OPEN HOUSE

Nettleton added a new elementary this year, STEAM.  Ella and her buddies will be going there instead NIC for 6th grade.  At Open House they got schedules for the first time and were excited to see who they shared classes with.  They get to take new electives this year so Ella is taking dance, theatre, and EAST, as well as 4 PreAP classes.  Abby came over to make pretty schedules and folders for the new year. Ella has decided not to play volleyball or basketball this year, but rather do the Disney class at the FOA for musical theatre and dance.

Ella's locker, decorated just how she wanted. It looked a lot cuter than the pictures reflect.  She and the Beck girls became great buds this year!

All girls went, I took breakfast to Ella's school and went with her.  They had a fabulous turnout.

Emma was invited into the National Honor Society!  #PROUDMOM

They worked with the Salvation Army and made meals to feed the homeless.

 The neatest project Ella did was in EAST where she and her friends got to design a new playground for their school.  They met with the superintendent, where they got permission and an open budget. Then they met with playground companies and got to work picking out exactly what they wanted. The playground will be completed next year!

No folders, just many many papers and lots and lot of trash.

Halloween is for unicorns.  Actually, anyday Ella gets to dress up as a unicorn is a holiday!  If others will do it with her, it's the best day ever!

Emma's friends had a Friendsgiving.  The food was delicious. Pretty impressive for Juniors!

HOMECOMING WEEK

Nanner let Emma drive her car for the Homecoming parade and Sadie was a Freshman Maid.

 Nettleton EAST won the biggest award in the state, the Founder's Award.  Emma was chosen to be the Overall Video Editor for the National Conference.  To get this position she had to apply and submit projects she had done.  It was a big deal. Nettleton won the Founders Award due to the awesome projects they did throughout the year.  Emma was a big part in most of these projects.  One was Touch A Truck. Another was signing books online for the deaf and touring the School of the Deaf.  Another was the Veterans Day Program they put on.

 For EAST Emma did a radio promo for Touch A Truck.  

She was one of the leaders of this event.

 Emma's Sign Language class also toured around town signing songs.

I wish there was a long list of projects EG worked on this year but her objective was to lay low.  Here is a picture of her doing homework (while watching Netflix and on her phone).  The other picture was staged to make her look busy for a Facebook post.

 Ella was inducted into Beta Club!

Ella's Drama class put on an end of the year play, Bedtime Stories.

  She got the lead :) and did a very good job.

 PROM FASHION SHOW

for March of Dimes Council

One of the councils Emma enjoyed this year was March of Dimes.  She did such a good job with the Prom Fashion Show she was elected to be co-chair of it next year.  She was given 2 different bridal businesses to choreograph.  She modeled 2 different dresses and looked beautiful.

  These were the 2 groups she choreographed and the 2 dresses she wore.

Ellas class did their traditional end of school breakfast at Front Page.  It happened to be on the day their class boy band, XSPEARment, was performing at the end of school dance so all the girls had matching shirts with the band! (I was lucky enough to make all the shirts for both the girls and boys).

Emma and Eva Grace ran for Student Council for next year.  Both got voted in.  Emma is the Community Service Chair and EG is a 10th grade Representative.  (Emma gladly ran, EG took some persuading).  Obviously, I didn't help with their signs at all!!! :).

High School Awards!  You can only come to this program if you are receiving an award and both EG and Emma were!!  Emma got the EAST award and FOA Sweethearts recognition and EG got the Civics Award.

  The Barrett that did the best though was Ella Ruth!  She had all A's all year and won the drama award for the year.
