Misc Happenings

Sorry I have not updated the blog in such a long time but here are a bunch of updates. Here is a quick update on the kids and some random misc pictures from spring and early summer.

Wyatt: He continues to be very high energy, loving, independent, stubborn and care free. He loves to play outside, watch cat in the hat, ride his bike, ride in the Mustang, and just be all boy. It seems like everyday he has a new bump, bruise or scratch from playing too hard and taking spill or just that he is a bit uncoordinated. Listening is a struggle for him and he challenges Max and I on a daily basis but he is teaching us many things about being patient parents but he is such a joy. He loves his sister very much, when Kaylynn moved into the same class as Wyatt he would protect her if someone was bugging her, it was really sweet. He is really into the "Why" stage and asking many many questions and he is learning everyday. He is doing great with potty training and rarely has an accident.  He has started taking a nap only about every 2 to 3 days which means he is very tired and sometime cranky at night. At his three year appointment he was in the 25th percentile for weight which is awesome since he had been under 5 percentile for awhile. And he is in the 75th percentile for height.

Kaylynn: She is really coming into her own personality and starting to test her boundaries. She loves to play outside, play iPad, swim, and swing. She moved up to the next class in April and she really started to  talk more and more. The class just challenges her more than the other class did. She can count at least to 10 and at time up to 13 or 14. She knows her ABC's and is starting to recognize colors and naming them correctly. Kaylynn also loves to play with her brother, at times it is hard for her to keep up with him but she loves to try.  And let me tell you she is going to hold her own with him, he picks on her and she stands up for herself which is nice to see. However, she has learned how to push his buttons as well. For instance when we are in the car she will say that a she sees a Mustang or cement mixer or flex but then she adds -- "and its on my side" knowing that Wyatt will come back with no it is on my side and then they will go back and forth bickering. But she does have a bit of an attitude and is a bit demanding that we are dealing with for instance she says "I don't want to" and she will tell me to "Come here, Right Now" in a demanding voice. But she is a sweet loving little girl that brightens our family.

Boss 302

On June 7th the latest addition to our family was added. Her name is Khaleesi and she is a 2012 Boss 302 Mustang. Max sold his older mustang to get this car. Wyatt loves to ride in the Mustang and Kaylynn is still getting used to riding in the car. She got a bad taste in her mouth for Mustangs because she did not like the wind blowing her hair when she rode in the convertible. Max and I have got to take it out on a couple of date nights which has been awesome to enjoy the great weather we are having and to spend time together. 

We went out and took some pictures of the kids and the car -- some of them turned out really good.

Memorial Day at the Lake

Memorial Day this year was packed with Celebration. We celebrated 3 birthday's Alex (21), Max (34) and Mom (54). Which meant cake everyday so the kids were overjoyed. The weather was not the greatest but we made the best of it. Christy, mom and I went garage sale shopping and that was fun as I have not been garage sale shopping forever. We found some good deals. The kids played outside a lot and Wyatt took a pretty good spill and scratched his face up but he was tough and was right back pushing Lightning McQueen around. The water was a bit cold but the kids did take a boat ride and got into the water for a little bit.

I will end with a funny Wyatt and Kaylynn story. They both had smoothies in a cup and Kaylynn wanted the orange cup Wyatt had but he did not want to give it to her so as she was whining for the cup here is what he said as he pointed his finger at her: Kaylynn Drink it or Not ...... (pause) it is your decision.  (He must hear that alot)

Costa Rica

Max and I took our first vacation out of the country and away from the kids. We went to Costa Rica for a week and enjoyed the relaxation and time we got to spend together. We went on a few adventures while we were there - zip lining, white water tubing, horseback riding and hot springs. We also drove around to different parts of the country. Max tried surfing for the first time and actually did pretty good and got up on his board a couple of times but we forgot the camera so I could not capture the moment. We went on a Catamaran ride and saw dolphins, snorkeled and saw a puffer fish. We had an awesome time but we were happy to be home to our little cuties :).

Baptism

After Wyatt's 3rd birthday party Kaylynn, Wyatt and Reagan were all baptized at Faith Lutheran Church in Troy. The kids were dressed in clothes made by Grandma Bobbe out of mine and Michelle's wedding dresses. We took the kids to church which was a bit of an adventure since we were seated in the front and an hour service is a little long for the kids to sit through (especially after no nap). Fortunately they did really well. The pastor was great with Kaylynn and Wyatt and let them touch the water prior to baptizing them. Thanks to everyone for coming and making this day special for Kaylynn, Wyatt and Reagan.

Happy 3rd Birthday Wyatt!!

Well it was Wyatt's first Birthday party with friends and we decided to hold it at the Troy fire station. We invited his whole class and we had 9 little boys and Kaylynn at the party (she was really out numbered).  The kids arrived and played on the firetrucks for a little while, then we ate pizza, played pin the fire hat on the dalmation, opened presents, ate cake, used squirt guns to put out a "burning" building and then Sparky the fire Dog came. If it sounds like a jammed packed two hours it was but the whole party went off very well. The kids were kept entertained and had a lot of fun. Mommy and Daddy were tired after the party :)

We got Wyatt his first bike for his birthday. He was pretty excited about it but got somewhat frustrated riding because he was really tired from his big day before. It took him about 3 times out on his bike to master it. It is so awesome to see him figure things out and learn. Wyatt also moved up to the next level of class at school and seems to be doing great. He loves his new class and I think it is challenging him.

Tough Mudder

On April 15th Max participated in the Tough Mudder in Ohio. It is a 12 mile race with 25 obstacles that you complete as a team, the goal of the race is to finish and help all your teammates through the obstacles. He trained hard for this race and was in great shape to run it. Good Job baby.
