Hard at Work

At the beginning of Dec I went to a birthday party at a play place here in town. There are different rooms where you can dress up and perform a "job". You get "money" when you finish to use at the store. After my hard work as an astronaut and paramedic, I spent my hard earned cash on a yo-yo. (It lasted about 24 hours before it broke!)

Thanksgiving

This year for Thanksgiving I had a few friends from my neighborhood, and school class, over to listen to the story of the first thanksgiving and make Indian headbands. We celebrated all week by making crafts and watching Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.

Mom was also busy sewing this tablecloth. The turkey was eye level with Evan and they had several deep conversations:)

Making dinner

We had a friend stay with us at the beginning of Nov and he taught me how to make dumplings from his hometown. Evan wanted to help too but enjoyed eating them mostly!

Halloween

Nothing like Halloween pictures to get you in the Christmas spirit right? Sorry these are so late! Evan and I dressed up to go to a Fall Festival here in town. We played games and got lots of candy. Even though Halloween is over, we still pretend to be turtles.

Chili Night

Lately Evan has been a picky eater. We found something he likes....CHILI!!!

I'm back

I did not know that being 4 is so much work! I have been staying busy and having lots of fun. I will try to update you on what has been going on over the last few months.

The activity that consumes most of my time is playing with Evan. Lately he has started running and trying to say new words. Our favorite games are hide and seek and chase. We keep mom and dad busy!

My Birthday Party

This year I had a construction party. I had lots of fun helping mom get ready and then playing all the games with my friends! Here are some pics:

Look who's "walking"

Today is my birthday (I will post pictures soon!) but I thought I would share my brothers new skill with you. A few weeks ago he started standing alone and taking a few steps. Now he can take about 10-15 steps before he falls. He is very excited and proud of himself. Here are a few very short videos of his first steps a few weeks ago.

Evan's First Birthday!

On Sunday night we were able to ccelebrate Evan's birthday with a few of our friends. Evan could tell that he was getting all the attention and had a great time eating cake and playing.

Sicknesses, food, fun and celebrating!

On Aug. 8th I woke up with a fever and got worse through out the day. My white blood count was high and my doctor suggested we go to a better hospital for treatment. Long story short, that night we were in a Hong Kong hospital! The doctor said I had a Strep A infection that may have lead to a bacterial infection. I ended up staying in the hospital for two nights but thankfully only had to take oral medicine - no IV's!! Unfortunately, my whole family ended up getting sick! We all had fevers, prescriptions and rested a lot! (This isn't even all of it!)


When we finally started feeling better we enjoyed some food that we can not get where we live. We ate at some good restaurants and ate good fruits and vegetables at home. One night we ate roasted butternut squash, okra, guacamole, and blueberries.


One day when we were all feeling well, we took a trip to the Science Museum. It was fun to play with a big bubble machine, a huge magnet, and lots of other cool things.


Finally, before we left, we took a trip to Disneyland! My dad and I did not feel 100% but we had a lot fun! I will post more pictures of that later.
The day we flew home was Evan's birthday. He is 1 year old!! We are waiting for everyone to get healthy and then plan to celebrate! (Hopefully tomorrow!)

Happy 4th of July!

The people here just woke up to a beautiful Sunday morning but we woke up to celebrate Americas birthday! All week I have learned about America and made crafts with mom. Tonight we went to a cook out, did sparklers, pops, and roasted marshmallows! So much fun!

All about Evan

Evan is 10 months old!! Here is a little about him:
He really is our "Very Hungry Caterpillar"! Evan had a rough few months with reflux issues. Even though he never looked malnourished he was not eating well and not happy at meal times. He gained a lot of weight early on and then stopped for almost four months. About a month ago he started taking medicine for it and now he can't get enough food! He now weighs 22.5 lbs and is (about) 28.7 inches. (That is almost a 3 lb increase in as many weeks!)

He is usually pretty happy and loves to be with people. He loves to crawl all over and when we don't block him in a room, he makes a bee line for my room! He knows that's where the good toys are. Today we found him reading- funny how he chose the book that matched his clothes!! All on his own!!


He also loves pulling up and cruising around on anything he can. I hope he walks soon so we can play outside together!



As you can see, he still has very blue eyes. Just like me and mom.



Evan really likes to sleep (like mom). He takes two, two-hour naps a day! We have to wake him or he would sleep longer. Sometimes he wakes up a little grumpy (also like mom) but when he sees me smiles really big!

When it is nap time, he uses a pacifier. As soon as it is in his mouth, he likes to grab his shirt and close his eyes.


Recently he started waving "bye bye". Today he even did it at nap time, while still holding his shirt :)
