how many pairs he has) he also lines them up on the coffee table. We are really enjoying Andrew's fun personality.

Andrew really enjoyed the Easter egg candy Gigi got him. He is still enjoying using the eggs as a snack cup and as a basketball for the goal in his room.

Lily

Before Lily was born I felt the Lord tell me that Lily was was going to be the beauty and calmness in the midst of chaos. The flowers budding and blooming are reminding even more of this. Then at life group we were praying for the kids and a friend said she heard the Lord say peaceful when she prayed for Lily. Later in the week we went to the Dr. for her 2 week check up and he kept commenting on how peaceful she was during the exam. Bobby made a sign for her room that says peace. We are excited to see how the Lord will use Lily to further his kingdom.

In a previous post I said that Lily has not been using the passi much, well that has changed. Lily has decided that she likes the passi now, but only a certain kind. Right now she mainly uses it when she is awake.

2 weeks

Today it has been 2 weeks since Lily was born. It is hard to believe she has been here that long. I still look at her and can't believe that Andrew was this little at one time, time goes by so fast, I wish I could keep her this little a little longer :)

Lily has been doing well, most nights she sleeps really well and goes back to sleep after eating and getting her diaper changed. We go to the Dr. on Wednesday, I am anxious to see how much she weighs. She has been growing, I can tell by the way her clothes fit, she has almost out grown her newborn clothes.

I am ready to be fully recovered from labor, I had been trying to rest more after not feeling good on Saturday. Thankfully my hip is slowly healing. Bobby has been doing a great job taking care of me, Drew, Lily and studying for his pharmacology test.

I can't wait to post pics if the woodworking project Bobby has made for Lily's room.

Gigi and Boompa

Gigi and Boompa came to visit this past weekend to meet Miss. Lily and see Drew and the rest of us. We had a nice relaxing visit. I wasn't feeling to great so it was nice to have family around to love on Lily and Andrew.

Nap Time

We take our naps seriously here at the Caivano house, hopefully Lily will take after her brother and be a great sleeper. So far we are on the right track.

DIRT

Andrew and Decker have teamed up. Decker dug this hole where a old tree has rooted out. Andrew is using it as a sand/dirt box.

Dirt is so much fun to play with.

Andrew has really enjoyed playing outside with Bobby in the beautiful weather.

Girls will be Girls

Bobby left to go study and Andrew was in bed, so Lily and I had a little fun playing dress up. When the boys are away the girls will play.

Crib Fun

Andrew has been asking for Lily to get in his crib with him. So after his bath (that is why his hair is wet) Lily joined him for a few very supervised minuets.

Andrew made sure that he and Lily were covered with all 4 of his special blankets. He wanted her to get the full crib experience.

Andrew has never really put his hands in his mouth before, until now.

I love these 2 kiddos so very very much!!!

bath time fun

We gave Lily her first bath at home and it was a hit. We thought it would wake her up, Bobby and I had forgotten how relaxing a bath is for a new born. Lily loved the bath just like Andrew did.

It took a little adjusting to at first. Look at those adorable roles on her little thighs.

Then she quickly turned into this. This picture reminds me of Andrew.

becoming a family of 4

It is hard to believe that Lily has been here for one week. We celebrated her birth at 4:06 am this morning by sleeping right through it!!! We have been having fun, hanging out and seeing friends and family. It is kinda weird that we haven't been doing our "normal" schedule, but we have really enjoyed having Bobby around more. He and Andrew have had lots of good bonding time, playing outside in this beautiful weather.

This is one of my favorite pictures right now. Bobby said the first time he saw the picture, it hit him that he really has 2 kids now.

Reading our 1st book to Lily.

Look at those beautiful eyes. Andrew has been adjusting so well. It is so sweet to see him love on his sister. He speech has really taken off these past couple of weeks. He has met so many of his speech goals. It is such a answer to prayer, the therapist said he would probably regress, when Lily came. We are over joyed to hear more of his sweet voice.

This is a funny pose, but Andrew wore his italia soccer jersey that my aunt got him from Italy, that night we had pasta with olive oil sauce and Andrew got olive oil all over his hair when he put the bowl on his head. We were joking that he was embracing his Italian roots.
