What would you do on the last day of January?

What a wonderful summer day- I mean Spring - I mean - what season is this? Oh yeah - It's still winter but today was 75 degrees and just beautiful so we went to the park and made a fairy house!

Our funny Story of the day:

On the way to Our Basketball game we pulled into the stake center and there was a group of scouts in the baseball field next to the church on their "winter" campout. they had their tents and everything. They were all out there shivvering in their jackets and I started to laugh!!! I told the girl I was with that "back home the scouts camp in the snow and make snow caves and learn how to survive!. "(she just gave me a funny look). Then During the game the scouts came inside to cook their bkfst because it was cold outside. It did frost over last night but it was already 60 degrees by the time the game was over. I'm proud of my "real scout" hubby and brothers.

our weekly adventures!

Hey y'all! So this week ;

I made a really good recipe for banana chocolate chip muffins. These are the top 8 (peanut, egg, soy, dairy, wheat (& gluten),tree nut, fish, shellfish) free! WE loved them! I also took pics. of my slow roasted chicken. I am thinking of making an allergy free cookbook of reciped that actually taste yummy with no or few substiutions. Example: foods that naturally do not contain any of the top 8 allergens. I am curious about what others think of this.

We also got the bottom part of our wall painted. Ty did a good job with the sanding, caulking and painting the chair molding. I painted the bottom. we think it looks like hot cocoa with roasted marshmallows.

we finally got tanner a bed. It is a "cars" theme bed and as you can see he loves it. He won't sleep in it (we're working on that) but he LOVES it. We got it in the woodlands classified which has some pretty cool stuff as they are not allowed by the HOA to have any yard sales. HOS's here are pretty strict. more on that another day.

We also had an adventure with ty's subaru when we found out that it really can't do "everything" we took the kids for a ride to go check the mail (without shoes of course) and ty decided it would be fun to take us for a ride on one of the trails out by our house. Well we got stuck in a piggy mud bog. Of course since the kids had no shoes we couldn't even walk home. Ty borrowed a bike from a passing biker and took off to go find help. We ended up getting a ride home with a neighbor who then went back with a tow rope to pull out our car. HA HA. It was certainly an adventure. I sure wish we had our camera.

Starting work on our house

So... ty got a brad nail gun for christmas and the accompaning air compressor. We decided to play with it by putting up a chair rail around the house. . He is doing an awesome job! It is then my job to paint the lower half of the wall a darker beige color to help protect it from our kiddos.

Tyson's New Hobby

Tyson has a new hobby he calls "hog hunting" or otherwise known as "digging". He takes new subaru out to the trails behind the house in the woods and find all the mud puddles, embackments, and holes he can drive in. New years eve was fun. We joined a neighborhood in another area and watched their fireworks. When they say "Texas Loud- Texas Proud" they really mean it!
