No real events, so just a lot of pictures...

We went on an evening walk after dinner last Friday to get some exercise/air/talking time. Ada doesn't usually take a night bottle but we did one to get her to sleep. she totally relaxed but stayed awake for a long time. maybe not the best parenting but felt really good.

Talking to Grandma on the phone. Ty was talking and gave the phone to Ada to see if she would say anything. she didn't but seemed to enjoy the talking from the other end.

Running in the yard outside the condo. Apparently high-stepping is required to get through this grass.

Eating pics! I got animal shaped pasta for fun. it actually worked surprisingly well since she could poke it with her finger to pick it up!

Oatmeal, chia seeds, and yogurt for breakfast. She likes it, but got beyond messy this particular morning.

Coolest baby on the block. We're hoping the sunglasses kick will move towards Ada wanting to wear her sunglasses and not just mine. no luck yet.

Developments

Ada follows instructions:

She's followed directions before a little bit. Keep your cup on your tray... she'll do it if it's a game, for a little while, and then drops it after it's not fun any more. But yesterday, I pulled the laundry from the drier and 2 of the drier balls came with me. I dug them out, handed them to her, and said "Will you put these in the laundry?" She took them, walked over to the washer, put one of the balls down on the floor to open the door, and put the other ball in. Then she got distracted so the other ball from the floor never made it into the washer but still, good job Ada!

Ada has clothing preferences:

This morning I put on a pair of 12 month jeans. They were on the shelf and Ada had picked them out. The waist was too big (as usual) so they were falling down. After ~15 minutes, I grabbed another pair, pulled the jeans off of her, and sat her in my lap. "No, no, no," she said, thrashing and not letting me easily put the new pair on. "You want to wear these?" I asked, holding up the jeans. "yeah" she said, and helped stick out her leg so I could put them back on.

Gladys got some great pictures of Ada at daycare last week; she got some great expressions. I love seeing how happy she is playing.

I think Gladys was trying to get all of them to hold hands and Ada wasn't cooperating but was pretty cute in the process

Such a hard thing to have her there, but she does seem happier with other kids around. They all apparently love "the baby." Plus Gladys is way more creative with activities than I would be!
