Santa Baby

You wouldn't know it by the expression on her face that she was extremely excited about seeing santa. She didn't say a word or crack a smile, but hey, she didn't scream! Afterwards we asked her if she saw santa and she'd smile really big and nod her head. So, at least she was excited although you never woulda guessed it at the time.

Saturday night our decatur friends gave us a going away party at Kate and Carl's house. Not only did they give us a party, they gave us a present:

An Awesome painting by local artist Rickie Higgins of the Princess Theatre in Decatur. It is in a box because it is an Oil and it will take a good 10 days to dry completely.

Thanks to all the Friends -pictured and not pictured who went in on this wonderful gift. I'll be sure and post a picture of it in our new house.

It just so happens that we also got this:

For Christmas.

It's a painting by Rickie of our home in Decatur. We've had some GREAT memories in this house. Our first 5 years of marriage, A fire, A baby, and not to mention all of Maggie's firsts which have occured in this house. Thanks to Nanny, Bop Bop and Grammy and Pappy for this painting, it will be very special to me and hopefully Maggie for many years.

On the Move

No Christmas Tree (or cheer for that matter) in this house...just lots of moving boxes! This little booger turned 21 months old over Thanksgiving and I havn't had a chance to catch up on what she's been up to. She and Ruby are enjoying this moving thing...they both love to get in and on top of the boxes. Maggie has been using words in sentences alot the past few weeks. Some of her first ones have been:

"I anna go see daddy"

"I no like it" refering to Potato Salad and again to Cornbread dressing.

"I got ou"

"Get up mommy!"

"I anna ash ands" (I wanna wash hands)

"I anna get in shower"

She's also started saying "OK" when we ask her to do something and "sorry" when she does something wrong. She's started putting her baby dolls in time-out and sometimes she spanks them. It's hard to stand our ground because it's pretty stinkin' cute when she says sorry and hard not to let her out of time-out!

Last week she fell off of our bed. Notice the scabs around her right eye. We have a sisal rug in the bedroom and it left quite a mark. Now she points to it and says "ump on bed".

We can't take our eye off of her for a second because she'll be unpacking everything or pulling the dogs tail or who knows what else...yes, that box does say China on it. She wasn't on it very long.

November Recap

We've had another busy month! Robyn and Paul came to visit.

We all went to a beautiful wedding on Smith lake of our friends Darren and Bethanne.

One of the dogs took advantage of the ceremony by chowing down on the cheese blocks.

At the game we got to visit with Maggie's favorite 2nd cousin (i think that's right) Margo. They are both named Margaret after their Great Grandmother.

The next weekend we went to visit Robyn and Paul at Paul's Family's Farm in Cohassett, Alabama. All the girls played while the boys hunted.

All the Great Grandchildren

The ENTIRE family...it has been a long time since we'd all been together...too long and we had a great time!

We had a great weekend. Robyn and Paul (maggie's godparents) came to visit and we all went to a friends wedding on Smith Lake Saturday. Maggie had so much fun playing with these guys and we had a wonderful time visiting with them. Weekends with friends are always too short!

This picture is not an indication of how our night was. We really did have a good time trick or treating. We didn't force this child to keep the hood on her head and all was well in the world after that.

Octoberfest

This month this angel turned 20 months old. She is as fun as ever, she is also as stubborn as ever.

We went to the Auburn/Arkansas game. Maggie had a blast cheering and dancing to the band.

Hunting season started so we went with Dad and his buddy Jeremy and their family to the hunting camp. There were 4 adults, and 4 kids all in 1 camper. Maggie got her first kiss from Jase.

Last weekend, we went to Asheville, NC for Kristin and Gabe's wedding. Maggie was the flower girl.

Max, Gabe's Dog was a ring bearer.

Briggs, Kristin's Dog was also a ring bearer and stole the show when he decided to take a dump just as Kristin and her Dad were coming down the isle.

Father of the Bride and the Gorgeous Bride, Who had no clue that her dog had just deficated during her wedding.

The Ceremony was Beautiful and so was the Weather.

With Grammy, Thanks to Grammy for helping The Flower Girl get ready!

Yes, I said "the first time." After Breakfast, Evelyn headed home, with no problems. Ryan was in a company car because he met us (me, Robyn and Maggie) there Friday afternoon. The caravan is on it's way and we pull over to look at the map and Robyn says "your car is smoking". We get out, not only is it smoking, it is leaking. Ryan met us, we got towed to the dealership (after we switched carseat and everything else to his company car ON THE SIDE OF THE INTERSTATE) thinking it was just a hose that had popped off and needed repair. Ryan left us at Kristin and Gabe's because he had to go out of town on Monday for work. To make the LONG story short, we had the transmission flushed in June and the Shop that did the deed put the wrong fluid in it. We found out Monday morning that I would need a new transmission and we'd be there until Thursday waiting on it. Thankfully, the Shop's insurance took care of everything and Gabe and Kristin were gracious enough to let us stay at their house while they went on their honeymoon. We were pulling out of their driveway Thursday when they got home!!

Although most of my time was spent at the Nissan Dealership, Maggie got in some good play/cuddle time with Max.

We also found time to go to the BILTMORE! We had both been once before, but it's always great to go again...wow...you can't take pictures inside, but it is amazing...mostly because it was built in the 1890's and there are 43 bathrooms and electricity! Not to mention the detail in the stone work. My favorite things about it are the gargoyles and the patina of all the copper.
