Eva Grace's Locks of Love, Round 2

Eva Grace decided she wanted to do Locks of Love again. (All 3 girls did it almost 2 years ago).  Here is her hair before leaving for school this morning....

She is SO excited!  Ponytail was a little over 10" but closer to 11" was cut off.

Ella's 100th Day of Kindergarten

It has been 100 days of school already!  Ella's kindergarten class had to make a shirt with 100 items on it.  We made a snow globe and glued 100 buttons on there for snow.  We went to Hancock's and she picked out the fabrics (felts).  I ended up having to sew those pieces to the shirt because the hot glue didn't hold the felt to the shirt at all (lesson learned).  The glue worked fine for the buttons to the felt.

Busy, busy, busy.. Will forsure miss this one day soon

Ella loves to be in my craft room with me as I work.  She usually is "working" too, and always giving me feedback on my creations.  If she likes it she wants a replica and if she doesn't like it, she doesn't hesitate to let me know.  One of her favorite places to be (at the moment) is sitting, or propped up somehow on one of the shirt boxes underneath my counters.  Here she is pretending to be a teacher and writing down all the sight words "her class" is working on.  She is using my order book to write them in (and they will stay there until my order book is empty). 

She also loves playing with a box of baby dolls I got from my Mama Ruth when she passed away.  This was the box she had for me to play with when I was a little girl.  She kept it in her craft room.  I vividly remember each item in the box, most of them being doll outfits made by my Great Aunt, Ninny.

I also inherited my Mama Ruth's sewing table.  It has several drawers that are still filled with the sewing accessories my Mama Ruth had in them.  Ella has very cautiously organized those drawers over and over.  My Mama Ruth would be tickled and Ella makes me think of her frequently.  I'm so glad I named her Ruth.

Crafty and Thoughtful Emma

 Check out some birthday presents Emma made for some friends.  Owl hand warmers filled with rice and ponytail holders made to look like a big bow on a present.  She is so creative.

Happy New Year's Eve / Birthday Andrew / New Year

 For Andrew's birthday, he had us all over to Adam's for surf and turf.  We were able to do this on his actual birthday  NYE, so we made a night out of it.  The food was delicious and several showed up to celebrate including the Greenwood's, Harrell's, mom, dad, Adam, Andrea and the Barrett 5 with Elaina and Ella Kate.

 After dinner, the kids found some board games to play.  Emma and Ella Kate learned how to play Battleship.  EG, Elaina and Ella played Twister, and then they all learned how to play Clue.

   While the kids played Battleship, Twister and Clue, the adults that were left played some Scattergories.   

   Ever heard of a ceramic lizard?  "Because you can't take a real one with you."  Or a Lemur farm?  Just ask Sarah.

 Whoa!  Mixed votes.  The rule was probably biased BUT just to make sure, let's Google it.  I THINK the rule was made in favor of the contestant...

 Wrap up of adult game night... Andrea's answers were mostly right on for everything.  Sarah (7 months pregnant) was hungry ALL night and had a thing for things that started with L, Andrew was serious and Mr. Google, Burt blew smoke, Adam was contrary, and .... I don't know who won.

Almost midnight,  time for the ball drop... or mud pie??  The mud pie was what we watched drop this year.  It was also the first year without Dick Clark leading the countdown. He passed away in the spring.

 10...9...8...7...6...5...4...3...2...1...HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

 Silly String was a fun way to send out the old year but not such a fun way to bring in the new year!  It looked like snow and the kids had a blast, BUT, it got all over the cars and Adam had it stuck all over his carport.  That didn't fly well with his OCD issues.

New Year's Day we went to Grandma's house for lunch with the family and some more board game fun.

I was proud to say that Mrs. Scarlet was killed with a knife in the library.
