Hip hip hooray, it's time for our holiday to the US of A !
This trip has been in the pipe line for many years and we nearly didn't make it. But here we are getting on a big jet plane and heading to the other side of the world !! Passports..... check, kids activities packed ..... check, country western clothes packed ..... check, well away we go !!!
We decided on getting a limo to the airport as a surprise for the kids to go with our very early start.
I have traveled a fair bit, but this is the first time that Sandy and E will fly long haul. Not sure how they will go but there is a bit of excitement. E is packed to the brim with stuff to do !!

The kids traveled so well considering they were made to stay seated for 14 hours and the trip was early in the morning so their body clocks were not sleepy !!
Landing in L.A early in the morning also put us in a bit of a spin. First thing to do was pick up our hire car. Sandy was a little nervous about this as he will be driving on the wrong side of the road !! After a rocky and slow start we headed straight to HOLLYWOOD !!!
We parked in a parking station that was right next door to and looked over the playing fields were Grease and Forest Gump were filmed !
First item on the agenda was food after a quick look at the walk of fame and the Grauman's Chinese Theatre where all the celebrities have their hand prints. Along the way we were "conned" into a stars home and Beverly Hills tour. I say "conned" loosely as there are so many street sellers trying to vie for your business.

With the afternoon coming to a close it was time to head to Anaheim and our home for the next 5 days while we enjoy some Disneyland time !!

Day 1 is over !!! Items ticked off the list already and making sure we have a good night sleep before we hit California Adventure !!! A massive thanks for the girls for being so good even though we were all VERY tired and VERY hot. Lets see what other adventures come our way.
