lately.

i can't believe the weekend is over, and that we're already a week into november. time is flying! the past two weeks have especially flown due to the fact that brooklyn seems to be sixteen and kendall, well kendall has grown up a lot too. they are really starting to love to interact with each other. kendall's face lights up when brooklyn approaches her and she gets so excited. brooklyn is constantly mothering her and trying to make her laugh.

it seriously melts my heart.

we celebrated my MIL's 50th before she jetted back to hawaii. brooklyn was so excited to give her balloons and presents. all of the girls went out to lunch to celebrate her birthday and then the guys joined us at a birthday party for her at her mom's.

before she left, she was able to buy a home. the process definitely took a lot longer than she and my FIL had hoped, but i think it has all been worth it in the end. the home is beautiful and there are already big plans in store for it. in a little over a month, we'll be moving into that home. we're definitely sad to leaving our current home/neighbors/ward but look forward to a new adventure. i'm never really good with change, but hopefully with everything being done by Christmas, i'll be able to handle it.

for the next few weeks we'll be de-junking, cleaning, organizing, and packing before we head to hawaii for thanksgiving so that our stresses will be lessened right before the move. so with all of that, we're enjoying the moments of just being together, the beautiful fall weather, and most definitely getting lots of kisses on a sweet little chubby baby we have around here.

on this wednesday...

our wednesday was normal for the most part. however, there was painting right after our breakfast of oatmeal was eaten. normally, as soon as she's taken her last bite, she is ready to get in the tub right away. even on saturdays.

but she chose to paint instead.

the sun was out and these lilies made me smile, so my mood was better than normal.

lunch was nothing structured, just apples, cheese, and tomatoes. for the first time in her life, brooklyn tried a little piece of cheese and then asked for more. i was shocked. it must be the sharp cheddar.

then it was nap time/cleaning time/relaxing time. it was short lived however, and we went outside to enjoy the sunshine and breathe in that yummy fresh air.

james came home from work. we had chicken fajitas for dinner, and then went for a walk around the block. then it was off to young women's for me and paper writing time for james. brooklyn got to choose a movie to watch until mommy got home. i was only gone for an hour so i got to come home and finish toy story with her.

after the movie, brooklyn helped straighten up a few things in her room and put the new flannel sheets on her big girl bed. she asked over and over if she could sleep in it. so guess what folks...

she did.

she was so excited as she crawled into her new soft sheets and looked at her books. james went up and read with her for a little while longer as well. we said family prayer and then it was lights out. we'll see how it goes. it'll definitely be interesting. but it really helped me that she wanted to sleep in there. this is a big transition for her (and her mama) and her being so excited and willing to make the change is making it so much easier on all of us.

brooklyn jayde, you are growing up way too fast. mommy and daddy love you so so much and we are so happy we get to be your parents.

love you tons and tons!

these chapters.

another chapter in our lives is coming to a close. not all the way, but almost. james' last day of work at huntsman was yesterday. he'll be starting a new job in weber county in a couple of weeks. i really can't even believe it. it's all come so fast. i'm not usually good with change, but i think i'm ready for the changes that are ahead for us. at least i hope i am.

i thought a special dinner was in order, it being james' last day at a job he's loved. i wanted him to come home to a happy wife, happy baby, and happy dinner table. yellow, sunflowers, and one of his favorite meals greeted him (and colby, james loves having visitors so that was a plus). cajun chicken pasta was dinner if you're wondering. anyway, he came home in a very jovial mood and i was glad. i think it might have something to do with the fact that he has the next two days off, but i also think he's ready for the change too.

(I can't stop eating these. definitely my snack of choice this summer.)

i'm so grateful for a husband who works so hard for us and is willing to make changes so that we can be together more often as a family (all of this will make more sense in the next couple of months). i really do love and appreciate him for it. brooklyn just loves him because he's her daddy and because he sings to her while he's changing her diaper.

brooklyn and i went up to huntsman on tuesday to have lunch with him at the pointe one last time. we all shared a georgia peach smoothie and james and i had grilled turkey sandwiches. it was nice. i enjoy being able to eat lunch together as a family as it doesn't happen very often. brooklyn loves being at huntsman because of all the open space she has to run around. i'm glad we had the chance to have a last lunch there. something about lasts are good for me. i need the closure.

(that turkey sandwich right there...amazing)

so hopefully, i'll have some fun things to write about in the next few days. i really am hoping that we take advantage of having james home for a couple days. in reality, we should be de-junking or organizing or something responsible like that. i'm crossing my fingers for fun. not for work. not for necessity. we need a little week day fun. so here's to fingers crossed and maybe toes too.

New Beginnings

With a new season, brings new beginnings. And I am loving the beginnings of Fall. The cooler weather especially, I can't help it, I love it!

And for this blog, it also brings a new title. I've thought about changing the address of the blog, but I think I'll leave it for awhile. I'm not great with change, so changing the title is a big enough step for me. I just wanted something that would more include my children, not just James and I.

My dad helped come up with the title. Random, is basically everything I write about, and forevers represents our children (now and future) and our forever family.

I am loving the changes going on in our little family and I only look forward to many more and lots and lots of happiness.

So here goes. A new season, a new blog name, and a new adventure. I hope you enjoy reading what a write.

(her dad randomly put her in here one day - and she loves it!)
