- I desperately want to buy Metal Gear Solid 4, but, alas, what with money being extremely tight at the moment, we're having to put it to the side for now. To those on my flist who have it - NO SPOILERS, PLEASE. ;) *is going to to try to avoid any MGS-related comms like the plague for a while* (Well, I normally do, as the fandom scares me, but I'll be avoiding them even more than usual.) I'll use the wait to replay the other games, I think. ^_^ Right after I've finished my current Silent Hill playthroughs. (ZOMG Konami binge, for the win.)
- On that note, a sudden random thought just occurred to me: SH/MGS crossover. That could be pretty awesome, if in the hands of a good author.
- I think I want to work in a garden centre.
- I recently saw another trailer for Siren: New Translation. GUH. *drools* It looks AMA-ZING. (Did I catch a glimpse of Miyako in the trailer, or is it just someone who resembles her?)
- Got my paid account renewed a few days ago, but I now only have 45 icons. So, I recently underwent an extreme icon overhaul.
- My left knee keeps playing up. I get this pain in it, and it feels like it's about to give way. It happened on Friday and on Saturday, mostly during work at the supermarket. It's been a recurring thing for a few months now - I may go to the doctor about it.
- Over the past few months, courtesy of Euan, I've really gotten into Naruto. I have a new obsession now. XD
- Our wedding anniversary is coming up, and I still haven't actually made a detailed update - with pictures - about the actual wedding. D'oh! I'll still do it at some point anyway, even if it is nearly over a year late. :P
- I have a new OT3. Silent Hill, movieverse, Rose/Cybil/Pyramid Head. I AM TWISTED, YES. (Please, for the love of Douglas' boxer shorts, someone write it - and write it well - before I go insane.)
- I also want to get Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, which has only recently seen a console release, though I'm not sure if I want it for the 360 or PS3. Once again, however, I shall wait until money isn't quite so tight. Or until it goes down in price. I'm still desperate for a proper sequel to Quake 4, though. Or an expansion pack. Or something. I mean, come on, it ends on an open-ended note, for crying out loud. I'd like to see the whole thing expanded upon some more.
- I really quite fancy some pasta for tea.
Thank you, that is all.

Yeah, would've updated yesterday, but the Internet connection at my house was fucking up. So, I'm updating at my mum's, on my lunch break.
Lately, I've been pretty baffled by people asking me if I'm "growing my hair out". ...Yes, that's why I had it all chopped off, genuises. *facepalms*
I've also been doing Wii Fit for the past couple of weeks at my mum's, and I recently set it up at home, too. My mother entered the wrong height for me (she was convinced that I'm 5' 4", when I'm actually 5' 3" - I know, I checked the other day) - so no frickin' wonder I've been appearing as "underweight"! On my profile at home, I entered my correct height, so I've now been appearing as "ideal". ^_^ I changed my height on my profile on my mum's Wii today, so now I'm "ideal" on there, too.
Yesterday, Sheldon came round in the evening. He's enjoying being single. XD He went to London Expo - me and Euan were unable to, really, given that we're kind of short on money at the moment. We may go to the next one, later this year, provided I can convince the supermarket to let me swap some of my holiday dates.
I think I'm coming down with a cold. >_< My throat's been aching and feeling grotty over the past few days, and I'm getting a bit sniffly.
Me and Euan walked into work together this morning, which is a first. It's one of those rare days where we both start (and finish) at the same time, and I actually managed to drag myself out of bed at the right time this morning. XD It was a nice walk - it's been raining lately, so it was wet out, but it was lovely and breezy and almost quiet. I like walking in weather like that.
Whyyyy did I offer to do overtime at the office tomorrow? o_O Oh well, I'm only offering to work for at least four hours, anyway. It's all in the name of money. :P
I was going to rant about work earlier, actually, but I may save that for tomorrow. *shrug*
When I was on the phone to Euan earlier, I could hear my own voice echoing back at me quite clearly - fuck, I forgot how irritating my voice sounds. It's kind of... nasally and I realised just how similar I sound to my sister (except my voice is deeper than hers).
Also, isn't it funny that you don't really tend to notice your own accent when you are speaking, but when you hear your voice being played back or whatever, you then think "God, do I really sound like that?". My Somerset "farmer-esque" accent seems to be getting stronger the older I get. XD It's not hugely noticable, I don't think, but it definitely makes itself known occasionally.
I do owe some of you guys some comments, but I really ought to be going to bed soon, so I'll do it tomorrow after work. ^_^
I just read my most recent bank statement. The last outward payment was made on July 20th. However, according to my statement, the payment was made at Center Parcs, where I went for my honeymoon.
...I wasn't even at Center Parcs on the 20th. I returned home on the 13th.
The payment wasn't much - less than £10 - but I'm a tad bit concerned now.
Euan's almost completed Blood Omen 2 (I've been pestering him about it for ages, so that he can start playing the awesomeness that is Defiance upon BO 2's completion), and I've got back into Klonoa 2. I've been trying to get all the gems & Momett Dolls again - I just recently collected another Doll, but I'm still not having much luck with those bastarding crystals. Methinks a little GameFAQs consultation is in order!
My DVD copy of The Red Shoes arrived today, too. I ordered it at the weekend, upon discovering that it has finally been released in this country. I'd been tempted to order the Korean DVD before now, but I thought I'd wait and see if Tartan Video or Optimum Asia or someone else would release it - and they did, so, yay. I've been interested in seeing that film after seeing a certain clip of it used in a fanfid on YouTube centering around assorted Yurei of Asian horror films (very pleased that they used some Kayako clips from Ju-On: TG 2, too). Which reminds me, I must post that video on here somewhen.
My sister got her braces fitted a few days ago. I don't think she's too pleased (she likes the fact that they're multi-coloured, though XD), but she did say that she'd rather have braces as opposed to surgery to have her upper jaw yanked backwards (it's ever so slightly too far forwards, which we never would have guessed until her orthodondist told her so).
I think I've recovered all my CDs from the assorted boxes and crates now. I'm storing all my CD singles in a cardboard box until I get another CD unit. My albums that won't fit on my current shelving unit are currently stacked on top of it.
I've also been in contact with the bank, to let them know that I've changed my name as a result of my marriage. I should hopefully be hearing from them within a few days - I have a couple of cheques under my new name that need to be paid in.
I was going to update about some other stuff - but what with this computer acting up lately, I'll find some other time to do so.
Okay, so I tried to update on Friday whilst at my mother's again, but it wouldn't let me for some reason. It wasn't letting me edit anything, either. Oh well. Luckily, I saved the majority of this update in a Notepad file, so I'm just altering it as I see fit. :D
I've also friends-locked my previous entry, just in case anyone sees it who isn't supposed to. I'll probably be doing the same to most of my co-worker rants from this point on.
On Friday evening, I had Kayleigh and JJ round again, for a pizza night. Euan was celebrating the fact that his supervisor, who is a complete bastard, will probably be losing his job very soon. The reason? He was caught stealing money from the store. XD XD Also, this guy has been having loads of problems lately - he's in debt, his girlfriend's left him because she was sick of him going off and fucking other women (apparently he's been known to boast about the fact that he cheats on his girlfriends), and he recently crashed his car into a Porche. I think it's the epitome of "what goes around, comes around", and I have to say, I don't feel sorry for him in the slighest. He's a wanker.
I had to work for slightly longer hours Saturday. Annoying, yes, but, hey, money's always helpful. Although, the entire store had to be evacuated for about five to ten minutes, due to the fire alarm going off. Apparently a chicken on the deli counter caught fire. o_O
Whilst I was walking home that night, I was approached by this random guy, who said that his car had broken down and he needed to get back to Taunton. He asked me if I could give him directions to the bus stop, and also if I could lend him some money for the fare. I told him I didn't have the exact amount (not that I know how much a bus from Yeovil to Taunton costs anyway), but I did give him £1.20 as a start - truth be told, I did have more money in my wallet, but I didn't want to give him too much just in case he was leading me on. That, and I need it for my own bus fares. He seemed genuine enough, though, and was very polite and not giving me any hassle, so I didn't have a problem with it.
On Sunday, I had Jem over for a few hours, as she was home from uni for the weekend. :D She's returning in two weeks, so she can try on her bridesmaid dress then.
I've decided that, on days when I have to work at both the office and the supermarket, I'm going to travel to my mum's house after my office shift, change into my uniform there, and then catch the bus into town from this estate (which is what I'm doing today - hence the update, since I still lack Broadband at the new house), because it would take too long to walk for half an hour to my new house, change, and then walk a further ten or so minutes to the nearest bus stop.
At least I'm getting plenty of exercise, walking to work in the mornings. ^__^
The sexy new TV arrived last week. :D Whoot. 42", baby!
I've been having some pretty odd dreams over the past few nights, too. One had Wesker from RE and The Fear from MGS 3 in it, one had someone from my flist in it (I think it was kryceksfox), and the one I had the other night had Lyndsey (a girl I used to be friends with at school) and notorious_hunty in it. I can't remember it too well, but it seemed to involve an old, filthy abandoned house, filled with discarded rubbish.
I think the one I had about trying to move all of my stuff out of my mum's house before she blew up the bedroom was quite possibly the strangest one so far, though. o_O
I started playing Quake 4 again on Thursday. I have concluded that I'm really out of practise with it - the previous time I played it was March, and unfortunately the last time I saved was at a really frustrating part. XD Oh well. Time to get back into the loop.
I also started a save on Dead Rising last week. I kind of sucked at it for a little while, but I have improved a lot since then. I'm currently at level 30-something (the exact number escapes me at the moment), and I think I'm sort of close to the end of following the story - I have about 20-odd hours to go in game time and I'm currently attempting to stop Larry from making mincemeat out of poor Carlito. (Apart from last night, when I let him get ground up just to see what would happen. It wasn't pretty.) Yay.
Also, whacking zombies with giant teddy bears is fun as hell. XD
Time to get the bus soon. :) Laters.
Quote of the weekend: Nom: (on the flaming chicken incident) *Imitating a deli counter employee, sweetly* So, how do you like your chicken? *imitating a customer, roaring* ROASTED!!
So, I went up to Cribbs Causeway today, to have a look for potential bridesmaid dresses & shoes. I didn't find anything, unfortunately - I was surprised to find that John Lewis and Marks & Spencer didn't have much at all. I'll probably go to Taunton to have a look around in shops there in a couple weeks' time.
Alice bought a fascinator to wear to the wedding, though. It's bright pink and she decided to name it Gregory. *Blinks* Uh, yes.
I did, however, manage to buy Koma on DVD using my other HMV gift card. That was the first time I'd seen it at a decent price (not counting online stores), and I have been wanting to see it for ages, so I decided to pick it up. I also saw a really nice pair of jeans in TopShop, but I wasn't quite prepared to spend £40 on them. Makes me wish I'd saved my TopShop gift card instead of spending it the other day - I have to return the T-shirt I bought, anyway, as it's a bit too tight around the chest area, unsurprisingly.
Bank holiday tomorrow - whoo, no work! I'll be making up the hours on Wednesday, though, if they let me. I need the money, after all. ^_^
That is all for now.

Well, two System Restores didn't fix the bloody problem. *Grumbles* Looks like I'm going to have to re-install Photoshop, or find an identical download, or something.
Work at the supermarket wasn't so bad tonight. There were a few minor annoyances, but it was a reasonably peaceful evening, because there didn't seem to be any team leaders around to nag at everyone. It's nice to get through a shift without having to listen to Lisa squawking and Sharon squeaking orders at you. XD
It was pretty annoying after my shift, though. I called my mother, to find out where she was - she usually collects me from work. However, she wasn't answering her phone. A few minutes later, she called me back - saying that she was unable to pick me up. Now, this wouldn't have been so bad, if she had actually let me know a few hours in advance, to allow me to book a taxi. Apparently she sent me a text message earlier in the day, to inform me. Well, it's now gone half ten, and I still haven't recieved the message. o_O Strange.
So, feeling extremely peeved, I called my dad, but he didn't answer his phone, so I phoned the taxi service, and asked how soon they'd be able to send a taxi my way. Fortunately, they said it would take about five minutes (it's usually a nightmare trying to get short-notice taxis on a Friday night), so I booked it, then went to the cash machine to try and get some money out to actually pay for the damn taxi. (Of course, my father called me back at this point. *Snicker*)
...Of course, the cash machine had to go out of service after I'd been waiting in line for several minutes, didn't it? *Groan* So I had to go back in-store, and buy a Bounty bar just so I could get cashback. XD
Oh well. I'll see if I can get my mum to pay me back for the taxi later.
I also went shopping before I started work. One of the new-ish clothing stores in town is closing down already (it's only been there a few months!), so I went in and helped myself to a few of the bargains in there. I bought two plain blue tops in different styles for £6 each, a khaki green men's T-shirt with some sort of a unicorn mofif on the front for £3, and a pair of cute shiny red boots that had been reduced to £5 from £32. Not bad, eh? :)
I had a pretty freaky dream earlier, too, but I may update about that either later or tomorrow.
The cheques for the wedding invitations & dress have been sent. I still have to confirm a few things regarding the invites, but at least that's all moving ahead now.
With regards to the house, the contracts have been signed. Not too long now... hopefully. :P
Downloading all the Resident Evil music has got me in a really nostalgic mood. I'll probably dig out my copy of the original over the next few days and give it a playthough. At the moment, I've started a new game on the remake - I've only played it through once, with Jill, so I'm going through Chris' scenario at the moment. (Why am I suddenly getting serious Chris/Rebecca vibes? XD)

That's handy! :) I just signed up a few minutes ago. Here. Nothing's on there yet, but hey. (And no, I couldn't think of a different username, so I just went with one of my usuals...)
