Bring on the solid foods!

It started out with rice cereal...then we moved to squash...now we're on peas! He does look at me with a lot of curiosity when I eat, so Landon has also tried chocolate pudding, chocolate ice cream, vanilla ice cream and applesauce :) nice diet, huh?

Landon is 6 months!! AHHH!!!

I cannot believe our little love bug is already 6 months old. It's so hard to imagine what life was like before we had him in our lives, and so hard to believe that he's been here for 6 months already. Tim and I feel more blessed each day!

At Landon's 6 month visit he was 27 inches (75th %) and just under 17 pounds (50th %). Which means he's tall and skinny just like his dad. He's sitting like a champ and still hates tummy time (unless a book or his Scout is in front of him). He has his two bottom teeth in, and produces more drool than most St. Bernard puppies. Even though I'm back to work, I am still breastfeeding (go me!). We started on solid foods as soon as he hit the 6 month mark (see previous post) and I swear, if he could talk, he would have told me not to bother with the pureed stuff and to pass the steak knife (not sure if that was more because he wanted to chew on the spoon?).

Anyway, it's been a great 6 months. He is the happiest, sweetest little guy and I just love the way he kisses with his mouth open, full of drool. His smile and giggle can make the worst day seem like a cake walk.

Landon's 1st trip to Wisconsin

The weekend before Halloween my cousin Brad got married. So off to Wisconsin we went...minus Tim (work travel in London) and Erin (work travel in Vegas). It was Landon's first trip to Wisconsin, and therefore, the first time meeting the Smith side of the family. It was a great trip, a bit difficult to do without Tim, but wonderful to see everyone, especially my Grandma :)

5 Months

This has been a fun month in the Sharkey household. Landon learned to sit up about 2 weeks ago, although he still needs help, he is loving his new skill. When he's laying in his yellow bed or car seat he is constantly trying to sit up, and even gets a bit grumpy when he's on his back too long.

We also started rice cereal last week, but then stopped since the Pediatrician recommended we wait a few more weeks until he's 6 months.

Tim is off in London for the next week so I've been on single parent duties for the past week. It's definitely a challenge, especially with working, but thank God for Grandparents! Kim & Larry cooked us dinner tonight and my mom and dad watched Landon this afternoon while I went to play tennis.

Landon spent the afternoon with Grandmom and Grandad while I played tennis last Sunday. I thought this picture that Larry (aka Opa/Grandad) sent me was TOO CUTE not to share :)




Every Monday my mom watches Landon. Its the greatest day of the week, because she arrives promptly at 8AM and has dinner ready when I get home around 6:30 (only on weeks when Tim is traveling...oh, which is the entire month of October:()
Typically they start out at my house, then move over to my mom's house less than 5 miles away so that Landon can spend time with my dad (aka, let my mom use all of her Grandma tools/baby toys)

Landon's Baptism

Saturday September 17th was Landon's Baptism. We were surrounded by close family and friends to help celebrate the wonderful day. We then had a UGA tailgate party at our house to celebrate. Thank you to all our friends and family that came to help celebrate our baby boy. It was a wonderful day and wouldn't have been complete without all of you!
