DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - A man was arrested after he hit his wife in the back of the head with an onion. James Izzolena, 54, of Des Moines, had been drinking, became upset with his wife, Nicole Izzolena, 27, and threw an onion at her during an argument on Wednesday, police said.
Police said James Izzolena admitted throwing the onion at his wife but said he didn't mean to hit her.
- Matt and I running to catch the elevator that was almost too full, Regan getting claustrophobic - Dan complaining every 5 minutes that he had to get up at 5 AM - Shawn belting out things like "There's no way they're gonna play!" around 6:40, then betting Jason around 9:30 that the game would in fact start - Matt wasting time during the rain delay by looking at Ride Accidents, which included the lethargic "another inflatable accident" - The weather being on channels 4 and 7 for pretty much all of prime time, which included reporters "taking shelter," camera shots of a parking lot and a phone call to a Target Store Manager which, on mute, looked as though he was reporting the weather - Todd commenting on the black spot on the radar map that a city (now I forget which), "is gone! Do you live there? No? Good, because it's gone!" - Jim repeatedly slamming a chair against the counter in frustration - The continuous insulting of Craig Monroe and Brandon Inge - The fact that our video board looked like crap after the storm, which meant we didn't need camera operators, a director, a Thunder operator... although Matt did some Thunder and also took over replay once Eric left.
Jim: I smell a whiff of B.O. - it must be Bobb!" Bobb: You mean you smell a whiff of B-O-B-B! Jim: You mean Gay-O-Gay Gay.
(I don't remember the quotes from Bobb and Jim, but another banter involved Jim saying Bobb was going to a Dick Bar instead of a Titty Bar, and that Bobb was upset the meat factory was closed)
Todd: I wouldn't hit you Jim, you know why? You might hit me back! Me: That kind of thinking could stop wars.
Bobb: Mind if I check eBay, I have a couple bids up. Me: More pink shirts?
Lee (at about 3:00 AM): During the 14th inning stretch, can I play "House of the Rising Sun?"
Jim: We're all gonna light up a cigarette in here. Me: The same one?
I'm sure I'm forgetting some stuff too, but it was a long night.
Then there was this, which was funny at 4 AM, though it's since been fixed.
Weird. In the past three days I have run into two people I used to work with at Perani's after not seeing anyone from there since I "left" 11 months ago. Wow, 11 months. I worked there 11 months, and it's 11 months later. 22 months since I started there. Insane. Hard to believe I've been away from Meijer for 7 months, although it's not as odd to thinkabout since I was only there for about two months. Stupid ass company, hiring people for seasonal work and not telling them it would be seasonal. Still, I'm probably going to go in and ask if I can work those two holiday months again.
Anyway, I saw Derek (I think that's his name... it doesn't sound right for some reason) at Comerica Park, apparently he is an usher there this year, but this was the first time I had seen him. Then I saw Katelyn today when I went into Value World on my way home from a RGIS job. I didn't think to mention Derek to her, which would have been funny since he liked her, and she was creeped out by him. I think he even asked her out once. Next time I see her in there I'll have to say something.
It makes me wonder what all these other people are up to these days. Erika, Ashlee, Dave, Nick, and the others that left or got fired because Perani's hates people.
I worked a CVS today and saw three more on my way home. Averages about one every 3.5 miles. It's funny because they advertise the ability to order prescriptions and merchandise and have it delivered. I hope lazy people who can actually get up and walk or drive to any of the ones within 3 miles of them aren't using it.
No, I have not read the Harry Potter book. I want to be the only person ever to see only one of the movies (not even the first one!) and read none of the books.
Tanith Belbin, Olympic Silver Medalist: So, we can only give this prize out to real Tigers fans - so tell me, Who's Your Tiger?" Fan: Curtis Granderson! Tanith: Alright! That's good enough!
Tigers lose, Indians win (against Oakland, I think). Same shit, different day. Sheffield is going to serve his suspension FINALLY. Yeah, pick maybe the biggest weekend of the season so far to do it. You could've sat out the Atlanta series, or the Washington series, but noooo. Wait until you get back home and face a division rival.
At dinner today we were joking about these people waiting in line to buy the iPhone. I said that I'd love to stand in one of these lines, finally get to the front, and buy something else. Matt said he'd want to buy something that people stood in line for years ago, like an Xbox. Dan said he would ask for change of a dollar. Fun stuff.
I'm kinda upset tonight. Maybe I won't stay up until 5 am like I thought I might.
So I think I'm back on schedule. I stayed up until 5 AM Wednesday morning, then went to work at 11 am. The tigers game got postponed, so I was able to have some time at home to do nothing. I went to bed Wednesday night at around 8 PM, because I had to work at 5 AM Thursday. I got there at 4:40 or so, and left at 9:50. You know they won't give me 5 hours, they'll probably adjust the timesheet so I started at 5. Then I worked the Tigers game, and I left there around 4 something
So last night/this morning I went to bed around 3, and got up at 2:30 PM. Haha. It's been so nice outside I had the window open, so I did not want to leave my bed. So in an hour I'll go to Comerica Park. The next "day game" is on Saturday but that's not until 3:55 so I won't have to wake up at 10 AM. Sunday's game was changed to 8:05 since ESPN picked it up, and that means I won't have to get up in the morning until Thursday the 5th :)
I met two new people in the past couple days online which made me remember how fun it was, for me, to just sit online and BS all night. The net's been boring for a few years now, so with the exception of people like Nay, there hasn't been many people to talk to online that I don't know in person. Good friends that I've met like Jill and Ashley are never online, so it makes for some boring times.
It's supposed to be 54 tonight? I hope my little weather bar isn't lying to me.
was this the first hang out with Mary? hmm. Strange that I didn't put more emphasis on that but I guess I didn't know where it was going at that point.
