Moisture

The title's what it is because i was listening to the song 'rain down' by delirious? just now, and i just realised how dry my face was.

Well my point is that we are not in control of circumstance. Bad things WILL happen to good people, and bad people too. We are not in control any of that. What we ARE in control of is our mental attitude. "Pain is Inevitable, But Misery Is Optional".
There was once a young girl who had a weight problem. Her doctor kept on reminding her that she had to lose weight, so she went on one diet scheme after one diet scheme, but nothing seemed to work. One day, her doctor diagnosed her with cancer, and she had to go for an emergency amputation of her leg. When she went for the operation, she said from the operating table, "Now you be sure to weigh the leg so that you can remove that amount of weight from my chart!"
What an attitude! Instead of feeling sorry for herself and cursing her luck, she decided to keep a positive attitude and be happy!
Don't take life so seriously! You'll never get out of it alive. - Source Unknown

Penning

Hey guys.

I've been thinking. Quite a bit actually, so i decided to start keeping a diary. Someone once said, "Thoughts disentangle themselves once they go through your fingertips." It's quite true. Sometimes you think so much, you begin to over analyse. Stuff then appears distorted and you get all confused. So yup, i have a diary. Haha. Oh man, what am i doing telling everyone about it. Ah no harm i guess.

Oh this year, i've got a quad room. It means that my roomie Simon and I have to share our toilet with another 2 guys. That's just totally ugh. To make matters worse, the toilet bowl is clogged and overflowing now because of over usage. We worked it too hard. Haha! Argh! Man... no comment.

I've decided to join the music ministry @ Tenth. I know, it's taken me quite a long time to get involved in the church, but hey, better than never. I still get haunted with thoughts about not being accepted and everything, but i know it's just lies originating from hell trying to prevent me from doing God's work.

Hmm.. blogging kinda clears my thoughts too.

My friend introduced me to this free program called Google Earth. It's really cool. It's basically a huge collection of satellite pictures, and enables you to zoom into any place on the planet and see pretty detailed pictures of it from the perspective of and astronaut in space. I found my school here, my primary school in Hong Kong, ACS(I), Orchard road, home, and even lucas' and yiuloong's home! Haha... Pretty fun. I tried looking for the twin towers but i don't know new york too well. It's a great way to kill time, and practice your geography!

I'm reading this book, " Who Wrote the Bible?" by Richard Elliott Friedman. It claims that the 5 books of Moses weren't actually written solely by him. It doesn't say much about the New Testament, but it claims that that there are places where the Bible actually contradicts itself. I personally don't know what to think about it. I know God doesn't make mistakes though. And to think i'm actually reading this book...

Have you ever wondered why some Christians don't believe in evangelism? I dont' get it. They are actually against going out into the world to reach out to the lost. I mean... thats plain ignorance! Outright disobedience towards God and the Great Commission. Blinded some people are. Lord, open their eyes!

Ephesians 5:17," Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is."

I want to want

Yes. I want to want to stay in Singapore and be with my family and friends.

But isn't it funny? When you want something, you WANT to want the thing? Think about it. If you like this girl/guy alot, you would WANT to like the person. But when you stop liking the person, you wonder how, why, what you saw in the person that made you like him/her.

Same here, i really want to be in Singapore now. And i don't want to not want to be in Singapore.

It's the same vice versa. I don't want to be here, and i don't want to want to be here.. I guess it's cos it's kinda complimentary with me wanting to want to be in Singapore.

Should i want to like Canada? Should i try to be less attached to Singapore? Because i feel as if my attachment to the people in Singapore is causing me to want to not like Canada, and thats making me not like Canada.

Aiyah is what i'm thinking wrong?

Haha comment please.

Blink

It'll be my last full day in Singapore tmr! I won't be back till december. Hopefully. God-willing. Oh man... gotta gear myself up mentally to go back. Haha. I've so easily accustomed myself back to the old lifestyle before i went to Canada, now i have to slow down those gears to suit the slow 30 mile per hour simple life of a Canadian highschooler.

Dude, where's my car is on TV now. I feel as if one more year in canada and i'll become just like jesse. only i won't have a car to lose.

Anyway, yes. You know, the moment i arrived at changi airport 2 and a half months ago and the gang picked me. I knew i was in for the fasted 2 and a half months of my life. True enough. It went as fast as *blink*. That.

I just wanna set one thing straight, for the record. Life in Canada for me is fun. No doubt. But, it pales(greatly) in comparison to life in singapore. For me. I mean.. it's not that singapore is such great fun, but it's just the people. Sigh. I mean, no sigh. Thank God for such great friends in singapore in church, that i'll miss singapore soo so much in spite of the fun i have in Canada.

I'm going to miss laksa.

Again.

Can't wait for tomorrow! The guys are playing basketball after service again.. ohhh .. it's so fun playing with them. I don't know... there's somethign about playing basketball with the guys. It's just such a great way to connect to each other. I pray that it doesn't rain tomorrow...

Oh oh my mom got this PHOTOGRAPHER to come over to my place this mornign to take family photos of us. Man... at first i thought it was gonna be like a family portrait, a piece of cake. All you need to do is gel your hair and smile. But noo.. we took candid shots! Well kinda candid. We had to pretend to do stuff. Haha. So we'd all sit at a round table and PRETEND to have breakfast, by PRETENDING to drink tea from a tea cup, and PRETEND to laugh and joke. All this while the photographer is happily snapping away. That's just stage 1.
Stage 2. I had to play the violin, piano and guitar, while the rest PRETENDED to enjoy the music. Okay maybe not pretend... but ... yah. Hehe. It wasn't easy i tell you! So now we're waiting for the photographer to print the photos. Hope they turn out good... after all the pretending we did.

I wanted to share this verse during cell group but i couldn't find it... so since i won't be able to share it at cg till december, i'll share it with you guys.

Psalm 34:22,"The Lord redeems the soul of His servants, and non of those who trust in Him shall be condemned."
