1) genderbendbb has opened writer sign ups for its Big Bang this year. Artist and beta reader sign ups will start on May 1. Come join the genderbending fun with a 15,000 word story of your own.

2) oldschoolfic is running a Spring Fling Fic Exchange. It's open to all fandoms that have closed their canon (Buffy, Babylon 5, Charmed, Highlander, Forever Knight, etc...). Come on by and sign up!

So, tell your friends. Tell your communities. Tell those people over on Dreamwidth! And if there's a current challenge I'm missing, let me know.

Yes, it's that time again. Time for the Genderbend Big Bang. Writer sign ups and the schedule have gone up at genderbendbb. Come on over and play with us.

Tell your friends. Tell your communities. Tell those people on Dreamwidth. The more, the merrier!

Organization is the order of the day. I've finished all of my academic library assignments for the week. Now I concentrate on the assignment due Monday, and the YA materials assignments which are due at the end of semester, which is next month.

Boy, I'll be glad when this semester is over.

In happier news, I'm letting the NOS stew for a bit. Something's wrong with the story; I just have to figure out what. In the meantime, I think I'll pull out one of my other ideas and see what develops.

In fannish news, genderbendbb is gearing up for its second year. Writer sign ups open next week. There will be a significant change this year, though. I strongly encourage all participants not to write obscure fandoms. The more obscure they are, the less likely you'll get artwork. So, try to go for more known fandoms. But that's the only change.

Also, beginning this summer, joyfulfeather and I are joining forces to create an Original Character Big Bang. Now these will only be original characters in fanfiction. I think there's already a big bang for original stories out there. We plan to get started this summer. Official dates are coming soon.

So, what are some upcoming things in your world?

Ladies and gentlemen, the Master List of the 2009 stories is up at genderbendbb. If you get a chance, please come by and give the writers and artists lots of feedback.

Also, three of our writers had artists who defaulted on them. If you know SG-1, Torchwood/DW, or Kamen Rider Kiva and don't mind working with a genderbend, I would be ever so grateful if you swung by and claimed one. I feel bad that they didn't get art.

If you want to play next year, sign ups are going to start in April, and I'll probably need some mod help.

In the meantime, I've toyed with the idea of running one for original characters, but that may be too much for me to handle. What do you think?

Title: Fault
Written for: thatfilmgirl for her birthday
Fandom: Supernatural
Characters: girl!Sam, boy!Ruby, gen
Summary: Death followed her everywhere, and she had to stop it.
Disclaimer: So not mine. Everything belongs to Eric Kripke.
Author's Note: This is an AU set at the beginning of season three. Thank you to super_robyn for the beta read.

( It was all her fault.Collapse )

Hey, everyone! I wasn't having any luck with the artists who have signed up so I'm asking here. Does anyone know this fandom well enough to create art for it? It's the last one, and I'm desperate for an artist.

Title: Born to be King
Fandom: Kamen Rider Kiva
Type: (het or slash or gen) het
Pairing: None
Genderbended Character and Her/His Face: Kurenai Wataru (face: Horita Maki)

Summary of about 3 to 5 lines telling us what the story is about:
Born to be the Fangire King, half-human Kurenai Wataru has hidden herself from the world in an attempt to hide her heritage and save her life. But now her secret is out, and she must figure out how to deal with both her Bishop (who hates humans) and her human friends (who dislike Fangire). What is a confused crossbreed to do?

Help...please!

Just wanted to let y'all know there are only four days left for writer sign ups at genderbendbb. If you haven't signed up yet and you really want to write one this summer, please do it before Friday.

On Friday, artists and beta readers sign up. If you get a chance, let all your artist and beta reading friends know.

At present, we have 25 writers signed up. (Yay!) We're going to need just as many artists and beta readers.

genderbendbb has a total of twelve people signed up thus far, and it's only day two! I'm so excited!

Today is the big day. Writer sign ups for The Genderbend Big Bang have started over at genderbendbb. All of it is explained over there, but basically, you write a 15,000 or more word genderbend or genderswap by July 20. Then you get to revise, and stories are due on September 1. Plus, you get art to go with your awesome story. So come on over and join in on the genderbend-y goodness.

And tell everyone you know. The more, the merrier!

Also, secondstrings has its prompts up for claiming. They're multifandom and focus on the minor characters. Come on over and claim one today.

With the writer sign-ups for the Genderbend Big Bang on the horizon, I decided to go ahead and create the community genderbendbb. Head on over there for more information about this challenge.

And I want to thank genderbenderfic for letting me post things about this challenge. I just didn't think it was right of me to take over that comm with all this Big Banging. But you are linked, and I'd appreciate any help I can get.

Writer sign ups begin on April 1 so go peruse the place.:)
