Merry Christmas 2010

We had a wonderful Christmas with Aiden this year! He was so very excited about the lights, the tree, snowmen, reindeer, and the thought of Santa. He woke sick and was a little tearful at first, but after a few minutes we went downstairs and he was all better. Of course he wanted every gift to be taken out of the packaging so he could play with it immediately. I should have just let him do that and we could have made Christmas last for an entire week (I will keep that in mind for next year).

Visit from Santa

Aiden was very surprised tonight when he heard the doorbell ring and ran to the door to find Santa! He kept saying over and over "Santa's at my house". He sat on his lap and promised to be a good boy and then Santa gave him two fun presents. He was so excited and had a huge smile on his face, it almost brought me to tears. Can't wait for Christmas morning!

Making Candy

Last weekend we made candy for Aiden to give to his cousins on Christmas. We made chocolate covered Oreos, lollipops, and chocolate candy in fun Christmas shapes. He picked what he wanted to give to each cousin and we hope the like them!

Christmas Cookies

I baked my great-grandma's sugar cookies from scratch and these (because we love the candy cane Hershey kisses). Aiden was really interested in helping, but only for about 15 minutes. He did a good job at helping me put all the ingredients together for the cookies, and then decided he really wanted to watch Mickey's Twice Upon Christmas. He did get enjoy licking the icing off the beaters after I made it. I loved doing that as a child and I still do!

Aiden & Jack

Last night my college roommates got together and had a Christmas dinner. We were talking about how "old" we are now, since the entertainment was watching our own children running around and playing together. Aiden and Jack (my roommate Jane's little boy) had a lot of fun playing together. There are two more Bloomsburg babies on the way in January and February, and another little one that's almost 4 months old. I can't wait until they are all old enough to run around together!

Early Christmas

Last weekend our friends Harry and Kristie came for a visit and surprised Aiden with an early Christmas gift. He was so excited for the Thomas set, that we even had to take him along to dinner!

Christmas Crafts (Round 1)

We started our Christmas crafts this past weekend. First we made white chocolate snowflake lollipops. Next, we made an oversized (kid friendly) snow globe. We also made a melty bead ornament and a gingerbread house. Aiden really enjoyed all the crafts and I have a few more for us to work on as well. We also plan on making more candy to put with some of the Christmas gifts!
