She is here!!

I know this is super late, but with a newborn I am lucky I get a shower in and any sleep!
Tatum arrived November 1, 2010 at 7:47am. She weighed 7lbs. 6 oz. and was 20 1/2 inches. Everything went great. It was a lot of emotions leading up to having her. I was so excied yet nervous, then anxious, then nervous... that night before and morning of was a crazy experience. Needless to say I didn't get much sleep and before bed Logan and I were filling out our ballots because we forgot to do it before then. I was so tired that I was falling asleep while filling in the bubbles... but of course woke up super early because I couldn't get back to sleep once I woke up to go to the bathroom. So I got up showered and dinked around until it was time to be at the hospital. We got there shortly after 6:00am. They took us back to a room and started getting me ready. Logan got to sport some scrubs, hat and mask which made him feel like a doctor and we were off. It was different this time because I walked to the OR... kinda felt like I was walking to my doom. I don't know why it just did. So up I go on the table and the prep work continues. In goes the spinal, which was amazing, then the blue tarp, then they scrub my belly, test my belly to make sure I am numb, and then the surgery began. A short time later I heard her cry for the first time and I was over joyed! It was such a sureal pregnancy and morning, but then to hear her cry was even more surreal. We had finally had another baby. What a miracle!

I am so grateful for this little bundle of joy. She really is such a sweet baby. She is starting to smile at us and it just makes my day. Reid can't keep his hands off her. He has to be touching, kissing or hugging her whenever she is awake... or alseep. He loves her so much. I know I am not a fan of the newborn/baby stage, mainly because I get little sleep, but I
have come to enjoy the sweet moments with her because before I know it they will be gone.

Halloween

This year at Halloween I had some mixed emotions. It was the last year that it was just the three of us... the next day we were to go in and have our little Tatum. Reid wanted to be a "real" cowboy this year (because I guess the other time he was a cowboy he didn't look like a "real" one). So I made some chaps and a vest from a pattern that my mom had. It was super easy and Reid loved it.

He had his harvest party at school and was able to wear his costume and sing some songs with is class mates. He did awesome as usual.

Then on Saturday our ward had a Halloween party out on some ones farm full of games, a pumpkin patch, hay ride and a trunk or treat. Logan was on the activites committee so he got to help out with it again this year and his friend who was also on the committee thought it would be fun to "dress" up. By dress up he meant a wig. It was funny though and we got some good laughs at the guys in their get up.

We weren't going to go trick or treating this year because it was on Sunday but we gave in and let Reid hit a few of our neighbors houses to get candy. Our neighbor friend was a cow girl so we had to get a picture of the two of them in their costumes. Too cute. Then the Yarbrough's came over to help us hand out candy so we had to get a picture of Liv and Reid. Cutie pies!!

Once all of the festivites were over for Halloween we took Reid out to Grandpa and Grandma Hatch's for him to stay the night and the next couple of days... we were off to have a baby!!

There Was No Way This Could Have Turned Out!

Reid really wanted to do a Halloween ginger bread house when he saw this at the store. So I thought it would be a great FHE activity. Too bad it turned out horribly! The icing was either too thin or too hot so it kept dripping and none of the candy would stick to it... oh well. It was still fun and we got to eat candy along the way so it wasn't all bad! :)

Soccer

Soccer was so fun this year. Reid really got the hang of it. It took him a couple of weeks to realize he can play both offense and defense but once he did he took off. He really likes playing the goalie and blocking goals from coming into the net. So at first he would run down to the other end of the field and wait for the opposing team to bring the ball down so he could block it. It drove his coaches crazy. But Logan being the awesome dad that he is took him out back and played with him a bit to help him out on his offensive game. It helped a ton and every week we saw major improvements. He kicks mainly with is left foot because he is left handed and occasionally that causes him so miss the goal, but again we are working on helping to use his right foot too. His very last game was last Saturday and he did fantastic. He scored five goals! I think he was just showing off for all of the family he had there to cheer him on. Grandma and Grandpa Richardson, Aunt Erica, Spencer, Jamison, and Grandma Hatch were all there. He had quite the cheering section. I think we may have embarrassed him once or twice... oops! How fun our Saturdays were to go and watch him play. We will miss it until next year!

One Saturday while walking through one of our favorite yet dangerous stores (we tend to spend A LOT of money when we go in there) we happened upon a bunch of kids making fun house mirrors. Luckily we got there early enough before Reid's soccer game and he got to join in on the fun. They gave him a kit with an apron, goggles, the fun house mirror kit and a little hammer just his size. Logan and I helped him build it but for the most part he did most of it. He is very good at following instructions and figuring out where the pieces went. The whole way to his soccer game he sat in the back seat making faced into the mirror. It was so funny!

Field Trips

So far this year Reid has had two field trips. The first one was to a dairy just outside of town. The kids got to feed animals, watch cows being milked, watch a video about cows, and eat cheese curds and drink milk. They loved it. Reid thought he knew it all and was telling the kids which cows were bulls and which ones weren't. I don't know where he gets his know it all attitude!!

Next we went to a fire station. It is a newer facility so it was really nice. The kids loved that there were three refrigerates and a huge TV. We got to see where they sleep, eat and exercise. Then of course we got to go out and see the fire truck. Each kid got to sit in the front seat and "drive" the fire truck. The fire man told us all about fire safety and even dressed up in all of his gear so the kids would know what they look like and to not be afraid of them if they ever had to come into their house.

Trains!

This morning at 8:15 the oldest steam powered locomotive came through town. It carried over 65 cars from the Ringling Brothers and Barney and Bailey Circus. It was awesome! The locomotive was HUGE! And of course there was a lot of steam. Reid was scared to get anywhere near the train and it took a lot of encouraging to get some decent pictures. It was so fun to see such an old steam locomotive and some of the clowns from the circus. Totally worth waking up early and getting our behinds in gear to see!

Pregnancy Pictures

My sister has really taken up photography and is quite good. She has wanted to take our family pictures for some time now and this recent change to my body gave her a perfect opportunity to try out her skills. I will say no more and let the picture speak for themselves.

Baby Shower

I am not a huge fan of baby number two showers, but my friends insisted and did a fabulous job! Last Saturday my family and closest friends joined me in celebrating this little bundle of joy soon to arrive. We had lunch at Olive Garden, my favorite place ever, chatted, opened gifts and ate yummy cup cakes. It was just perfect. I am so blessed to have amazing people surround me and that day was overwhelming looking across the table to see those people who have been there supporting me through the years. The Lord has put many of them in my path and I can't thank him enough!

Here is a shout out to my girls who planned the whole thing... Thank you so much Summer, Nicole and Sarah! You girls ROCK!!! :)

First Day Of Preschool

The school year has once again started. This year I could tell that Reid was ready to get back to school and so we were both very excited for this day, but once it was here I have to admit I was quite sad to see him go. One more year has passed and he is older. This parenting thing sure has its ups and downs for me.
We had a visitation day the week before school and Reid was in rare form. He changed class rooms and teacher this year. He didn't talk to any one new and sat on the carpet by himself just watching the other kids play. I invited him out side on the playground to see if I could just talk to him when he said, "I just want to be a shy guy". Okay... so I let him play by himself out side. Thankfully a couple of kids from last year showed up and he got out of his shell a bit. On the first day of school he told me the same thing, he was going to be a shy guy. I reassured him that was fine but to make sure he was a good guy and was kind. When I went to pick him up he was playing and laughing on the play ground and he told me on the way home he decided not to be a shy guy. Sorry long story but so funny to me. Shy guy... makes me laugh. The school year has gone great so far and he really likes his teacher, even better than last year he said. He is sounding out words really well and starting to recognize some sight words. I am so proud of him!

The End Of Summer Fun!

Our friend had a birthday back in July and her husband wanted us to buy tickets to go the a concert at Red Rocks for Goo Goo Dolls. (That is her creeping out in our picture!! ) It was awesome. I never knew Red Rocks could be so cool. And then to see Goo Goo Dolls! Just great. I was for sure tired by the end of the night and I think the only pregnant woman among the over 9,000 people there. But don't worry I was rockin out!!
We had our annual trip to the temple this year. Reid loves to go to the temple. He is such a sweet boy. He had a paper this year that he needed to listen and or find the things on his paper to get a bingo. He got all of them and was rewarded with a piece of candy. Candy can motivate almost any one!

Our friend finally had her baby and we have been able to get our boys together a couple of times now. Man how they have missed each other! This particular day we decided to go to the train museum (well we crashed their plans and joined them). The boys loved it. They are both crazy for trains. It was a great trip that kept them busy for about two hours. Who knew looking a bunch of trains going around and around could entertain two 5 year olds for so long?
Finally here I am at 31 weeks. Getting closer... nervous and excited.

Trying Out Two Wheels

We have been talking a lot to Reid about learning to ride his bike with two wheels instead of with training wheels and one day he decided he would try it. He is scared to death of two wheels. Logan had to really hold him up on the bike because he couldn't quite get his balance. Maybe next year...

Camping Can Be Dangerous

We had a ward camp out (although really it was just a sleep over in town) a month ago. It was a ton of fun hanging out with everyone and eating yummy cobbler and roasting marsh mellows. Unfortunately we are novice campers and forgot a thing or two. Mainly a flashlight. It got dark, Reid still wanted to play and the tree came out of now where. I was there talking with friends while Logan ran home to get Chop and a flash light ( a little late) when about three people came up to me to tell me that Reid was crying and bleeding. Normally I don't rush to Reid crying, but this time involved blood so I ran my large self over to him to find him bleeding from his nose, face and knees. He said he was holding a dog on a leash and the dog took off and Reid didn't see the tree. I think the tree won. Poor guy!

Stampede 2010

This year was no different for us. We had to hit the annual stampede... a couple of times! We ate the yummy food, rode rides, watched our neice dance on the free stage, went to the rodeo, and also a concert. It was a fun filled time for us. This year Logan's office was a sponser so we had bunk house passes that allowed us to eat the food that was catered in. One night was fantastic. We had chicken, ribs, corn on the cob and salad! Yummy! Don't worry though we did hit the food court and got chicken on a stick, pulled pork and lemonade. This guy has the best lemonade ever! The best part is if you save your glass from year to year you only have to pay the refill price. Sweet! We are a bit cheap I know.

Our neice Rylee dances with a company here and they were able to perform on one of the free stages this year. She did so good and we love to be able to be a part of her activies.
Of course we went to a rodeo. Although that night I didn't take any pictures... not sure why. It was fun filled with all the rodeo activies. Calf roping (which a calf got hurt and we still don't know if it survived :( ), barrel racing, team roping, rodeo clown, bull riding and bull fighting. Reid asked the whole rodeo when the bull riding was going to happen. They of course do that at the end so people will stay. Finally it was time for bull riding and Reid couldn't pay more attention. He loved it. Oh and they had mutten bustin. He said he wants to do that next year... we will see!

One of our favorite singers came to the stampede this year. Keith Urban!! LOVE him! Plus he sings our song. It was a great concert. He can really entertain a crowd. One of our friends came with us because his wife was out of town and needed some attention! I hope he didn't feel like a third wheel. We loved having him hang out. Then the other ticket we had we gave to another friend so he and his wife could be at the concert together. They brough their little two month old and he slept in my arms during the first part of the concert until I had to hand him back to his mom. Such a sweet baby. The night was perftect. We had so much fun.

The two weeks that the stampede was here wasn't long enough. We say that every year. So we will wait another year to enjoy all the fun festivites!
