What A Weekend!!!

Our family had one crazy fun weekend full of adventures! First off- It was tanners birthday on Sunday! Our little tantor is now 3 yrs old! And he is such a 3 yr old boy- he defines it! He loves mud, dinosaurs, cars, bugs, and teasing his sisters. He also loves to cuddle, tickle, and wrestle. Most of you know he was a preemie when he was born- he has come a long way from that for sure. Grandma Westover go to be here too thanks to fact she saved us this weekend... WHy you say? because both Tyson and I were gone- but not together!...

Ty took a trip to Moab with all his High school buddies and Rusty. This used to be a yearly event, but with everyone having carrers, families and spilt among different states, it has been a while. These guys are sure special and have gone through everything together. They had a lot of fun and stayed fairly safe. Ty realized the dessert was a lot more "desserty looking" than he remembered -we have been spoiled with green all winter! So While Ty was in Moab, Utah- Mom flew to Houston Tx because I was in...

Huntsville, Tx with our 4th year High Adventure group. I am the ward camp director this year- and therefore really felt I needed to be there. You can imagine from the picture below how much sleep I got with 40 - 14 yr olds! I also got to go Biking, Hiking and best of all Kayaking! and Yes- there ARE alligators here in texas. We were at a lake and I made sure to ask a lot of questions before getting into the water (are they here in THIS lake? Do they stay on shore? have any been seen today?) my answers were similar to : our rules here are that you can't "poke" the gators with the oars, but they are really used to people and stay on the shore during the day, and no- no one has seen any today. I guess they thought that I was curious instead of cautious because as soon as we got our kayaks in the water they called us over to see soemthing (I was thinking... beaver?) sure enough there was a 6-7 ft. gator swiming in circles near the shore. We were probably about 15 ft away. The guide told us not to get too close because she was probably a mother protecting her eggs. She then turned her head at us and raised her tail- I found out my kayak could go pretty fast the OTHER direction. HAHA. And No -I did not have my camera with me- after watching the previous group of girls get very wet- I opted to keep my camera on shore.

After the Rain!

So we played in the rain and then jumped in the puddles too!!!!! Weather is fun when it isn't too wild or cold. And don't worry - for anyone concerned- we made sure they stayed far from the drain. Ty used a board and mud to make a small dam for splashing in- what a good Dad!

Fun in the Mud

I know that we are really just a bunch of Idaho Potatoes- but this really proves it! We have had rain storms all day yesterday and today so for fun we took the subaru out to go play in the mud! The kids just giggle like crazy and Tyson says "YEEeeahhhHH". What a fun family activity- right! The video is of Ty taking the car through a puddle in an attempt to help clean off the sides of the car. I had to carefully climb out of the muddy door without getting any in the inside so I could get the camera.

My turn to get a haircut- (Just a trim...I got 6" off!) Yikes! I also learned it is very hard to get a good picture taking it yourself. But- Ty says he likes it! and cristine said she didn't recognize me when she got off the bus.

Hey All! Wow two weeks goes by so fast! This is what we have done:

Ty got our lights up on the house! YAY! It looks so beautiful. He did a wonderful job! It was a LOT of work.

Cristine helped me make Jello "eggs" for easter dinner- she was actuallt much better at pouring the liquid than I was. I should hire her to cook for me!

Being a mom requires learning new things. I have learned how to trim hair. I did the kids this last week and the girls wanted bangs- It was scary to cut them at first because it was my first time to do bangs, but they held still for me and they turned out cute!

I needed to take more pictures when grandma and grandpa were visiting, but I kept forgeting. But I did get a cute video of them on the tramp! Silly Grandpa!
Tanner also was playing with the swedish fish inside our plastic easter eggs (the easter bunny was too late to find jelly beans) He is saying "swim, fishy swim swim"

Sea World Fun!

So I know I am posting this late- but we got to have grandma and grandpa come for a really fun visit!!! (they got to see ALL the pictures too) WE took the kids to San Antonio Sea World. It was soo much fun! They got to feed the Lorakeet Birds with a cup of nectar and throw some fish at the sea lions. How Cool! WE sat up right up front in the splash zone for the Shamu Show, the Baluga Whale Show and the Sea Lion Show (we even took ponchos and a waterproof camera) yet, we never got a drop on us. WE are not sure whether we got lucky (those around us got SOAKED) or jipped (because we were prepared!) Either way I'm sure it wouldn't happen again. Tanner decided that Shamus happy Habor wasn't happy at all, as he could see below him crawling through the net and we had to rescue him. Cristine was just tall enough to go on the shamu roller coaster (small) and although she was very scared, in the end she decided it was fun, and we would have done it again if we hadn't waited for a VERY long time in a line the first time. Brooklyn says she loved the sea lions the most. Sorry our camera died the second day. Be prepared that our tickets are yearly passes and if you come see us you could talk us into taking you too.

For all you Spongebob fans- This is a GIANT Clam.

This was Dolphin Cove- WE got there at feeding time and wish we knew better to feed them when we had the chance- It wasn't crowded at all. They swim right up to you and you can touch them. Tanner kept waving and saying "Hi Dolphins!"

Our kids in the Hotel- I was soo glad they had hats.

I had to laugh at this sign, because Texas is pretty darn FLAT!!! It was even very flat where the sign was placed.
