Slime, slime and more slime

Ella and Sadie love slime.  Ella makes it daily.  A gallon of glue is the way to her heart.  Many schools and parents have banned it!  ha.

Spring Break 2019- Oh, the places we went!

This trip started as a road trip to Natchez, MS but ended up a road trip to Orlando for Disney World and Universal Studios, a trip to the beach, AND Natchez to tour plantation houses with Les, 

First stop: Orlando! Hard Rock Hotel in Universal Studios

 Ella doing the happy dance when we got upgraded to CLUB LEVEL for FREE!  In the rooms the mirrors have heights of celebrities.  Emma was the same height as beyonce.  We hung out at the citywalk, pool and room the rest of this evening. 

 Next day (St. Patrick's Day) we went to Disney World for the family to see the new Pandora World in Animal Kingdom.  We waited 2 1/2 hours in line to ride Flights of Passage, then headed to Magic Kingdom for the rest of the day.  Russell, from UP, loved our themed shirts!

2 1/2 hour wait to ride Flights of Passage had Ella sleeping in the trees.  Everyone thought the ride was worth the wait!

Next up, Magic Kingdom.

 Burt surprised me with a St. Patrick's Day treat,then tried to steal a bite.  Apparently, I don't like people stealing my food, especially my sweets!

Day 3:  Universal Studios 

 While the bigs rode all the roller coasters, Ella cast spells around Harry Potter World.

Day 4:  Leaving Hard Rock and Universal, lunch at Chocolate Emporium before we headed to the beach!

On to the beach!

Day 5:  Gulf Shores.  Beach all day, dinner with the Willis family that night.

 Eva Grace got an exciting phone call and found out she was in a new advanced class at the FOA (MPT 4).  She couldn't contain her excitement. This is one of my favorite pictures :).

 Met the Willis's at The Hangout for dinner.  There was loud music, dancing on tables, trivia, and foam!  We had a blast.

Day 6:  So long Gulf Shores!  On to Natchez.

Pit stop, Lamberts!  Yum.

Day 7:  Natchez, Mississippi.  Nanner and Poppy met up with us here.  We spent the day with Les and Mary touring plantation houses.  Ella loved all the house pets, the rest of us loved the dresses, Burt loved the history!  Ended the day with some alligator and seafood.

 

Ended the night one of Les and Mary's favorite seafood places.  EG tried fried alligator for the first time and we all tried alligator cheesecake. 

Day 8:  So long Natchez, hello Vicksburg.  Burt has been wanting to go to Vicksburg as long as I've known him and we were thankful to check this off his list.  He turned into Wickoburtia on us, as we predicted he would.  We all held on to his wise bits of knowledge as long as we could.....then we found ways to hide and entertain ourselves while he explored.

Not pictured is Ella stepping on a mound of angry ants and doing a vigorous dance to get them off her legs.  They liked her legs and didn't want to get off which led Ella to dance more vigorously!  The dance ended with me beating her with her flip flop to try and kill the ants.  Many tears were shed- by terrified Ella and by family members who laughed uncontrollably as they observed the event unfold. The now furious Ella decided it was time to GO!

  

So long Vicksburg!  

We stumbled upon the Onward Store in Rolling Fork, Mississippi, and had lunch.  This happened to be the place where Teddy Roosevelt once hunted for a bear.  Killing it would have given him some kind of record.  The bear was tied to a tree so he wouldn't shoot it because it wasn't a "true hunt."  The media went wild with this story and stuffed bears became known as teddy bears.  We all found this history interesting.

Next stop on our venture home Poppy wanted to eat at Morgan Freeman's restaurant in Clarksdale, Mississippi.  We pulled up and it was almost night time.  The location of the restaurant is not the best, actually it was downright scary!  We were still full from lunch so snapped a picture of Burt and Poppy, then left (quickly)!

That was one full Spring Break!
