Not Us but Christ

how easy it is for us to sway into Carnality, or even legalism or Philosophy, and forget the given axis our mere souls were meant to revolve about.

Christ.

"And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him." - Colossians 3:17

I tweaked my knee last night while playing basketball. It's never happened before, so i'm not sure what exactly is wrong. I sorta over-extended it, which is never good, because usually when that happens it means that the anterior cruciate ligament is the one at risk. All sportsmen know that the ACL is the one that always tears and keeps you out of sports for months. Eg. Michael Owen. Anyway.... hope that isn't it in my case. Irony of the whole thing is that my first lecture today was on the Knee Joint. Woohoo. Haha.. God really knows how to pull of jokes i tell you! I think it's healing now. I'm still doing a little bit of a penguin-wobble, but i think it makes me look cool. =) Hope i can recover in time for my match on thursday...

God!

Belief and Trust

THere was a stunt man who in the 80's attempted to walk across the Niagara Falls on a tight rope. Many passers-by watched, some in fear, most in curiosity, as the man did a number of backflips on the tight rope, before crossing to the otherside. The people clapped and cheered.

The stunt man then took a wheelbarrow, and asked the people if he believed that he could push the wheelbarrow across the tight rope to the other side.

Everyone said yes.

The man then asked again whether they believed that he would make it to the other side with the wheelbarrow.

Again, the people said yes.

The man then said," ok you, get in the wheelbarrow."

But no one did.

-----------

Moral of the story: Belief and Trust are 2 different things

<><><><><><><><><><><>><><><><><><><><>

I got the story off watching an interview of Pat Riley by Jay Leno. Pat Riley is the head coach of the Miami Heat, the team that (i believe) is going to win the NBA championship again this year.

Anyway, what am i doing. it's 2 hours to my exam and i'm blogging. Well, no use cramming facts in last minute anyway.

I trust God!

Exam is in 2 days, and i'm starting to panic. Not good!

I almost forgot that tomorrow was Easter sunday.

Holidays remind you of how fast time really flies.

So. It's the last quarter of my 2 wk break. Actually, even though i've been spending most of my holiday cooped up in my room, it has actually been a good break. I've quite enjoyed getting away from everyone, spending some time with myself. Don't you feel that sometimes you just get tired when you're always around people? I don't know, maybe it's just me, cos most people think that if you walk around in town alone, it means that you are lonely and thus require some companionship. But i enjoy being alone sometimes! I like shopping by myself sometimes...

Heh.. yesterday i was at the supermarket getting my groceries, and then i bumped into a friend of mine, who was alone as well. On the outside i was all friendly and such and such, but on the inside i was going," oh crapp..... how m i gonna get away from him!"

Ok no i'm not antisocial. I just need some quality time with myself once in awhile. I think sharing a flat with 4 other very clingy friends entitles me to some!

Yup ok, i needa go back to work now. Med is not easy i tell you! If you're thinking about doing medicine, don't. Unless God tells you to.

Seriously!
