Alexander Swerdlow

Hello! I'm currently a CS PhD student in the IRIS Lab at Stanford, advised by Chelsea Finn.

Before starting my PhD, I was a research intern at Physical Intelligence. Prior to that, I was a Master's of Robotics student at CMU, advised by Katerina Fragkiadaki and working with Deepak Pathak. Finally, before my MS, I did my undergrad in Computer Science at UCLA, where I was fortunate to be advised by Bolei Zhou.

This site mainly exists to hold my CV, contact info, and my recent projects. If you want to take a look at some of my code, please see my GitHub profile. I may, on occasion, post updates on my blog. Outside of research, I love to spend time outdoors.

Dynamic Dust3r

tl;dr: By generating a set of dynamic scenes in Blender, we can get ground-truth 3D point tracks and train a dust3r-style model (typically used for static 3d-reconstruction) to take in two consecutive frames, and predict a static depth prediction in one frame and a set of 3d deltas in the second frame, enabling tracking and reconstruction of dynamic scenes.

Interpertable image editing with latent objects

tl;dr: Given an unlabeled image collection, we can condition a diffusion model on a set of segmented region features taken from a off-the-shelf encoder & segmentation model. By augmenting the denoising target and using contrastive losses, these compressed input features become a bottleneck that allows for positional and semantic control for individual objects in a given image.
