A Great Weekend - Part 2

Day 2 of our adventurous weekend.

After a good nights sleep we all woke with no one complaning about sore feet. Yippee !

So again a short walk to the tram station for a ride into the city and with fingers crossed prayed that the monorail was back in working order.

Hooray YES the monorail working again so hopped aboard for a trip to the Aquarium.

We all really love the aquarium but we had never been to Sydney Wildlife World so that was our first destination.

At present both the wildlife world and the aquarium have a lego exhibition going on, where there are lego models placed around both centres. They are fantastic and bring back memories for me when Grace Brothers in the city used to have a lego exhibition every year.

After having our picnic lunch beside the harbour we headed into the Aquarium. We always love the aquarium and love being able to go under the water !

We have all had another great day and really enjoyed seeing both places, they are always a big favourite and now having a yearly pass, I hope that we will be able to come more often.

So it was back on the monorail to Darling Harbour for ice cream then back on the tram back to Uncle J's where we packed our bags and headed home.

We had a fantastic weekend and a really really big huge thanks to Uncle J for letting us take over his place. Maybe we will be able to do it again !!! Thanks again Uncle J !!! We love you. 



A Great Weekend - Part 1

     Last weekend the whole family decided to head to Sydney for a weekend of sight seeing. It is always a good idea to be a tourist in the city once in a while. The city is always changing and there are always new things to see and do.

So Friday night we loaded up the car and headed to Uncle J's house. He was very gracious and allowed us to take over his place while he went on a little trip of his own.

So up early Saturday morning to prepare for a day at the Powerhouse Museum and hopefully a trip to the top of Centre Point Tower. After packing our picnic lunch we headed on foot to the tram station for a ride to the city. The other great thing about staying at Uncle J's was that we can walk everywhere and leave the car at home !

Here comes the tram. The kids loved the transport.

Once we hit the city it was off to the monorail to have a ride around and get our discount vouchers for the Powerhouse Museum.

The Powerhouse was great for everyone, there are heaps of things to see and do.

This is a fantastic interactive touch picnic table. We all loved playing with this one.

Being "Goanna's"

At the museum they are currently running a special exhibition called "Back to the Eighties" this was the main reason for our visit to the museum.

Boy George !! What a huge act they were in the 80's.
I was really excited when I came across this as I have the very same doll !!
Although he is not in quite as good condition.

Also hugely excited about this one as I also had a Barbie and the Rockers Doll !!!
And being at the age of loving Barbie and loving singing she was a favourite !!

After the museum our intention was to catch the monorail and head over to Centrepoint Tower as we have purchased a yearly pass which will get us into the Aquarium in the city and Manly, also Centrepoint and Sydney Wildlife World.

But the best intentions don't always come about. When we arrived at the monorail station we found that it has broken down !! Such is our luck !! So we headed to Macca's for some ice cream with the hope that it would be fixed soon.

After ice cream, still no luck with the monorail so we decided to walk to Centrepoint. This is no easy feat when you have a 4 year old !!! But E was a trooper and with some tears and tantrums along the way we arrived !!

The top of Centrepoint was well worth it which always provides great views over the city and beyond.

Our next challenge was to get E back to Darling Harbour as the Monorail was STILL out of action. But a trooper again we arrived and decided to have dinner in Darling Habrour to save our sore feet from a walk up the hill when we arrived back at Unlce J's.

So with our feet rested and our bellies full it was back on the tram and a short walk home back to Uncle J's. Lets see how we all pull up tomorrow when we are headed back to the city to the Aquarium and Wildlife World.

Breakfast on the Beach

Last Sunday Mum, Cherish and I headed to North Wollongong Beach for the annual Breakfast on the Beach. Each year the local radio station puts on a huge breakfast with the help of the Rotary Club for a $2.00 donation with all proceeds going to charity. This years charity was the QLD flood victims.

Breakfast is served from 8.00 am to 10.00 am and there is always lots of things to do and see and different companies are always handing out free stuff !!!

This year we ended up with drink bottles, bags, hats, pens, ballons, flavoured milk and even a t-shirt !!
