This community is dedicated to lightsaber enthusiasts. To those of us who have way too much time on our hands. We who spend countless hours toiling away in our shops, garages, basements, dens, and even our bedrooms building those breathtaking plasma weapons known as lightsabers.

What kid didn’t watch Star Wars and wanted to be a Jedi? Running around in our pajamas with an empty paper towel roll pretending to be Luke Skywalker saving the galaxy from the evil forces of the Empire. Branches, yardsticks, Wrapping paper rolls, flashlights, the most common of household items became a laser sword in our hand. Who among us didn’t cherish our first store bought lightsaber? Standing in front of the mirror posing and swinging the brightly colored plastic tube back and forth imitating that famous humming sound. Some of us never totally outgrew that. Today our lightsabers are made of PVC and metal. As we’ve learned to turn imagination into reality, we sometimes lend that knowledge to our inner child and whether we admit it or not, we now construct realistic looking lightsabers.

If you use a lathe to form aluminum bars or you are still using cardboard and crayons to construct lightsabers, this is your community. Perhaps you always wanted to make your own lightsaber but lacked the creativity, or if you’re just a Star Wars fan in general, that’s okay too. Sith or Jedi, Wookie or ewok, all are welcome.

Lets establish some ground rules:

1) This is an open community where you are free to share your creations, resources, and ideas. All are welcome here.

2) I support community advertisement. Some people have been kind enough to let us advertise this community in their journals and communities. I invite all Star Wars related advertisements; all I ask is that you take one of our banners with you and post it in your community.

3) Please reframe from bashing, flaming, or being overly critical of other’s creations. Chances are that person worked really hard on their project and there is nothing more crushing than to have someone come along and rip on your hard work. If you want to be a jerk, go join some stuck up community and do it there.

4) I encourage you to contribute to this community. I am always open to suggestions and if you can think of or do anything to make this a better place, please do.

5) I’m about a foul mouth mofo who doesn’t pull any punches, but not here. Star Wars is for the most part a PG-13 universe. Lets keep that same theme here. There’s no telling when some kid wants to visit this community and learn how to build a lightsaber or show off his art project.

6) Have fun. It is my hope that everyone who joins this community enjoys being here.
