Christmas... and five years later!!

Reid loves trains right now, so Grandma Richardson got him a train book, and as you can see on his face, he loved it!!



He got a train set from "Santa" and he too loves it. He has played with it everyday and it is a nice break for me because he usually doesn't play with toys much!!
We had a great Christmas and it is so fun to be able to live so close to family and share it with them.
Our anniversary was on the 27th of this month and I can't believe it has been five years. It has gone so fast!! I thought when I was planning my wedding five years ago that I would hate how close our anniversary was to Christmas, but actually I love it. It is so fun to have the Christmas spirit still lingering a little bit for us to celebrate our union. Anyway, I wanted to make this post a little bit about my wonderful husband. I definately feel like I got the better deal and that Logan has to fix me up!! He is so understanding and patient. I love that he is so mild mannered and passive. I love that he works hard at everything he does and that he is so smart. I love that he lives to make me happy and provide for our little family. He is truely my opposite and I love that. I love that we don't like the same things and that we don't think alike. I love that we both work on our marriage and don't take it for granted. He gives more than me (which needs to be changed) and he is so selfless. I love him with all my heart and I thank my Heavenly Father for being so patient with me and leading me to this amazing person. We are a blessed family and couldn't ask for more. I love you Logan and thank you for everything, you make me want to be a better person and to make you happy!!

We built a snowman!!!

We have had a busy couple of days...

Our neighbors built a snowman the other day and it got me thinking that Reid would love to build one as well. So one day I decided we would go out and build one, the only problem, the snow was dry it started to get windy and well, I am just not that good at building one. (I never thought it was that hard and that I had NO talent in building one, but I guess you learn something new everyday...) Anyway, we got cold because of the wind and came inside. As I was leaving later that day I noticed that we left the head a little small. Actually really small, it looked like our snowman had a pea size head!! Poor thing and it was right in front of our house, I have learned to do this stuff in the back yard now!! Anyway, Logan saw it and laughed, a little too much I think and today decided to fix it after church. It turned out really cute and Reid loved helping us build a snowman!! So much fun!!

Casabonita!!

Okay, so this was not our idea. Logan has a friend that wanted to have his birthday party here, and they invited us. (He turned 28... maybe a little funny!!) Anyway, we decided to go, not so much to be there for his friend, but to see what Reid thought about it. Well, it was a hit, most of it. The food was less than awful, the place stinks like old water, the acting is bad, the cave is way too scary for a two year old (a huge gorilla hops out and growls) and it feels dirty. Other than all of that we had a good time... :0) Okay so you don't go there for the food, that is for sure, but for little kids, this place couldn't be better. Reid ate absolutely nothing but headed right for the arcade to play. He won about 30 tickets (with our help) and got to get a fake "Bruce" tattoo. (The shark from the movie Nemo). Then we thought it would be fun to have him watch the little show that is performed and he loved it. We got splashed with the water that the "actors" (if I can call them that) fall into. I was grossed out, but Reid didn't care, heck he was licking the wall in the line to get our food, he has no problem with gross things!!! Then it was off to the cave. I couldn't remember if it was scary or not, but it was and Reid came out of it shaking and crying. I felt so bad, he rememebers it too, he was just saying scary monkey to me this morning. Oops!! Anyway, he loved it and we had fun spoiling him with something out of the ordinary. So if you are ever in Colorado and want to go, please don't call us to go!! Just kidding we will go with you, we will just eat before hand and that will help with the experience!!

Lights, Santa, Story Time...

Yep we have had another eventful week. There is this great house here that has a ton of lights. We go every year to see them, but this year was the best because of Reid. He absolutely loved it!! I can't believe how many lights these people put up, but hey we love it so I won't think too much about it! Next we had story time at the library on Tuesday. I have never taken pictures, but this week I had my camera because of Santa being at the library.Anyway, he is so cute listening to the librarian read the books and sing the songs. So of course I had to take some pictures of him. Then we went to see Santa. He loved it. All of the kids went running to him to sit on his lap and Reid followed suit. I think it was good that there were so many kids around that weren't scared of Santa so Reid was more accepting of him. (I am sure the candy cane helped a little...) We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and are so thankful for your love and friendship!

The sick house...

I love this time of year, minus the germs and sickness that goes around. Logan was sick in bed for like three days. I was so ready for him to be better. He went to work today and hopefully will be able to last a full day!! It is no fun when he is sick. He just lays in bed and is grumpy. I told him yesterday that if I were sick I wouldn't be able to just sit in bed because I have little Reid I have to take care of and I can't call in sick to lay in bed. I am not very sympathetic towards him. He said he hopes he never gets a terminal disease... I would be more patient, I think.... :0) Reid had the shakes last night and has been a little whinny, but I don't know what is going on. He seems like he feels okay so I don't know if he is really sick or what. I am just super tired, so I don't know if that is a reflection of my crappy weekend with a sick husband or if I caught it. I sure hope not!!!

Once there was a snowman...

Yep, this is why you live in Colorado. It doesn't get any better than this. It snowed all day yesterday, and not just any snow, it was huge beautiful flaky snow. It covered the whole ground and left a mist of white in the air. We of course (and I am very thankful it was Saturday so Logan could play with us)had to play in the snow. We had a busy day, Reid's cousin Mya is in town and had her birthday party at a gymnastics place (I took pictures, long story, I will post them later) and then it was nap time. He was pretty worn out so he took a good nap and by the time he woke up it was dark. No problem, we would just turn on the porch lights, so we did and had a blast. We wanted to build a snowman, but it was a dry powder snow, which I understand is the best to ski on, I don't ski, so we changed plans and just played in it. Our neighbors were out in the snow too shoveling their driveway, and their kids came over and played with Reid. It was really cute and they were so nice to him. They are really good kids, and their parents are super nice. I love the snow and am so happy it snowed so good. I know you probably aren't supposed to play in the snow on Sunday, but come on, I can't let all of this "unplayed" with snow go to waste. In Colorado you act now, because by tomorrow it may be melted...

Reid being two!!!

So this past month or so Reid has discovered that if he takes the kitchen chair over to the counter, light switch, or closet, he pretty much get whatever he wants. It is terribly frustrating but also so cute!! I am having to be very creative where I put things I don't want him to have because he will just move a chair over and get it off of the counter.

My next picture is just funny. I watch this 4 month old little girl and she has a pacifier. The other day I was looking in Reid's room for something and found this red one. I handed it to Reid just to be funny and he took it and threw it down the stairs. I thought I would just pick it up and put it with the baby stuff later. I forgot and he found it this morning and was sucking on it. I thought it was so funny because he looked so ridiculous!!

Last night I went to the Nutcracker with the "girls" of the Richardson family.
(Not Macey, she is too little! Next year...) It was really fun to do something with them. I can say that I don't need to go to another ballet. Those people are very talented, but no talking for 2 straight hours was pretty hard to handle. (Sorry Amanda and Lauren!!) It was good though and I have never seen the Nutcracker so I can now say I have seen it. It is crazy cold here too. It started snowing yesterday and by the time we got out of the performance Sarah's car was frozen with ice everywhere. I also feel so bad because Sarah couldn't really see out of her back window so she was going to go over the curb and go forward. I got out of the car and checked and said she would be fine to go over it. Unfortunately it was too high and we scraped the bottom of Collins' car. He didn't look too happy when Sarah told him, and we had decided not to tell him because we couldn't see any damage. Sarah's conscience got to her and she told him anyway. So there is is adventures of the Richardson's home. Not too exciting but we love it!!

Our happenings...

Okay so the other night I was heating up some really yummy soup in the microwave. I was very careful while taking it out so I wouldn't burn my hands, but to no avail it got on my hands. Well like most people's first reaction you try to get rid of the thing that burnt you. Not thinking it through clearly, I dropped the soup on the counter and yep, soup went everywhere. It landed all over my face and my left eye (just below my eyebrow) took the brunt of it. It hurt so bad that I was screaming and turning around trying to get to my sink to wash it off. I guess in the process of trying to find the sink I knocked the bowl onto the ground and made an even bigger mess! Logan was yelling back at me trying to figure out what it was that I was doing. It was total mayhem!! Poor Reid is scarred for life because of the scene he say that night!! Thankfully I think I will be okay. As you can kind of see in the picture, it is still a little red, but not bad. (Not the best picture mind you, I didn't wear very much make up on the account of the burn!) Anyway, I thought some of you would enjoy such a moment to laugh at, go ahead, laugh at me!! :0)

My next set of pictures are our house. We decided this year to try and decorate We our house with Christmas lights. We were the only ones on our street that hadn't done it, we felt lame, so we got this brilliant idea to try it out. Well we went to Hobby Lobby and we were so excited because everything was 50% off. Unfortunately for us, thatis still too much money. So we bought some bows and garland that were really cheap and got another brilliant idea. Yep living close to family can be a blessing. Logan's mom has a ton of extra lights that they don't use anymore that she said we could borrow. I was unaware of the color of the extra lights until we to there. Oh yeah baby, pink is the new red!! You can't really tell, atleast that is what we tell ourselves. We took them gratefully and set out to decorate our house. We love the columns with the garland and bows, and our little tree is nice, but a sad, sad little tree. It looks okay in the pictures, but not so great in person. Anyway, we feel like the white trash house on the block, but hey there is always next year to make it better, right??

... and Thanksgiving continues!

So my sister, Erica, gave me some more pictures yesterday and I just thought they were worth putting on here. I love the pictures of Uncle Brett wrestling with all of the kids. It started out with Spencer learning some moves and then it ended with a dog pile on Brett.
It was really cute!
I absolutely love this picture, just because all the "guys" are hovering over the fried turkey "carving" it. In reality they were all there just trying it to make sure it was okay to eat!!
Poor Logan got roped into doing dishes because I was trying to get Reid to lay down for a nap. My parents were very thankful, he did practically all of the dishes from that day.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was great. It is always good to be with family and reflect on all of the things I am grateful for. On Thursday morning my sister, sister-in-law and friend ran/walked the turkey trot. It is a 5K trail that benefits the cardiovascular department at NCMC. Anyway, Mirissa (my friend) and I thought we would try to run it. Well I haven't worked out in about a month, so you can imagine that by the first mile, I was beat. Mirissa continued on with out me as I walked some of the trail. It was so fun and great way to start the day off. It was freezing though, which made it hard to breath. I was very sore for the next couple of days, which I did not enjoy.
Then we went to my parents house to eat dinner. It was great, thanks to mom!! She always does such a good job on Thanksgiving dinner. I am so grateful that Amanda (my sister-in-law) stayed longer because we had so much fun hanging out with her. On Friday we all went shopping to try and find some great deals. I didn't find great deals, but I found good ones and yes, spent way too much money!!! Then on Saturday (which was Logan's birthday, happy birthday honey) Erica and Amanda and I did crafts all day. Dad and Devo came into town to have lunch with us and dad ended up helping us with our crafts, I am sure he loved that!! Amanda went home with a ton of stuff and I am sure that Brett isn't going to let her come and stay with us again. It was a ton of fun and I loved spending time with my family. I hope all of you had a great holiday!!!

A few pictures of our week

I wasn't feeling well on Sunday morning and so Logan was in charge of breakfast and Reid. This is how it turned out with Reid getting out everything in our cupboards.


I took Marvin and Chop to the vet on Monday and Marvin hated it and Chop loved it. After $150.00 later we found out that night that our beloved animals were peeing all over our carpets. I was so mad that I just spent so much money on them at the vet. Grrrr!

Monday was a busy day. Logan and I also had knee appointments and so we decided to bribe Reid with a sucker. This was the result. He was an absolute mess.

Last night was not so good. Logan and Collin decided to stay up all night and work at the office. I didn't sleep at all either. I am lucky that Logan doesn't travel because I would not do well if he did. Anyway, I just thought it was a funny picture and he was really tired.

Much to be thankful for...

So I am a huge slacker on this thing. I will get better. My sister and sister-in-law did these lists of what they are thankful for and I thought it would be a good idea to do one as well. Over the last few months I have begun to be really grateful for my MANY blessings and what the Lord has been so gracious to give me. I take too much for granted in my life. So here it is...
1. First and most important, I am thankful for a loving Savior who fogives me daily (hourly and minute by minute). I have learned to really depend on Him and trust in Him more than I have ever had to. I love my Savior.
2. What would I do with out Logan? I am so thankful for him. He is my opposite in every way and is such an example to me. I love him!!
3. I am thankful for Reid. I have learned to cherish him in every way. He is all I have and I love him and am grateful for the two years we have been able to spend toegther, just the two of us (and Logan when he isn't at work)!
4. I am thankful for the gospel. I love my callings and the service I am able to give. It is so true and am thankful for my testimony.
5. I am thankful for my family (parents and siblings). They are the most amazing people in the world. They are such wonderful examples to me and they have all married great people and had cute little kiddos.
6. I love America. I am thankful for this country. I am thankful for the many Americans serving in the Iraq war. Their bravery does not go unoticed by me. THANKYOU!!!!
7. I am thankful for my home. (I haven't moved as much as Amanda)! But I am still grateful to feel settled and in a home that I love and has become our safe haven from the world.
8. I am so thankful for great friends. I have been blessed to have great people in my life and I love all of you!!!
9. Since it is Thanksgiving, I want to say that I am greateful for the bounty of food that we have. What a blessing it to be able to go to a store and buy what I want to feed my family.
10. Last, I am grateful for music. Music moves me and touches me in so many ways. I love to sing and listen to the music of others. It is my way of sharing with others my feelings.
I hope that I can always remember to thank my father in heaven daily for everything He has blessed me with. My blessings are numerous!! Have a happy Thanksgiving!!! :0)

Coolio??

Okay so the one time I really wanted my camera, I didn't have it. Last night we went to the Nuggets game. The announcer kept telling us to stay in our seats because there was going to be a performance by a grammy award winner. We wondered who would come and perform at a Nuggets game but decided it was worth it to hang around and see. Well it was none other than Coolio!! Cool huh? It gets better, we had tickets for the club level and Logan and I decided to walk around a bit during the third quater and there he was chillin' at some bar. I wanted to take a picture with him so bad just so I could post it on my blog! But of course I didn't have it and so you don't get to see me with Coolio. Anyway, I thought it was pretty funny!!

Blah, blah, blah...

Okay I have been feeling really guilty for not updating this recently, but Logan lost my cord to my camera that hooks into my computer, so it is really quite a process now to get pictures on my blog. Well I have been lazy and have not had the resources I needed when I wasn't feeling lazy. So this post will be with out pictures which I know makes it a bit more boring but atleast you get to hear from me!!! :0)
So I have been trying to keep myself busy so I don't think of all the tribulation I am going through and so my house is getting the brunt of it. I am becoming miss home decorater. I love it!! I painted my bedroom a milky chocolate brown and got new bedding. My bedding is a striped duvet in white and silvery blue. The contrast between the walls and our bed is really pretty. I want to do some crown molding in there evenutally. We are doing crown molding in our living room first. We have bought all of the molding we just need to borrow the tools and put it up. I think it will look beautiful. Reid's room is next and I have several ideas for him. I just need to pick one now and go with it. I love decorating his room. I love all the boy stuff I get to do in there. So I have much to do and I am loving getting my creative mind flowing again!!
Anyone want a dog??? Yes our beloved Chop is driving us crazy. He is marking his territory all over our house. Logan has been so dilligent in cleaning the carpet and getting all of the pee out. But Chop is stuck to a leash in the kitchen and not aloud off of it for any reason. We have really tried to be patient with him and train him, but he is just a really difficult dog. I feel bad leaving him on his leash, but I also don't have the time and money to keep cleaning up pee or getting new carpet. I now know why my mom said to never have pets in the house! I hate when I have to admit when she is right!!
I got a new ipod!!!!!!! I couldn't have been happier when I turned it on for the first time and got to listen to my music again. I was in heaven. I don't think I have ever missed music so much!! I love it and I love being able to make my own playlists and not have to listen to the radio! I love it!
Okay I think that about concludes it, oh yeah one more thing. We took Reid to the Bee Movie on Friday and it is so cute. It was Reids' first time a movie theater and he was really upset when we were at home and we couldn't just go downstairs and watch it. He got over it and did as good as any two year old with energy could in the theater. So if you want a cute movie to see, that is a good one!! Have a great day!

Halloween... and everything else!

Okay so last week was crazy busy for some reason so I didn't post anything because I could never find the time to do it. So finally a moment to breath and make a post. I had a great week. On Tuesday morning I talked Logan into going to story time with us so that our costumes would make sense to people, they still didn't get it. Oh well. But it was fun, there were a lot of really cute costumes and then they got to go around the library and get candy. It was cute. Then of course the next day was Halloween. I baked cinnamon rolls for the bake-off and Logan decided he was going to make chili for the chili cook-off. Niether of us won, which is a crock, becuase if anyone has tasted my mom's cinnamon rolls you know they are good. I used her recipie and they turned out absolutely divine!!
Oh well, because we won best costume and that makes up for the fixed bake-off!! We went to the stake center for a fall festival and had a ton of fun. There were games and food and a lot of great costumes. Reid mostly just picked up marshmellows from off of the ground from a game, but he enjoyed himself and that is all that matters. The rest of the week wasn't super busy but I had fun. On Friday I went to lunch with a friend of mine (and Erica and mom) to chick-fillet. It was crazy busy there!! Then Erica, Mom and I went to a craft show here in Greeley that another friend of mine was in and shopped and spent too much money. Oh well, it is only money, right?? Then we went to hobby lobby and got more crafty stuff and I made a wreath for Mom. It turned out a lot better than I thought it was going to, so that was good. Saturday was fun. I finally painted my bedroom. I have wanted to since we moved in, but I just didn't know what color to do. So I found some new bedding that I liked and picked out a color that I thought went with it. It is still in the new phase of decorating, but I can see the vision and I think it will all look really good when I get it put together. (It is a milk chocolate brown). So it was a busy week but a lot of fun, enjoy our pictures!! (Elle, Macey and Raggedy Ann. I thought this costume was just darling!!)
