food dreams

I had the bizarrest dream last night. It was from my viewpoint, I wasn't seeing myself in the dream. Those kinds always seem the most real whether they make rational sense or not. Anyway, the scenario was such that it was my wedding. But the part where I came into it was when I was taking pictures after the ceremony (it was a temple wedding), up in Salt Lake. The guy I was married to looked facially a lot like a young Jon Favreau (Rudy's buddy, D-Bob, from the movie Rudy). It was weird because then I found out my inlaws were an older guy at work and his wife. It made me laugh when I woke up, but that's the last time I eat 2-day-old tortelli after 7:30 at night. ;)

dearest friends

These are friends that stand by you even when you've been a proverbial jerk to them. Unconditional love is a must. I dedicate this post to such friends. I love you guys and I always will. How is it that I was so fortunate to have such friends as these? I can only give credit to a God in heaven who loves me. That's the main reason I canthink of at this time. I know for a fact that they will be my friends forever because I intend to keep them. :) Gratitude fills my heart for these two special people in my life. DeAnna and Kristen- this is for you. <3>

a shift in momentum

Yesterday I called a dear friend of mine on the phone. We discussed the recent turn of events: our friend and his wife discovered they are pregnant. Mauni called me to confirm whether this rumour (u.k. spelling...I love it!) was true or not. We chatted about life for awhile and enjoyed hearing eachothers' voices.

Anyway, for some reason this, walk-down-memory-lane seemed to bring a feeling to me that was very much akin to a shift in the momentum of my life. Some days you wake up and just feel 'different' for no reason and you don't quite understand why until something happens that causes you to go 'A-hah! That's why!' Then comes an understanding which fills our souls. Speaking of souls,as I was pondering about how understanding fills our souls, a mental picture came to mind. You know that picture where the background is dark but you see a small rippled pool of water (like in a well, pond or a lake) with the suspended drops of water above it. In my minds' eye, I could see the water ripple gently and hear the ultimate silence of that solitary moment. One moment of change.

Change is always present and for that reason alone we should welcome it; no matter how difficult it may seem. For instance, finding myself joining the movement of people that are getting their own blogspaces. Peer pressure? Maybe. A chance to turn over a 'new leaf' (hence the blog name)? Quite possibly. Either way, this expression of thought is mine to share. The philosophical questions, the eccentric musings, the bitter tirades, the simple beauties of everyday life, the hope for goodness to abound in the world. Optimistic? Absolutely.
