Emma's Sock Hop

Emma had a Sock Hop at school on Friday. She was decked out in a poodle skirt, denim jacket, 50's sunglasses, Converse (blinged, of course), & ponytail tied with a scarf. The kids danced, hula hooped, & drank Coke Floats. The boy Emma is dancing with above is a little ham. I think he danced with every girl at the dance! He was showing all the girls where to put their arms and whizzing them around the room. It was hilarious. Thank you, Mrs. Elizabeth, for sharing your pictures! My camera is dying.

My Drama Queens Performance

Emma will KILL me for this because she didn't know I was recording their "performance" but it is too funny not to share. YOu all know what drama queens I have anyway, so I'm sure you'd expect this from them! They are watching themselves in the mirror as they are putting this on.

The Fort

Uncle Adam came over to see the girls and they decided to build a fort. He even used one of their mattresses for added stability! They had a blast.

Beater Eater

Growing up it was a big deal in our house to lick the beaters when Mom was finished using them, especially with mashed potatoes or cake batters. I think this was a big deal because there was 4 of us kids and only 2 beaters so it gave us something to argue over. Anyway, I loved this picture of Ella and Adam at Sunday lunch. It brought back memories!

Emma's writing assignment

This was Emma's writing assignment on life for her when she was 100 years old.

To clear up her reputation, she said she didn't know how to spell husband so she just wrote boyfriend! haha.

Emma's letter to Aunt Paul

The other day, I saw Emma place this note on the window sill in the playroom and quietly ask Jesus when he was going to come pick it up.
It says, "I love you Paul and have a good time in heaven. Jesus please show this to Paul. Love, Emma..."

Mom, does this look familiar?

For all our blog readers that know my mother, does this look familiar? My mother was the one who introduced all of my children to coffee at very young ages. (I feel bad even saying how young!) This is exactly how she sits with her cup!
Now for the answers to your questions! Yes, this is Ella. Yes, she is only a little over 1 1/2 years old. Yes, this is coffee. Yes, that is a breakable cup without a spill proof lid. Yes, Emma fixed the coffee, poured Ella her own cup (with creamer), put the bib on her and put her in her high chair. Yes, it is decaf (I think). Yes, this is a pretty regular occurrence at our house with all my children. They love it as much as I do. Any more?

Valentine's 2009

I love holidays and this Valentine's Day was no exception. I made Eva Grace and Ella shirts and Emma some matching overalls - that were even cherry scented! The girls got lots of candy, some game books and a balloon that Nanner and Poppy sent them.

I asked the girls if they wanted to make their Valentines this year or go pick some out. They choose to make love bugs. Emma did most all of hers. Eva Grace had good intentions but mostly just put the finishing jewel touches on her bugs.

Emma's class put on an adorable skit for her Valentine's party. They also had an ice cream sundae buffet! Yum.

Lunch dates

Ella and Ruby Kate got tired of our conversations so they decided to make some phone calls. Ruby Kate defiantly observes her mommy on the phone. She was hilarious!

Emma's 100th Day of School!

Tuesday, Emma celebrated her 100th day of school. She was supposed to dress like a 100 year old would dress. Determined to be a stylish old lady she wore her leopard print pj's with matching robe, hair in a bun, and matching leopard print glasses.
She must have really been in the 100 day spirits because check out her test grades and other grades she brought home - all 100's or A+. WOO HOO! She is so smart and I am so proud.
