JTEKT Thermo Systems Ltd. is a large, internationally active company headquartered in Nara, Japan. JTEKT Thermo Systems is exclusively represented in Europe by Crystec Technology Trading GmbH, Altötting, Germany.
In July 1958 the first company activities began as a collaboration between the Lindberg division of General Signal, a world-leading company in the production of semiconductor production equipment and furnaces, and Koyo Seiko Co., Ltd., one of the world's largest bearing manufacturers. The aim was domestic production of thermal production equipment in Japan. In July 1967 this division was converted into an independent company to expand technical capabilities and establish a powerful sales organization. The new company was named Koyo Lindberg Ltd. The latest findings from US production technology were thus combined with Japanese attention to detail and high product quality. Initially production was for the Japanese market and then increasingly for export. Technical development resulted in products that fully meet the requirements of the steel and automotive industries, the electrical, electronic and semiconductor industries, as well as LSI and FPD production.
After the takeover of General Signal by SPX, the joint venture was dissolved in April 1999 after 31 years and 9 months. The company thus became 100% owned by Koyo Seiko. Since October 1999 the company has been trading under the new name Koyo Thermo Systems Co., Ltd. In January 2006 Koyo Seiko merged with Toyoda Machine Works. Both companies belong to the Toyota group. The newly formed company was renamed JTEKT. In 2022 Koyo Thermo Systems was finally renamed JTEKT Thermo Systems Corporation. JTEKT Thermo Systems is therefore a 100% subsidiary of JTEKT and will continue to demonstrate strong commitment to the development of the latest technologies and thus help shape the world of production furnaces in the future.
