New Job For Lindsey

With Doug being a full time student it was now time for me to re-enter the workforce after a 7 year hiatus. I was not looking forward to this new endeavor but was trying to make the most of it. A couple of weeks before I was going to start looking for a job. I got an e-mail from the relief Society. Someone in the Vineyard ward needed a part time caregiver. The pay was much better than a basic retail job, and I felt prompted to call the Relief Society President of the vineyard ward right away, even though it was 10pm. I called her up and met with the woman the next day. unfortunately some one was there before me and she told her that she could have the job. I was totally bummed, because I had such strong feelings about this job. I knew I was supposed to work there! anyway 2 weeks later on Halloween night I got a call letting me know that the first girl was not working out, and that they needed me to start tomorrow! I could set my hours around megs school schedule, and work 4 hours a day/7 days a week. Heavenly Father has blessed us through this whole endeavor of giving up a good job and going to school. I needed a job, and was practically handed one with the perfect hours and much better pay than I expected!

Halloween

We celebrated Halloween with the Tri-fecta! Of course it was a ton of fun, with lots of goodies, and my famous homemade hot Chocolate! Meg was a fairy at the church Halloween party, and a Pirate on Halloween night.

Meghan's 5th Birthday Party

We had a fun and wild time with 14 girls, and one boy at Megs party. They got to do crafts, play games, and hit a pinata! They all had a blast and here are some pictures to prove it!

The Kern County Fair!

Meg and I were able to make it to the Kern County Fair this year to watch my brother Sam Show his sheep! He did a great job! He had the Champion Natural colored lamb, the Champion Hampshire lamb, and the FFA reserve Champion. Way to go Sam! you were awesome! Meghan had fun with all the animals, and pony rides. I took her over to the carnival area to ride a few rides but it was sooo hot that she only got to ride three! all the parents looked like cattle under shade roofs. Where ever there was a little shade the adults would be all squished in waiting for there kids to finish a ride. I'm not below acting like cattle, I was right along with them vying for the shade!

Meg and I did a little cooking project because Meghan is really into cooking right now. She would prefer to watch a cooking show, than a cartoon! So I let her make these cupcakes ALMOST all by herself! She did a great job!

Time Out For Women"

Most of you know about the "Time Out For Women" conferences, but for those of you who dont it's a fantastic conference for women that is super inspiring and faith building. This year the musical guests were Jenny Oaks Baker, and Hilary Weeks. They were both Awesome, and I got a picture with Hillary! (She is tiny and I look HUGE next to her!) I was able to go with one of my best friends and we had a blast! We stayed up ALL night in our hotel room- literally; we only got one and a half hours of sleep. There's something so special about friendships forged through the Savior. when you know that you both know the truth, and can lift each other up! I'm lucky to have a couple of these friends, even though only one was able to come to the conference. I was also able to get to know Molly Thomas better and she is great! Theres no way you could leave the conference without being filled. Women have a divine purpose, and have a strength that is unmatched. If you've never been to a Time out For Women conference give me a call and maybe we can get a big group to go next year!

Tri-Fecta Beach day

With Great intentions we all Packed up and headed to the beach, unfortunately the weather Gods were not very considerate that day! We all froze, and the wind was wickedly strong! The kids seemed to have fun, but for us adults after the first 30 minutes after I took some of these pictures, we just huddled up in blankets. Poor Trevor had worked the whole night before and hadn't been to bed yet, so he slept in a tent we set up. Tim, the crazy one in the pack ran out and dived into the ocean and swam a couple of times! Those Montana people, you never know about them... lol we didn't last super long and packed up by 3pm. I think next time we will shoot for the mountains, we've had our fill of the beach!

Meg's First Day Of Kindergarten!

I cant believe our little girl is in school! She was so excited to go! Parents got to go on the first day and as soon as we stepped out of the car and walked 3 feet Meg feel flat on her face! Of course she just started screaming and we were trying to shush her, and her teacher is looking over as if we beat her or something! Oh well, par for the course with our Meg! She was able to pull it together and had a great first day of school. Here is her first day of school picture.

Ward camp out

We had a lot of fun this year at our ward camp out! Meghan had a blast! We had fun hanging out with good friends, cooking great food, and sleeping on the hard ground (Totally fun minus the hard ground part) Meg loved running around with all the other kids, and love sleeping in a tent. The pictures are of Doug enjoying our camp spot, and Time Airing up his massive air mattress! Tim and Anna were very ambitious in bring out there brand new twins! They did it though!

Day at Dillon Beach

We took a day trip to dillons and had a lot of fun! It feels like we haven't been to the ocean in forever (like 6 months!) Doug got totally fried, and couldn't hardly walk for days! We went up to bodega and had fish and chips. Meg had so much fun, she loves playing in the big waves and would get washed away if we didn't stay right with her. It was pretty overcast most of the day and chilly, but that how I like the beach to be, I'm a northern girl.
