Garden Update

Yes I know I have been very slack with this particular post. I did say that I would keep you all updated about the garden but unfortunately time passes to quickly and life gets in the way !!

Anyway, the beans have grown, been picked and eaten !!! They were very yummy. The lettuce was not such a great grower and never really took off. The corn and tomatoes are going gangbusters and we are currently picking the corn. And our newest addition is carrots which are looking fantastic !! The tomatoes are now starting to ripen and not long before they are ready for picking.

The carrots are also growing nicely !!

 Growing the vegies has given C the opportunity to try beans again and low and behold she like them again, yippee !!! Corn will be the next chance for E !!! Lets see how that goes !!!

Preschool Graduation

This  year E has been attending Mt Warrigal Preschool in preparation for Primary School next year. I have to say it was the best decision that I have made. The school has given E so much confidence and has really prepared her for the year ahead.

Friday last week was the school Christmas concert and Preschool Graduation. It was a fantastic day but sad at the same time as the kids have really bonded with each other through the year.

Of course I took heaps of pictures and even videoed the concert. So here goes with the pics !!!

 Now time for a BBQ and CAKE !! The kids each got the piece of cake with their name on it !!

Well it has been a fantastic year with great friends made for both E and me !! Now the countdown is on for "Big" school with Rhianna and Holly. Hopefully we can catch up with all our friends during the holidays and hopefully all our friendships will last a life time.

A huge thank you to Ms Byrnes and Mrs Fohrman for your love, patience and guidance during the year to bring out the very best in all of our kids !!

Happy 9th Birthday Precious !!

Happy Birthday to my wonderful, beautiful 9 year old !! The last year of single figures !!!

Usually we wait to give the kids their presents until Sandy is home in the afternoon but there was one that I thought would be ok to give her before school.

Good Morning 9 year old !!

First present - Tickets to see Mary Poppins at the Capitol Theatre !!

C was so excited to get these tickets. She has been harping for weeks to see this production !! Next stop was school and more presents !!

After school time for the family presents !! C was very surprised when she discovered presents from Grandma who is in America. Grandma had told her that she would get something when she came back.

So for dinner C wanted to head to McDonalds where we met up with Nan, Aunty Terri and Samantha. More presents !!!

Back to Nan's after dinner for the yearly height check. Each year both girls are measured on Nan's garage wall. This year we came in at
137.5 cm, 4.5 cm taller than last year.

Now time for cake !!! My favourite part. Don't knock it till you try it. It may not look the best but it tasted great !!

Happy Birthday big sister !!

So for her birthday C asked if she could take 2 friends to the bowling alley, so on Saturday that's just what we did. We had to have 2 seperate games 1 for each friend but it worked out better in the end in that she could concentrate on one at a time. First game was with Shania along with E, me and Sandy.

Next cab off the rank was Kate.

After bowling the girls raced each other around the track.

E had some fun too racing the cars !!

To top off C's birthday was our trip to see Mary Poppins the Musical in Sydney. It was a fantastic show and would definately see it again should it return to Sydney. Although next time we may drive to Sydney after our hellish adventure getting there by train. What should have been a 1 hour 20 min journey turned into a 3 hour ordeal. but in the end we were there on time and had a great day.

So much was packed into those few days and I am sure that C enjoyed every bit of it.

Now the countdown is on in 4 weeks for Christmas !! and with Grandma's return from the U.S I am sure there will be some extra presents for us all. My only problem now will be is where to put it all !!

How does your garden grow ?

Over at Jeanette's place (my mother in law) she has decided to grow some vegetables. When John was alive there was always something being grown in the back garden and it was always such fun to watch everything grow !! The garden has always been special to me. Having been brought up in units, there was little chance to see how things grew.

So now my kids will have the chance to be a little hands on and learn where and how vegetables are grown. I don't think it will make them eat any vegies though !!!

Jeanette has planted corn, beans, capsicum, lettuce and tomatoes. This is going to be a huge help when they are ready to be harvested as the price of these items is huge !!!

 I will be uploading pictures of the progress every few weeks, more for the kids and I than anyone else.

I am going to try and take the pictures at the same spot for the beans and corn to try and show how much they have grown over the weeks. At least until they wont fit in the frame anymore !! Wish us luck !!

On September 23 2011 my mum turned the big 60 !!

We treated her to a lovely dinner at the club with family and friends of which 2 were a surprise to mum. Unfortunately I didn't get any pics from the dinner but did get these before we left.

Happy Birthday !!

For her birthday we bought mum a few things one of which was a Bombshell Photography package which includes photos designed around the retro era of the 50's and 60's including original clothes and props from the era, but no the most exciting thing for her was the Elvis Coffee Table !!! I should have known better !!! Everyone that she spoke to was told that she had the best present ever - Elvis Presley Coffee table :(

Me, I would have been more excited about the photo shoot but it isn't my birthday !!
