Through Expedia we bought the "Ultimate Bachelorette Party Pass" which give us VIP entrance to 15 different clubs (along with some free drinks). Probably not the most effecient use of $89 since I'm not much of a clubhopper (I prerfer to find a good place and setup camp- "a bird in the hand" and all...), but since we don't know the scene I was trying to keep our options wide open.
So, what suggestions might you have for clubs close that are good for drinking and dancing with people anywhere in the age range of mid 20's to late 30's?
I guess the days of the cheap Vegas weekend are long gone. I’ve planned a 3-day bachelor/ bachelorette party trip for me and a couple friends for the last weekend in July and just my portion of the hotel+airfare is already costing about what I was hoping to spend on the whole thing. Now I have a month to scramble to have money for food, cabs, clubs and attractions. I’ll have to do everything in moderation, which is the exact opposite of the reason for going to Vegas in the first place.
I’ll be traveling with a guy and a girl-all of us in our mid/late 30’s and we’re staying at the Flamingo on the Strip. The plan is to hit the Olympic Garden on Friday night; club hopping Saturday night and checking out attractions all day Sunday, with plenty of gambling and swimming in between. And I’m hoping to catch a cheap comedy show, maybe at the Riviera. Maybe the Star Trek ride.
…But none of this is set in stone. What suggestions and/or secrets can you Vegas veterans and natives offer me for maximizing my money and having the wildest time possible?

So the idea has been tossed around about me hosting a St. Louis lj bash. Which I am MORE than happy to do! So let's see what kind of response we get and whether it's worth me getting into Hostess mode. (it's my favorite thing to do, I should of been a party planner)

Okay, I need some advice on what to do. When I went to check out of the Luxor last night I got a bill for over $1,500. I've heard stories about how hotels rip you off with phone charges, but like a dumbass I didn't think it was going to be that bad and used the phone in my room a few times. I ended up with over $800 in phone charges! There were some calls where I was charged $11 for less than one minute! I got them to refund me for those calls. I got a refund of $184 back on those. I still have a phone bill of $650. Some of it is dumb bs, like $14 for a minute or two. I don't know how to handle this. Do I call them and bitch at them some more and let them know that I am only willing to pay about a quarter of that (which if you saw the calls that I placed you would realize it is reasonable), or do I go to my credit card company and refuse the charges? I can't believe I did something so stupid like us the hotel phone. I knew it would be a lot. I just didn't realize it was going to be that much! Is there any legal way to get out of having to pay so much?
I find it rather amusing that we're all online continuing the Vegas bash by posting pics and commenting like a bunch of rabid monkeys in each others journals

I have to say anytime I go Home to Vegas I am happy...coming home after being deployed for nearly 18 months made it better and getting to hang with all the LJ people made my homecoming the best. ohmyheadfiolorenbbmomchiabritzorrapsychomagnetbehindtheviewjenontrobonthorsepuckyjustjjenfromtxzorra Did I mention her twice? Yeah she was kinda hot! I could live in St Louie...Well let's see what I remember: Nice Convertable...ohmyhead always fun (we need to hang out more), Mom calling me 10x to make sure I would see her too, My brother bailing on me for a date (hope he got laid), lots of alcohol, lots of gambling, Intorducing Krispy Kream to the the Masses, old friends new friends, Vegas women are easy, Sharing my favorite Italian Resturant in Vegas...you others missed out!, more alcohol, lost cameras, lost self mojo, found mojo, Tour guiding, meeting someones adorable yet taken sister (Damnit!) Did I miss anything or anyone? Let me know I had a ball. It is so nice to be home and get to see some good friends...Love ya, mean it.
It was fun times. Too bad it was so short. Was real cool to meet some people I wanted to meet for a long time. In some cases, a REALLY long time. Sorry to those who I didn't have a chance to mingle with, but there is always next time :)

I headed out to Vegas so nervous and unknowing of what to expect. That lasted all of about 15 minutes. To anyone I might have annoyed with my instantaneous bursting out in song or my uncontrollable urge to be a chatter box, many apologies. But, because of you, I experienced this:
I haven't smiled like that in ages. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! When's the next bash? I miss y'all already!! In case you haven't seen the rest of my pictures, I posted them on RobOnt. I really do feel like I made some great friends this weekend. I also made some unforgettable memories that wouldn't be given the proper justice if I tried to recap them here. I suck at names and I suck at who was there and who wasnt because for the most part I would say that I just met most of you for the first time. Meaning, I didnt even have you on my friends list before this.
I was super happy that you guys waited for me to arrive before dispersing on Friday night. I showed up like the Princess that I made myself, late and enjoyed the paparazzi flashbulbs. I had to give myself a quick deoderant check and brush the toothies though and when I came back, alot were gonzo. House of Blues was excellent and I snarked down a crapload of food (mine and other's food) and took time to get to know jennfromtx who i think is turning into my scarecrow... Listening to nbbmom 's sultry loss of voice... Hugging on jenont who seemed so happy to meet me which made me feel really happy. listening to everyone and snarking down enough beer to catch up made me tired so the buddy system began and I dragged jennfromtx to the tables so I could lose 20 bucks. Zeee dark CURTAAAINS called her though and I sat there until the 20 that i turned into 120 was gone and attempted to make it back to the room, stumbling drunk, that I had not seen but for 4 minutes. Passed out about 3am vegas making it a full 24 hours of sleeplessness.
Woke up WAY too early and was afraid to wake anyone so I showered, dressed and wandered around the Luxor for a couple hours, made a phone call, had OJ with petermarcus and behindtheview before parting and then went to the pool. This is where I mysteriously disappeared to. Apparently, the sun and the lack of extra oxygen makes you sleep. Power nap. Called robont whom i had NO CHANCE to hang with at this point and was informed that I had 45 minutes to shower and meet everyone for a trip to the NY NY.
Did that but opted to drink myself silly instead of rollercoaster and this is where I found my inner princess...
oh yeah, so glad that nobody with a video camera got me running down the moving walkways asking LA gangbangers to bow to me... (no horsepucky I did not forget the hearty slap on the ass, I will remember that forever, or for a week or so until the bruises heal). Burp alot, yes I do. eat alot, yup that too...
Gambled more with josh and jenn and was told that in order to go play i had to abandon the crown (which I wore all through the gambling) did a quick change and headed out with jennfromtx and Josh to meet up with the crew. Drink Drink OOOOH look who is over there... its inspectorjury!!! dive over people to tackle him and became his personal photographer. (this is only admitted if his pictures came out decently). Snuggled with andysoft and horsepucky and robont while talking to all the LJers that rotated along. I pretty much stayed in the same spot that entire night and drank and drank... what I want to know is... who do I owe for that bar tab... nobody would tell me!!! Buddy system abandoned (sigh) I never got a chance to say bye to my some day roomate jennfromtx or anyone that went to the OPM place. Hung out and danced around with mah girls nbbmom and behindtheview which was caught on video (cough) and tried to show them the princess dance. The rest is rather blurry. 4am maybe? I know I woke up -$200 more bucks and with bag in hand stumbled into ohmyhead and nbbmom in the lobby. WHICH i was so happy about but rather glassy. CLearly still drunken. got to the airport where I was on the moving walkway and glanced over to zippyd BOWING to me like the gang bangers!! ha ha ha what a treat!!
OK these are only a few of the 300-400+ i have mostly when we went out ot the desert and vegas stuff... but these are people/user pics from the first night on friday. Didn't have much time to play with them cause gawd i need a shower :)
The best part of the night(s) for me was just hanging back at the meeting places and just seeing everyone there talking and getting to know one another. I want to thank J for taking care of things down there and to justj and Kris for Saturday night.
You know, its hard to try to remember back, even for only a couple of days, and try to give you a picture of the time we spent and what we did. It can't really be explained, it has to be experienced. Those that have come to these LJ get togethers know how it is.... try to give a day to day, minute by minute accounting of your time and you fall short. It just can't be done.
All I know is that I got to reconnect with those that I haven't seen in too long a time, meet some really kickass people, and experience another get together that I will treasure forever.
As the story goes, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, but will live forever in my heart.
Wow. Vegas. Wow. I think it might be a little much for the uninitiated. Maybe it was just me. I dunno. It just seemed so overwhelming! Maybe we just tried to do too much in the three days we were there.
