Sciolist

Copacetic-----> Going excellent, just right. That's how life has been after mocks. Perrrrfect. Too perfect. Just perfect enough for Murphy's Law to strike, and now I've sprained my left foot. Again.

I can't believe it's been one and a half weeks already. Time flies when exams are over. For the moment. I've promised myself that'll keep the brain running thorughout the holidays so that I won't have to start all over again. I suppose I have been doing that. Unfortunately this is the weekend before the holidays ACTUALLY start, so I'm still enjoying myself... Sudoku has kept me busy, 6 star puzzles are about 8 minutes average for me hehe... Animax has kept me busy too. Love Law of Ueki. I don't know why. It's just one of those cartoons where you can turn trash into trees, makes you finally think of something imaginative to do haha... Been downloading lots of new songs too, singing myself away...

I just realised that I'm a stay-at-home person. I've nowhere to go when I go out with people. 1-Utama's for shopping and eating only, and everywhere around my place is also for eating only. I guess it's also because my parents never really let me out anywhere with my friends when I was younger, so I didn't have many places to go to, and this afternoon I went out with a friend, and we had nowhere to go... Other than pool at 1U la. Gosh I'm starting to sound like a boring person already. What do normal people do anyway? Haha.

My cousin came down from Australia today. He's one cool guy. Studying Grade 9(Form 3) in Australia and he's only 13. He came to Malaysia a few times before, and I've gotta admit, having a younger who's more knowledgeable than you by a dictionary isn't an easy fact to swallow. At least that sorta inspired me to study la. The thing about him is that, you know when people know that they're a level above the rest, they tend to be a bit... A WEE bit cocky la. And faux pas. I find that to be a disturbing trend among intelligent people. But he's still a nice guy, very dynamic person too(runs in the whole family, none of my mom's side cousins are shy) and willing to share his knowledge la, and I respect that, coz I know other people who wouldn't spend time to share what they know because they "think" that you wouldn't understand it. So, good la I have a good cousin.

Random pic!!!! Long, long time ago, I read in magazines and encyclopedias that there are plants that can kill animals, such as pitcher plants and Venus-flytraps. Of course, a long long time ago, we bought one. I've never seen it eat a fly before though. So I was a bit bummed la.

Apparently it's supposed to attract flies with its nectar and close it's leaves.

Right I shall end it with a tag. Bored la.

The requirements:

1. Put your music player on shuffle
2. Press forward for each question

Feel Like Making Love - George Benson

To whom?

23. Where will you live?
After All This Time - Simon Webbe

No idea what this means.

24. What will your dying words be?
Better Together - Jack Johnson

There's no combination of words I can put on the back of a postcard,
A song that I could sing but I could try for your heart

Means I'm gonna die single!!!!

25. When I'm having sex I say:
If I were you - Hoobastank

Ha. Ha. Ha. This tag's driving me nuts.

26. When I meet a guy/lady for the first time I say:
Last Thing On My Mind - Ronan Keating / Leeann Rimes

"Four o'clock in the morning, my mind is filled with a thousand thoughts of you"
Nuff' said.

27. When my parents are angry I say:
Geek In The Pink - Jason Mraz

"I don't care what you may think about me, you'll get by without me if you want"

So not me.

See you guys next post. Within this week, I promise.

Codswallop

Paregoric----> Medicine, to soothe. MSN Doesn't seem to be working now. I kinda got the idea of what life after mocks would be like today. I went to college with no class at all, spent half the day in my friend's room in the condo studying, and after lunch abt 1 plus we were in the com lab. Nice huh. Hoopefully I would be more productive tomorrow or after mocks. I've gotta say first, first one to wish me on my birthday gets a free drink from anywhere, you name it.
Hello all. You know I noticed a few things last week, apart from the fact that my birthday's aroudn the corner. For instance, recently I watched this cooking show called Oliver's Twist, and Jamie Oliver's so.... Shall we say... Different. And amazing at the same time. Who knew that red wine, chocolate and butter could go with RICE. Risotto that is, can't wait to try French cuisines. There's also this part after the show, where all the chef's guests finally come over as the credits roll, and everyone's enjoying their food, while all of us viewers just stone there and watch them enviously after our dinner(great timing, isn't it?) Last week he was cooking eggplants with Ricotta cheeese and chocolate sauce, I'm disgusted and curiosified at the same time...

Oh yes, I just came back from the Curve. We tried something new today, Ton Chan. It's somewhere at the upper floor at the street. Around the Only Noodle shop. Generally, other than the Mapo Taufu and the Crab meat Omelette, everything else sucks. It doesn't look half as good as the pictures in the menu inside OR outside the restaurant, but I liked the Miso soup at the end, it's always the best finisher whether your food sucks or not.

There's a slight trend I've noticed lately. Guys that are appealing nowadays seem to have long hair. More compared to last time anyway. Everyone used to love GI Joe or James Bond, which have flat, combed hair like married men like that, but nowadays when I talk to most of my female friends, everyone loves Bucky from American Idol 5. And believe me, it's not just because of his voice.

You know I've gotta agree with Simon there, they do look like Jessica Simpson. 'Nuff said.

Something happened last week that made me think of the question "Is it harder to be a good winner or a good loser?" It's not just about sportsmanship you know, coz there's a lot of ego bruising involved. Personally, I'm so used to losing that I'm not afraid of it anymore. Thanks to my high school teacher Mr Mah. Anyway, I was playing basketball at the club(after a very very long break from it) And some people can be real asses sometimes. I'm not talking about cheating on the field or being rude or not playing fair. These are the people that no matter how good they are, you just don't ever want to play against them OR with them again. This guy at the court, A, he fits the description. I was plaiyng against him for the first time, and he was playing quite good actually, until our team started winning, then he really started acting like an ass. After the game he didn't even bother talking to any of us, like he's some big shot that his ego's been bruised badly and we've shamed him for life or something. Haha. Serves him right. Personally, I think it's harder to lose in style than to win without being an asshole coz when you lose, you tend to pressurise yourself more, although a lot of people don't see that. They think that winning brings more of the jerk in people, that's why a lot of winners are not-very-nice people. If you can lose and still enjoy yourself and respect other people, I will definitely salute you, you deserve it.

For the record, I've always liked Making the Band. I just hate P.Diddy, that's all. It's funny to watch all the girls bitch about each other.

Paregoric

Palimpsest--------> A parchment that has been re-written. This post promises to be a long one. Mocks start on Thursday. I'm being really cool about it. Too cool in fact. It's like the quiet moment right before a huge gunfight where the guy says "Do you hear that? It's quiet. Too quiet" then everything goes havoc. I'm kinda there now.

It's not even my birthday yet, and I'm already receiving presents and birthday wishes haha. I thank my dad a lot for giving me a new Canon Powershot A700. 6X Zoom, 20 shooting modes, It's like being able to take a picture of the kitchen from my front door. Amazing. My good fortune doesn't stop there. With my new camera, there was this Osim i-Gallop gallery going on in 1u, and check this out...
Me and an Osim i-gallop showgirl. Talk about having a nice first picture.

Anyway after that, went home and once again, rain season is striking us again with heavy winds and falling trees. Just check this out, took it with the new camera...

When Trees Attack. In front of my street some more. I heard that on that same day, 7 cars got hit by these kind of falling trees in TROPICANA ONLY. Scary.

I just came back from a birthday dinner at San Francisco Steakhouse. It's a special place for me, from the atmosphere to the drinks and the food and the people to the company and the memories. I've been celebrating my birthdays there, and everytime I go there the food gets better and better. I've almost got a fixed course meal each year, only I drink more alcohol each time I go there haha... This time I had wine, Tequilla and Coffee Calypso, I can't believe that I'm still bloggging here...

This is my Choc Mint 18th birthday cake. Really sinful.

I've never really believed in birthday wishes. I've only seen them work in movies, where everytime there's a birthday wish a gust of wind blows and something magical happens. I've never expected that, but since young I suppose I never really had anything to really ask for. Even around this age, it's either I don't have anything at all to ask for or I dunno what I'm asking. Ever wonder who are we wishing from when we close our eyes and make a birthday wish? I used to think it was the birthday cake, but I never really found out or asked and this year, I'm wishing for the impossible...

Well that's all for now, I've gotta study in college tomorrow.

Palimpsest

Tergiversate-----> Make conflicting statements. You know it feels nice when a teacher makes coffee for you. Makes you wanna talk. I've had the luxury of that today, and boy did I talk. In fact, I can't remember the last time I drank coffee haha. There was also a Sudoku challenge organised by Campbell today, I did 2:09 for a puzzle and still didn't win, apparently the winner did 53 seconds, wow...

Ever wodner why female cleaners ONLY are cleaning male toilets and vice versa? Apparently this is happening everywhere, I don't know why no one's feeling uncomfortable about it. Maybe everyone's taking opposite gender workers in toilets for granted. Weird. Speaking og taking things for granted, I finally have found one bad habit of mine---- Taking things for granted(duh) See my mom and I were talking today, and she has pointed out that my taking her for granted as well as Malaysian traffic is a bad attitude. I don't know how relieved I felt when I heard that. It seems that, this year I've been perfect. Too perfect. Like I can't improve anymore. I'm still myself. But it's like there's nothing wrong with me. I don't know why. Maybe I don't have too-straightforward friends. Yeah so criticise me more often. I'd be glad to accept. I've had enough of compliments.

Have you ever been set up to have tea with a person, not knowing who it is at all? No pictures, no introduction, just a name and a phone call. No, it's not called a blind date, it's just meeting someone new that wants to know me. I don't think that came out right. Anyway, the feeling's like meeting any other new person, you feel a wee bit nervous coz youhave no idea whether the person you are about to meet is a bombshell or a bitch. When you sit at the table and start thinking of what the person might be like, it can be quite frightening you know. Which comes to my point of people fearing the unknown. Why is it that when people don't know what they're about to face, they become scared and uncertain? Is it because we might risk hurting ourselves? I know people who fear the thought of taking exams that they don't know what the questions are, or not daring to try new stuff that they don't know what it is? I admit, I do feel that way too to a certain extent, but anything new like meeting new people that don't know me or people I don't know, I would be glad to meet them. As compared to last year, where I didn't dare say "hi" to anyone unless I was forced to, I even felt uncomfortable saying my own name haha...

Well that's it for this post, see you guys next time.

Tergiversate

Mulligrubs-----> State of depression. Totally opposite of what I'm feeling now. In fact I'm on an absolute high now.(F) I just returned from vocal class. Yeah. I had fun. My homework- David Tao- Ai hen jien dan(love is easy) the song is so lovey dovey that I feel like loving someone now... Like buying them flowers on the spot kinda thing. I think I'm gona feel like this for the whole week, since it's my homework and I need to get the song into my head.

For the last week, I've been listening to a lot of stories. People's experiences, crushes and break-ups, feelings and stuff like that la. Point is, when people tell me stories, especially if they don't tell a lot of people these kind of stories, I'd feel so much better after listening to them... It's nice to know that someone would react exactly like me in certain situations, or find out that the most unexpected people can do the most unexpected things... Of course it's nice to tell people stories of my own too. It's nice to see the look on the person's face when you did something totally wrong a long time ago, or when people are actually paying attention to you and caring, I think it's a very good feeling... Sometimes i wonder where I get all the patience to listen that much, coz normally I can't even sit still haha...

I celebrated someone's birthday today. Happy birthday Yvonne Tee. Got a few old friends to come to Sunway College, had cake and singsong and candles and all that. That's not the point. See we we celebrated with the old group of friends that I used to hang out with in Sri KDU, (well most of them anyway) and I realised that they haven't really changed a bit... Different hair, nicer phones, but still the same old us from 2 years ago. After the whole thing I realised that no one in the world can replace these people that I called "my best friends" last year, and I'm quite grateful that although that I played a rather insignificant role in the group, it's nice to know that people actually remembered me and missed eveyrone in the group... Of course there were some people in the group that we've lost almost total contact with, but it was very nostalgic tthis afternoon you know... Like the times where all of us would walk down to the cafeteria during lunch, with the couples sticking with each other, everyone else arguing or bullshitting about something la... Damn funny, sort of missed those old days where I learnt to Sit there and listen to what people were saying... Every lunch conversation I learnt something new. Of course at that time no one really asked for my opinion, and I was only close to a few of them, so I couldn't really do much heart to heart then as I can freely do now and everyone would understand...

So here's a tribute to the old Sri KDU gang, would forever remember you guys, coz I have learnt so much from you guys in being a good friend and part of a nice gang =)

Ignore the stupid me in the center. From left:Donnie, Jia Wei, Shir Li, Yvonne, Sheue Yng, Mushira, Shern, Wei Yang.

So my left's eye been twitching since this morning. My friend say sthat whenever that happens to her, it's good luck coming round the corner. I'm crossing my fingers.

Oh yea about Steve Irwin, I think it's about time he hit the hay, he's cheated death too many times already don't you think?

Mulligrubs

Unobtanium--------> A material that's unobtainable. Just like my new crush. Wait that didn't come out right.

It was someone's birthday. Yes, Malaysia turned 49 on Thursday. I can't believe that I celebrated by studying. Off all things. On Friday I heard about how my friends went up to Genting or went to Sunway Lagoon to watch fireworks with their friends/boyfriends/girlfriends, I feel so unpatriotic. =)

I've just realised how long my weekends are. It's not a spell, just for this week only. Maybe since Merdeka, the holidays and free time have made my time super-lengthened... I was hoping for days like these. Then I could find time and talk to a good friend and even catch up with a few. But I'm sitting here in front of the com, blogging as I'm wondering what have I done wrong this year as a college student towards everyone. So far, I haven't really thought of anything I could correct, except maybe taking English instead of ESL, then I wouldn't have to take Econs(which is pulling my marks down GREATLY) if not, I suppose regretting a bit, just a little bit on letting go of my past... Well most of it anyway. It used to be nice, thinking that being a friend is all about commitment... And only commitment. Kinda figured out that friends are like two way traffic.

You know I've been doing a lot of tags and surveys involving stuff I did long ago compared to now, and I've realised that 5 years ago, I couldn't imagine or even dream about doing stuff like what I'm doing now... Like driving, I used to think that my parents would fetch me everywhere FOREVER... I was even frightened to take my first lessons haha. I also couldn't imagine having real friends like now. I used to think that best friends are people who you normally ALWAYS hang around in school with and just spend time with them, then it turns out that you don't have to spend ALL your time on best buddies...

Alright I'm out of ideas. See you guys next time.

Unobtanium

Vexillology-----> The study of flags. *stretch* Nothing much to write, about, except for a little crush I have now... She's just one of those people you just can't get over, and think about when something good happens... Maybe I'm just lonely. Whatever the reason, I'm near crazy over her(with trials nearby) so I'm gonna use that as incentive to motivate myself to study hehe...

In the mean time, I've found something interesting to do... It's a tag I think on crushes and I'm supposed to highlight the girl's name haha. So anybody wanna use these names against me go right ahead, I'm pinning myself against the wall =)

The year 1995,
I was 7 years old. Standard 1. Still didn't have a real crush yet, but I think my closest thing to a crush was the Pink Ranger from Power Rangers haha. Apparently I've heard that she and Red Ranger are porn stars now. I'm not gonna go find out.

The year 2000,
12 years old. Standard 6. I've been rejejcted so many times by now, but I think at that time my crush was Chia Sok Hui, thankfully she's in Japan studying now. She was a singer then, and everytime I talked to her I was so nervous(I am still like that) I think this crush went all the way up to Form 3 haha when I changed school and finally didn't get to see her around. Everyone of my friends made fun of her though, and I didn't dare do so and even bought a present for her birthday and lied to my friends about it. I didn't know what I was doing to my friends, mind you haha.

The year 2002,
14 years old. Form 2. After transferring schools from SMKBU to SMKBU3, I was a real geek (at least I think i was) and got rejected so many times, especially in Edusmart tuition. Nevertheless, I kept trying but I supposed I was too busy focusing on making new friends at that time. One of the worst crushes was Debbie Tan. That girl was SO cute that I sent her song lyrics in my SMSes as pick-up-lines. Thinking about it now, I'm not surprised that I was rejected that much haha.

The year 2003,
15 years of age. Form 3. Finally I get lucky. I picked up the flirting game, and managed to land a girl called Stephanie Yong from Edusmart(shows that persistence pays off, eh?) However, only being able to see her once a week, I don't think we lasted a week haha. Later in the year, I got together with Jannifer Lim(also from Edusmart haha) and I don't think we lasted for a week either. In conclusion, at Form 3 I had no idea what a relationship was supposed to be haha. I'm still talking to Stephanie though, she's even prettier than before =)

The year 2004,
Age 16, Form 4. Reality slaps me in the face. I start waking up and reading books on how women work. I still love the book Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus that book has thoroughly changed me. Fell for a quiet, annoying girl called Tan Sue-Yi and (don't hate me for this) although I knew she was in a crashing relationship, I took advantage and we eventually became really, really an intimate couple. Not to mention being not-shy in public. That one ended in flames, after she couldn't decide between me and her boyfriend. Turned out we were both good people. Changed my perception greatly that the good guy always wins. Heh.She's one of my closest friends now though, since she knows all my secrets, flaws and soft spots haha.

The year 2005,
Age 17. Form 5. Still grieving over the past year, I didn't make any real moves on anyone until I started teaching as a study method for SPM.Apparently good grades weren't the only benefits. One of my 'students', Elaine Lee, was under my "spell" and eventually we got intimate and our studying sessions seemed like dates. Right before SPM Trials we agreed to get together, and after that, she fell for another guy. Showed me that no matter how hard you work for something, there is bound to be something wrong that might and WOULD happen.

The year 2006,
Hurt twice and overly-cautious, I didn't DARE make any moves on anybody in college. I even gave many people first impressions that I was a nerd haha. Just like Form 4. Of course there were crushes. For all the wrong people. Namely other people's girlfriends. Currently, I'm using every chance I get to get close to her to at LEAST get a conversation in, including sacrificing my time slots that I'm supposed to be using for studies. I'm not worried, I still make up for it at night, so I'm not feeling guilty for what I'm doing at the moment.

Well that's all for the moment, will update tonight. Real stuff coming up.
